I'm in my 20s now, I learned to drive tractors on our 60s JD 1010 RU. My mom recently hit 'middle age' as she says and she tells me about putting the 1010 in 1st gear and then jumping on the 3 point platform to put out hay after hopping off the bus at 10. Theres certainly more rare tractors, and even more rare models of the 1010 that have crossed my family's path (there was a 1010 crawler that showed up in probably the 80s, and I have my eye on a 1010 industrial I found in a guys bone yard) but that RU will always be something special. Even with 100+hp and cab tractors with radios i still use it to put out round bales from time to time.

im 15 and first tractor i owned was a 1010 my dad got for 800$ and it was a beautiful tractor. sold it then got a industrial 1010 with a loader. after we sold it we got another 1010 for 800$ and spent the whole 2018 summer break rebuilding the entire rear end. turns out it had a cracked block and cracked head. but it ran absolutely perfect. always start 1st crank and never had to choke it. we sold it sometime in 2020 i believe around april.
