in close combat, f16 has no chance against late mig29, but against mig35 and in ranged combat

The F16 is honestly one of the cleanest looking jets out there. I just love its profile so much.
Me too. Always been my favorite. It was built by some amazing engineers. Built to be aerodynamically unstable so it can maneuver much better than any other American jet. Can turn on a dime or bream with missiles. Only one engine but that engine is POWERFUL. Like 30,000lbs of thrust powerful. Which pushes it past Mach 2. Simply amazing
It and the Rafale. They are both absurdly cool and gorgeous planes.

One of the most rewarding things in DCS is that precise half to one second burst to end a short but intense dogfight. Great video.

That reminds me of the real story of a F-22 patrol sneaking up on a pair of Russian fighters in the middle east (Iranian I think) a year or two back.
The lead moved closer to check out their loadouts and then pulled up next to them in formation. That's when they saw him and he just told them to go home! He pointed out that they still didn't know where his wingman was!

Every time this little gem pops up in my feed i always watch it over again. Even though it doesnt have all the fancy bells and whistles you've learned to edit into your newer videos (seriously the difference in quality of editing is insane) its still one of the most badass cinematics youve posted on here.

In 1990's when American pilots flew to Germany who then were the only western country to have Mig 29. They discovered in war games that coming up on a 29 was almost an impossible task. The mig could bank either left or right and close a full loop/circle and come up behind the F16 due to its less than 1 to 1 power to weigh ratio, at which point the F 16 would have an daunting task of trying to get away. Might 29 was also the very first jet that used pilot helmet missile lock system. The pilot simply could turn his head and look at anything in the sky, and lock on his missiles without pointing his jets nose at the target. It was a revolutionary jet in some aspects at the time it came out. But it lacked in other things like refined cocpit, since it still used analog reading instruments, when most Western jets had switched to digital readout instruments. Nevertheless its still one of my favorite jets just slightly behind Su 35. In terms of American jets the F4 phantom is still my all time favorite jet and I'd choose to fly it over any more modern jet that came after unless it was F14 which I also love so it would be a hard choice. There is something missing in modern jets that makes them dull and boring, they seem to lack a soul. And early jets despite being less technologically equipped were so much faster than modern jets. F35 is a pig with wings compared to F4 phantom or Tomcat F14, F15. Take for example Mig 21, which by no means is a beautiful jet, but there is something raw about it. Massive engine/afterburner producing bone crushing 15,640 pounds of thrust, delta wings, pointy sharp nose cone, and a better than 1 to 1 speed to weight ratio literally forced a smile on anyone flying this thing cause it literally peeled back your face during the duration of the flight. A 6 foot 2 inches individual taking off in this thing and landing back after an hour would exit the cocpit standing only at 4 feet 9 inches.

The F-16 would of only been able to sneak up on the mig-29 if the mig-29 had its radars off and the pilot didn't look in the mirrors
No, you can see in the F-16's HUD, it says "NO RAD" which means the F-16 silenced it's radar emissions at some point prior. The MiG's RWR has no idea that the F-16 is behind him.

@@teenagergamer181Fighter radars only point forwards. The only way the mig 29 wouldve known was if the 16s radar was on triggering the radar warning reciever (RWR) on the mig 29
