Cooking Mexican Cornbread Casserole! (No talking) Mixing, frying & measuring~Yummy dinner~ASMR

- This is my second attempt at this Casserole. This first one was not filmed because I just wasn't sure of anything. My husband said that he didn't like how sweet it was. So here is my second attempt with an adapted recipe according to me. No sugar. I really love how it turned out! However, if you attempt this recipe as I wrote it, please keep in mind that it needs more moisture in the meat mixture. Maybe a little tomato sauce? Maybe more cheese? Definitely do not use anything but real cheese, shredded from fresh blocks of cheddar or Monterey Jack. The pre-shredded does not work in this casserole. It has preservatives in it that suck out the much needed moisture and does not melt well. One more thing....sour cream topping is an absolute must. Once I went out and bought some, the rest of the casserole was soooooo good. Remember that this is ASMR and I am not trying to teach y'all how to cook. The recipe is a basic formula that needs to be played with. And it's all over the internet. Find your favorite.

Oh that's wonderful, Katherine! I guess it's a casserole, but not exactly. It's in the family of shepherds pie. Just remember to either put more tomatoes or tomato sauce, or something to give it more moisture! 👍🏻😀❤️❤️❤️

Yeah, it's not authentic Mexican food. But it's really tasty. Don't forget to add something extra for more moisture. Maybe tomato sauce or canned tomatoes or creamed corn. It was a bit on the dry side.

Yes! I unpacked the last of the boxes just yesterday. What a relief! And we have stopped playing musical furniture. I think everything is going to stay where it's at for a good while. Correct: Pre-shredded cheese has an additive to prevent it from sticking together in the bag. Personally, ive had no issues with it... If the heat is high enough, it will melt the same as any cheese. Perhaps, its because Im not a chef, but instead an everyday housewife that cooks with shredded cheese on the regular? Lol, idk. Thank you for the content, Rebecca!! Fantastic, as always. ❤

Yes, that additive is potato starch and changes the constitution of the cheese altogether. Of course it will melt. What I was trying to explain is that potato starch will dry things up.
From a Google article I read:
One of the main uses for potato starch is as a thickener in a variety of recipes because it absorbs water effectively.
Which, of course, defeats my purpose for more moisture. You see what I mean?
If we use regular cheese, it will maintain its moisture and grease and will have a better effect on any recipe. 👍🏻😀❤️❤️❤️

@XYZ910 Yes! I am always doing something! 😂 But I do feel it's so important to slow down and absorb every thing we do. I am maternal to a fault so if I don't fit in with zodiac signs that's okay! 😅 I think the personality profiles are a reliable indicator. Since you are INFJ, I can totally see why your head is full of ideas. My daughter and my husband are INFJ and they have sooo many dreams but they don't very often get about fulfilling them. Well I have bee many years in a care sector as care assistant doing pretty simple job on minimum wage which turns that was not so simple job and we had so many tasks and duties to do in busy environment so I kind of burn out of it plus I start having problem with joints a bit, but I loved it anyway help others etc. Now I’m going towards support work and I’m starting doing some more crafty things so hopefully I can sell them and showing and sharing this maybe on instagram. So this is the thing I have got so much ideas, so many things I wanna do-but yes INFJ it’s a lot in a head first, always mentally preparing first,planning so much gosh I think I master that-I have endless lists of plans,schedules etc and I’m so detailed orientated and crave perfection so I would love to sell good quality product from my heart. So my lesson is to go more for things,less planning, doing step by step things, and getting motivated by small progress but steady. Actually it made me a bit depressed that and tired, but since I discover INFJ tendency at least I know what’s wrong and how can I changed this. And that’s what my Aries mother was teaching me too-be more on practical level instead of having visions. She was just saying-just do it and lose yourself in a process hahaha. And your channel helps me loads and probably many INFJ watching you as well-cos you just doing things, by your hands in very grounded mindful way. And I discover ASMR not long maybe 3 years ago and absolutely fall in love with it and I can see tendency now towards this more real videos like for example real person ASMR instead just role play and faking things and even sound a bit… Thats me personally anyway. And that’s why I really think that ASMR is more than maybe people even think-because we usually as humanity growing and developing through hard times and stress so we have got that cycle that bad times makes strong people and then good times make weak people and that’s why we have so many problems and crisis because of that. Is like people need pressure and stress to actually doing things but my point is that we can live in a comfortable and secure space-we need that but we can still going forward-doing things but in a relaxed calm more healthy way.
