The Air Intake looks like a Formula 1 Intake and the engine revs over 10.000rpm. Absolutly Awesome, the Cars wight was under 600KG and the Power of the engine nearly 300Hp.
Another Great Hill Climb Racer - George Plasa - died this year, he was the record breaker of several hill climbs in Europe. Please hold him in memory with his great Drivingstyle and his Bmw Judd V8 Engine. (Formula 1 like engine)
Maximum Attack, for the whole run. 👌🔥. Man knows his car well. Wasn’t even going straight on the straights.
Low center of gravity & short wheelbase . The next size down is a roller skate.
Mesmerizing! Looks so effortless flowing around bends like that. That takes skill not many have
I had one of those in college. It handled great...mine was stock engine so not nearly this fast. But I can see why this guy used this car as a base. The handling on mine when I owned it was incedible
this one is actually hayabusa swapped, as in the engine from the motorcycle
That man knows how to drive!!! he knows his car well
I heard about him and that car years ago there are better videos of him doing his thing I think he had a brother that drove one too for the family name, and yes they do know that car backwards and forwards, I would love to see him in person because he makes for some good video! A car I dreamed of owning when I was a teenager!
Horrace Foster I have this car and I hope to modify it the way he modified it: The wing and side vent. Also an engine swap for the dual 124 engine including a lancia scorpion 5 spd gear box
Let me know how things are going just think the is still sexy after all these years and you can make it go as good as it looks!
Horrace Foster You have no idea how much I agree with you, But whatever this guy this with this blue car i want to do because he made the car sooo nice. i dont want to stray from the family of engines, and I dont want to use fiberglass. I am going to mold the metal and weld it.
That has got to be one of the best runs ever. A perfect blend of aggression and technical skill.
I love the barking noise it does as he downshifts. It adds a bit of cuteness to an otherwise absolute beast. I wonder what he does to reverse with that sequential motorcycle trans?
Who is this driver, is he in world rally? His car control is superb, and obviously the car is perfectly set up for him. Absolutely on the traction limit all the time. It's almost like watching Colin McRae.
+wordreet
He was the Italian Slalom Racing Champion in 2013 ;-)
Race NfunTv His car control is epic!!
bowtie mountain yes, with his dad. as I know he is 23 years now. at this run in the video he was 19 years.
bowtie mountain I believe that may be the case. Apparently this car has a Suxuki GSXR 1000 engine. Well we could all tell it was a bike engine from the epic revs and the sequential gear changes.
Look carefully at the beginning of the video...
thats awsome! two of my favorite things, busa's and italian cars all rolled into one, and what a driver. respect!
Lose the stupid cones for crying out loud and let the man drive!
lol u took the words right out of my mouth!
There are videos of him doing straight hill climbing that will really blow your mind, as he and that car blew away the competion, he raises crowds in Italy just to see him drive!
HotdogAnd aHayride a men brother
The guy that set up the cones is a school crossing guard
It's a Fiat. You need the cones to show both car and driver competence.
Put that sound as he's bangin through those gears on Google play so I can buy it and listen to it on repeat :)
Jeez that' a brutal X/19... Anyone else really wanna buy one now
i would, but the amount of work it takes it get it to that state is probably too much haha
My dad had one when I was about 3 or four back in the 80's it was cool. X 1/9 bertone.
My dad used to own one back in the day, really wish he'd kept it
Got one, 85 hp though :)
Never seen a car steered so much through rear end slide, while also perfectly under control at every moment, with no "lurid" moments at all. Insane performance - by both car and driver.
Twin black lines at 1min22 and 1min52 imply limited slip diff.
That's the stuff.. Love is the sound of precision.. Love and appreciation is the viewing of this video.. I cannot wait to do some of that.. in the middle of a Icsunonove Dallara Bertone replica.. won't be as crazy as that.. mine is designed for street but it is a full race build with all the street legal lights and rules.
thats great :) I hope you enjoy it! watch my other videos or write me back what videos I should do next. :)
I'm honored you commented / email me back.. This video makes my hairs stand on end every time... Great piece of video work. Are you part of the team?
It would be nice to see the suspension setup for the X19 and something on the engine, to make it move that quickly and with that much agility
The car's handling is at perfection!
That was most excellent.Have to admit that after about 30 seconds, I couldn't stop chuckling. Such a hyper little animal.
Yes open wheel / non prod. bodied (formula xx) cars are faster, but this car and driver are in almost perfect harmony, just look how perfectly he slides it. Look at how light and nimble the steering is, how easily corners are taken. Very very nice racing. A monster power car like loebs custom peugeot with 800 or 900 hp will also be faster, but that's not the point. for a NA, small disp. motor, this is an amazing car/driver combo. Uploader should have said 'fastest hillclimb car in the world in it's class' Don't know if that's true, there may be others in this perticular class with more wins / better times, but surely this car is one to be reckoned with. Wish we had more hill climb RR's here in the us, not just pikes peak.
