  • In this video, I am going to use a few super capacitors of rating 2.7v 500f for making a powerful high current supercapacitor or ultra capacitor battery pack. Links for the super capacitors have been provided below along with their balancing charger board link. All the capacitors will be connected in Series to reach a max of upto 12 volts DC so that I can use it in many 12V applications and test it on various high current DC Motors like Starter Motors upto 100 amperes.

When soldering, heat the connection first and apply solder to the JOINT, not the iron. It's especially important to get the foil trace on the board hot enough so that solder will flow into the through-hole.

  • @johannesnel8875
    @johannesnel8875 3 роки тому +258

Sorry for the criticism, but your soldering technique need some serious work. You are making dry joints all the way, that will come loose with the least bit of pressure or vibration.. First solder on the copper track with a little bit fresh solder so that the copper is "tinned". If you have some flux available it is a good idea to apply some on the bare copper track, but not necessary if your solder wire have a resin core. Do the same with the component, in this case capacitor's pin. Just "tin" it withe a thin layer of solder. Now, fit the capacitor and apply the soldering iron against both the pin and copper track, and at the same time apply a bit of solder. You will find that your solder will smoothly flow into a perfect connection. The idea is that both the copper track and component pin must be just hot enough to melt the little bit of solder on them by themselves, and therefore the solder "bind" to the copper. When you then install the component and re-heat both at the same time, the solder flow and fill the gap as a single "entity", and you just apply a little bit extra solder to fill it up nicely. Now that you have taken some time to calm down, just try it and if you want to, thank me, but advice is free after 40+ years experience.. :-)

One little hint: to get a good solder joint, you should first heat up the pad and the pin of the part and apply the solder while still holding the solderingiron onto it. Do that until the pad is covered in solder. To check if the joint is ok, just look at it closely. If the solder is reflecting and even, it's good. If it is uneven and matt, add a little more flux and reheat it.
I hope you appreciate my expert advice.

you should solder by first heating the two parts with the solder gun, and once hot apply the tin solder. Never directly in the tip and then to the parts since it will lead to weak soldered joints.

Apparently he has habits from a transformer soldering iron. Of course, a tip soldering iron requires a different soldering procedure, but there are tip soldering irons that can immediately increase power, so they behave like transformer soldering irons.

If you have capacitors in series to meet the voltage, you have significantly lost their capacity. This way you only have 83F (17V) instead of 3000F (2.8V). Converters from 3V to 12V are relatively low-loss and would significantly increase the time of motor rotation or lighting. It is possible that all of this capacitor board allows (no data is provided around it).

    Amigo, boa Noite!
    Friend good night!
I have two observations to make:
1 - You should not put the solder on the tip of the iron and then put it in the circuit, because the solder burns when it is on the tip of the iron and loses its alloy, you must heat the parts to be welded and place the solder on them and not on the soldering iron tip.
2 - You soldered the capacitors on the wrong side, there are no components placed on top of each other, especially these mosfets that heat up.
Other than that the idea is good.

Just my thoughts here. Don't be afraid to really heat the joint/solder/copper leads up. Give it ALL time to reach the melting point and WAIT for the solder to actually flow away from the initial clump to a nice shiny lake. Then, pull the soldering iron away. You really have to work at it before you do any damage. Waiting is hard to do, but it gives the best results. Nice video.

The Capacitors should have been fitted on the other side of the board and also you have a louse soldering method. This way you make a dry or loose soldering which make the circuit an inefficient in performance. You have to be perfect in public display, otherwise you may get lot of trolls and you also really have to improve your soldering skills.

You should only have a very small ammount (next to none) solder on the tip.
You always melt the solder onto the thing u want to solder (ex u have a leg , u heat the leg with the iron tip , and melt the solder by touching it on that leg , not by touching on the iron tip.

How do you get energy? How does the motor rotate with capacitors without energy? Or are they batteries? What is sufficient is not to produce or store energy, but its role is to smooth out electricity and so on
