    Theoretical Capacity=375mAh
    Actual Shown=~290mAh
    Current during charge 15Amps
Thank you EasyTech. Sadly, the experiment is slightly flawed, because the meter is not hooked up properly during the charging, so we don't see what goes into the 500F capacitor. Additionally, the poor power supply is dropping way below it's rated 3.3V output, so many, many amps were flying during the charge up.
To calculate how much is stored, we can approximate it based on the output power. The motor is just a big resistor/inductor, regardless if the label says 12V. The current out of the capacitor is 2.7v @ 0.30amp at start and slows down to 1.4V @ .25amp (less power output) by the end. The average between the two is mAh equivalent into this motor resistor. If we run for one hour at 2.7v @ 0.3 amps that would be 810mah, however the motor actually ran for 1/2 hour, so 405mAh consumed. At the end of 30 minutes, it was using less power at 1.4V @ .25 amps, so that would be 350mah, but running at only 1/2 hour, that is half at 175mAh consumed. The average between the start and end mAh consumption is very roughly 290mAh used in 30 minutes by the motor and might be slightly higher if the voltage/current drop is not linear.
If we calculate the max storage based on the Super Cap Ratings (credit goes to RuggedCircuits over at Arduino Forum) 500F x 2.7 v = Q = 1350 Coulombs of charge. Now 1 mAh is 0.001 Columbs per second (0.001A) multiplied by 3600 seconds or 3.6 Coulombs. So I think the capacitor is equivalent to 1350 / 3.6 = 375mAh (Pretty Amazing and close!!)
#Danger Risk#, if you push 10+ Amps into a super cap, it may exceed the max input current and heat up, melt, explode (high voltages) or short internally, check the manufacturer sheet first!
If we want to know how much that very sad power supply had to source into the Super Cap over only 1.5 minutes, we again use average voltage of 1.1V to 2.7V over 90 seconds. The power supply was hopefully being current limited during the charging, so that it would not melt internally. The average voltage was 1.9V during charge and lets assume 375mAh went into the Super Cap, which is the calculated rated max above. That would be 60min / 1.5min total = 40 times more than the one hour capacity went in within 1.5 minutes, which works out to 40 * 0.375amp/hr = 15.0 Amps exactly. That is a lot of current from the poor power supply!!! The total power into the super cap was likely 1.9V x 15 amps = 28.5 Watts instantaneous Hope this helps.
If people repeat this, consider adding a power resistor between your charger and the SuperCap, so that neither your charger nor the SuperCap die. A number to keep the current below 3.3 amps @ 3.3V would be a 1 Ohm 20Watt Power Resistor in series

I am brand new to electronics/self sufficiency etc so please forgive this question but you clearly know what you're talking about, but i am fascinated with the super capacitor and the power it has. Would it be possible to run a 500w electric heater via a 12v Inverter and charge controller using the 6 super capacitors in series as it's power source charged with a hand crank generator?

So 5 of those in series would get you 13.5 volts. Another 20 of those (25 all together), 5 sets in series of 5 parallel would get you 13.5 volts, 5 times as long. As long as the drop is the same as that motor. Thats not bad.

    Hi,
I am from a computer science background and I don't have much knowledge on electrical and electronic things.
I have drone which was built by assembling all the drone essential requirements.
I have a battery which is 5200 mah, 11.1v 35C. I think I can continuously fly the drone for 10-15 minutes.
Now I am thinking of another power source , which is tethered drone. I don’t mind drone tethering
I have an idea in my mind to build the tethered drone. I am not sure whether it will work for me or not. Please help me on that.
On the Ground I use AC power supply which is 230 volts and use some 14 - 22 gauge wire for 100 feet and at the drone end convert AC 230 volt to DC 12.5 volt. I mean some kind of adapter(AC to DC , 230 volts to 12 volts 1 amps) I will use. Now I am worried about is the amps which is required by the drone motor. I have a 180000uF 50V Electrolytic Capacitor which weighs about 700 grams. So when the capacitor gets charged from the source side and discharges at the other end.
Will the discharge side able to run the drone motors? Please help me on this.
And I also have some super capacitors, Can I use those capacitors.
I am providing you some link on the capacitors which I have already purchased.

Your 3000F capacitor can store roughly 11k joule energy (E=CV^2/2). Theoretically with a 2.7 volt 5 amp constant voltage/current input, you'll fully charge your capacitor from 0v to 2.7v in 814 seconds which is about 13.6 minutes.

Your capacitor probably has a much smaller capacitance than this 500 farad supercapacitor. Most 25v capacitors have a capacitance of around 4700 uF(micro farad) which is 0.0047 farad and is only about a hundred thousandth of what the capacitor in the video has. Your capacitor can store less then one joule of energy while his can store 1800 joule so your capacitor's charging time will be instantaneous compared to his .
