I am 64, still working part time, moving out onto the road full time in 2020, and am not impressed at all with any of the shiny baubles that society tells me I must have in order to be safe and happy. Just the opposite. I don’t envy anyone for what they own, but Tom is right at the top of the stack so far as people I admire and respect because of who they are. I would enjoy any opportunity to visit with and learn from him. He simply exudes confidence and quietness and peace. His is one of the most refreshing and encouraging outlooks the I have come across in decades. Thank you for introducing Tom to us and thank you Tom for doing what you do and for doing it very well. Just keep going. Hope to see you down the road.

He had chronic health issues and was on kidney dialysis and would have to be hospitalized every few months. His last post was from his hospital bed. It was so sad. I enjoyed his videos because he never gave up and he had problem after problem. He also had a young son who loved him dearly.

With his mechanic's knowledge I know there are a lot of women rvers who would hire him to explain the motor mechanics of rvs. I know a lot about my rv but when you pop the hood I'm lost. Tom has a great attitude.

I literally said 'wow' out loud when I heard him say that. That was highly insightful. Wise words to live by, that's for sure!
After moving all my “ stuff” for the umpteenth time ( because I’m a gypsy at heart) I hear him say that our stuff is just stuff and he is SO very right about that! Thought I was going to start my van life but have to wait a year or so but am still determined to do it! Stuff is just stuff and we don’t need all that stuff!! 🤗🙏🏻
That is absolutely right, Caney! You can only wear so many clothes and shoes. When I retire in February, I'm donating my nicer clothing and shoes to my church's thrift store; they rarely charge over $3 per item. All the rest of "the stuff" is going to be donated to the rescue mission. Ya can't take it with ya! Besides, none of "that stuff" will fit who I am when I start my life of FREEDOM 😃!

That's a NOMAD. You see, as a teenager I also lived on the road. And when I finally settled down it was knowing I could always get up n go! Until I had a child. And that freedom (my father called it "a total lack of responsibility!" With disdain I have to be honest) THAT freedom was the ONLY thing I gave up when I had a child. As my youngest is approaching 18 these many years later I feel that itch like never before! 😁 Imma coming home!! I know without a doubt I'm going to spend the rest of my life as a nomad! My husband has spent his entire 52 years in the SAME TOWN! I've assured him he can wake up every day and have a fishing pole in one hand and his coffee in another. 🎣 Clocks a tickin'! I think any child who by chance spent time on the road or even had fun camping trips can imagine and aspire to a nomadic life. Just an opinion. Love the new add Bob and friends😉
I have the "itch", too. My family lived in a skoolie in the late 1970s. My late husband and I lived in a minivan in the early 2000s. My current partner and I are planning to convert a stepvan into a wheelchair- accessible RV to better allow us to enjoy our later years on our own terms.
It saddens me to inform our nomadic family that my best friend has parked his van next to the clouds with the best view of them all. He is loved and missed eternally.
