    That's the easy bit . So thanks for the much needed music lesson . I need lots and lots of practice.

    You have launched me into learning this piece as I love all 60s organ solos. As my computer and keyboard are 6 feet apart and it would take ages to transcribe your piece, I had a hunt for sheet music and found what I thought was the perfect title "Rock Keyboard/Organ Hits" Hal Leonard's Note for Note Keyboard Transcriptions with a 9 sheet version of House of the Rising Sun. Your arrangement sounds exactly like the original but my sheet music seems quite different. Same chords. I have "There is .... as A A .... but "And it's been the ruin as two octaves above A A G B C C. I don't want to invest too much effort in case it is not a note for note transcription. I have just noticed that you have a free download so it might be all stations go!

    O:59 why this E# chord sounds totally wrong on my 1960s transistor organ?

    • @LetterNotePlayer
      @LetterNotePlayer  5 років тому +1

      It is probably just the overtones coming through. Right there in the video I'm playing the E chord (E-g#-b) in the lower octave. The lower pitches always contain more overtone frequencies, particularly on some of the organ settings. If you take it up an octave it'll probably sound fine :)

    6:33 not g# it is actually g

    • @LetterNotePlayer
      @LetterNotePlayer  6 років тому

      I guess it'll work with a 'g'. Just listened to original and played along. Sounds like G# to me. Then I played the video and watched his fingers. Looks to me like he's hitting G#. Trouble with a G there is that it changes the chord to Emin and the whole song they always use an E maj chord at that cadence. But the g works. Final analysis ... it's the sound that counts. If you like that Emin sound ... use the G :)

    At time 6:27 through about 6:33 you play the DEG# sequence rapidly. Does that technique have a name? Not a musician.

    • @LetterNotePlayer
      @LetterNotePlayer  7 років тому +2

      Yes - it's an arpeggiated riff that suggests an E7 chord. E7 chord is (E-g#-b-d). Arpeggio is just a chord played sequentially, one note at a time. So ... that D-E-G# sequence repeated rapidly is hammering that E7 sound into our ears - with just three notes - arpeggiated repetitively. I guess now you're a musician :)
