Hi bud I wanted to realy thank you for showing what a Fire looks like up close and personal.
Your Video coverage is Absulootly incredible no Reporter has ever filmed in your face fires like this.
If anyone reading this who is with the media this young man deserves an award for this film he has done. If anyone knows quality Reporting it's me. So thank you for risking your life to document the Alberta Wildfires. I have never seen such perfict Video Capture of a Wild Fire done this perfict . You should see this on 8k TV even if it's not 8k you filmed this in.
I worked and have driven every single Road in Alberta from highway 3 bc Alberta all the way to zama I was a rigger for few years moving Drilling Rigs then driving longhall oil field Liquid Nitrogen. The area you filmed I know that area extremely well and it is sad to see this happen.
I only pray that the fire does not go into the hills around Hinton Alberta, There are thousands of wells up there, one of the Most Dangerous wells is 7.7 it was back in my 20 pushing 1.2 Million of Hydrogen sulfides Gas it's so dangerous there is a Horn on the North West hills Near the Gas prossesing facility built just to handle the one well. They have to constantly bring in Frac company's to shut the well in set up Coil Tube Rig 10 Liquid Nitrogen tankers chemicals crew, once they have put another large well Head that is made for well clean out they have to use the Liquid Nitrogen delivered down well in maga pressure to keep the H2S gas from coming up causing a Deadly disaster that can and will wipe Hinton Jasper Edson killing every single human exposed to that much deadly h2s Gas should anything go wrong. They Absulootly have to do this to chemically clean out the well pipe that goes thousands feet into the earth. H2s builds up sulfer yellow dark Brown Sulfer so there is no blockage in the pipe . So ya if the fire hits that what a blast that would be.
How many well heads have been burned so bad they are leaking h2s methane or oil condsate.
I am shocked the media has not said a word about all the oil gas well heads you want see Armageddon just hope this is not going on 0.01 % of h2s will kill you fast.
Thanks again For this amazing video you deserve an award for that 100%
    All the best
    Sean

Great narration! Thank you for the education of a really of what we take for granted. The beautiful forest that has taken years to grow and give us beautiful scenery takes but a moment to disappear into nothingness from flames.
I appreciate your risking your life to share with us what it is like to watch our greatness turn into an ash groved landscape!
    Be safe, great footage!!

I drove through Slave Lake in early 2000 during a wildfire, that was pretty gnarly. Walls of flame on either side of the road. Part of the crew was behind me and were stopped by a helicopter landing on the highway, that made for a 3 hour detour for them. We were working up in Wabasca and the chief told us that we were surrounded by fire and that if a helicopter landed near the site and told us to get in - no questions, just go.

Also, given your background in Wildlands firefighting, you're particularly well suited for this type of journalism. I hope you keep a shelter with you as a last resort.

The smoke is just awful in southeast Idaho. It's affecting people's health here. I can't imagine how horrible it must be for our northern neighbors.

Wow! that is both horrifying yet beautifully shot. your work has a very professional feel, and the csnera work/editing is excellent. My only critique would be some occasional pauses for effect, especially after you describe sounds (and those sounds are shocking ). Over all an amazing coverage and thank you for the journey. I'm surprised you don't have a bigger following. I'm going to subscribe because storms are beautifully if also destructive. most of my content, although less destructive, is also greatly feared, yet beautiful. btw, I found your channel through stealth camping Steve. Cheers and keep up the epic work.

I wonder how many people watching truly grasp the height and intensity of those flames. Even a single dry spruce tree bursting into flames is a sight to behold. An entire forest of them... It really doesn't translate to the small screen.

My husband helped take a rig camp down to Whitecourt from Grande Prairie. They're setting it up on a ball diamond for firefighters to stay in. Before the crew could come home they had to close the hwy because of the fire in Fox creek.Hopefully he only has to spend the one night.

It truly breaks my heart to see these poor animals suffering and running for their lives. How anthropogenic induced climate changed exacerbates these fires and obliterates their homes. That fire moves so fucking fast, and the heat and smoke burns their lungs as they desperately try to outrun it. It is hard to imagine the slower moving and baby animals that cannot escape the flames and are burned alive. I am so scared that nothing will ever change.
It is devastating to think about how green energy was pushed many presidents ago (Jimmy Carter in the states), but the oil companies did an extremely good job of pushing misinformation that climate change is just a myth to scare the public, and it worked. Now we witness the quickly growing intensity of their horrible actions. Imagine if we had turned to greener energy decades ago when scientists were sounding the alarm...what a different world this would be.

firefighters on the ground don't fight that intensity of fire. Its even difficult for aircraft to do so. only indirect attack like reducing fuels with heavy equipment or fighting fire with more fire work at that point.