Wise words!
This was an spectacular run, no doubt, but the car is all over the place, like you said, probably is the best of its class, but a formula car would blast past this thing! Saying its fastest in the world is a huge understatement!
+aydinvideo You got carried away with Loeb's car.It would beat this car on classic hillclimb race, but on hillclimb slalom, this X1/9 would slay it.
Watching him slalom is hypnotizing!
Get the builder and driver of this car on the way to F1 entry jobs. This car and driver are harmony together. Always in the power band, always pointed in the right direction. Something very special happening here....
How is it a RWD having 300+hp and still handle so well? :O
Unbelievable driving!
Amazing!!
it isn't handling at all... look how fiat is loosing grip in every corner. So BIG bravo for the driver!
Szymon Niewrzał
Looks like the rear has been deliberately left loose to tackle the cone slaloms. so the driver has to deal with the loose rear end everywhere else on the course!
Szymon Niewrzał it's probably setup that way..
mid engine, low weight, wide tires and the doctor of steering wheel. its not easy to drive but some can for sure
Whether or not the CAR is the fastest, that drive is a lesson in car control. Beautiful to watch!
I'm sure this is a dumb question... If you hit a cone are you disqualified or just docked a few seconds?
The way the rear end sit so flat and wages around corners makes me ask does this car run a high rear roll centre with maybe a little pro dive in the front end . Love to hear from the builder .
Is that a Busa motor, or some Japanese liter bike motor? It sounds great. Especially the shifts.
Love the sound...sounds pissed off...superb driving skills on display...
Direction changes are like wrist flick gear changes. Amazing!
love the sound when he is downshifting
crazy how the tail floats like it does during acceleration. has to be a solid axle. drives like a shifter kart!
Awesome little X1/9. Looks like a blast to drive.
Wow, a great pilot with the biggest Cojones and a good machine. there is no substitute!!
GOOD DRIVER- WHAT TYPE OF MOTOR IS IN THAT "MITY MOUSE?"
ferrari
driving on the edge like a boss... respect!
Now THAT is what you call rotation. Look at how the back responds through the cones. It's no wonder he gets through the course faster than anything else. Clearly it's got big power, as is evident from the intake snorkel and loads of torque drivin' that acceleration.
I really like this car! Especially the NSX-R GT looking engine air scoop!
Love it ! Fast , very well sorted & dialed in car & a very proficient driver ...great vid. !
Dam, he makes the car dance, awesome river and awesome vid man. I think he's got a hayabusa motor on, there's a suzuki logo at the rear.
I would love to see the total build spec on this car. Not interested in HP, just how they put the chassis, body, and suspension together. I'd LOVE to have this vehicle at just half (or even less) of the HP. I'd want this as a DD (barely) streetable car, and yes, that could be done in the US. This is the only car that I've seen that makes me think "well, maybe Miata isn't always the answer". I have a Miata, but this car makes me shiver. It's absolutely spot on.
That song in 2.48 isnt that in some of Dj_games back in early 2000 or something? i used to have some music making program and that song is deffynetly from it , i just remember the name of it
i think it sounds like a bike engine? its not a formula one intake, its just a tube going from the roof and into the engine bay where a normal racing intake sits, iv seen this construction on many cars before like lotus Europas.
It is a Suzuki Bike engine with airbox like in the F1.
I would love to see a Fiat 500 or simular with a Kawasaki H2R Engine. This thing must be like a Rocket :>
@Dnaracer01 this is a particular type of driving called slalom very popular in italy.
they put cones everywhere they can :D
Going by the little red S where the left rear tail light should be and the revs? I'm saying one very trick Hyabusa engine!~
The way the car just dances around the corners and around the cones, just beautiful driving.
@EpicHotCheese
I don't know, probably to slow them down that there will be no deadly crashes ?
I'm honored you commented / email me back.. This video makes my hairs stand on end every time... Great piece of video work. Are you part of the team?
dont think so it is perfect setup for this track. it is good when you can use controlled oversteer a little bit for a racing driver!
this driver must have big balls
crazy to see how the tyres move on the edge over the road
nice driving very well
+Sanyamu Neko yes and he is was only 19 years old as he drove in this video. he won the italian slalom championship with this run.
wow hope he has a nice career as driver ahead !
wish him the best
+Sanyamu Neko he has a great family but he is not very Fame. I bet he could be a formula 1 driver or Touring Car driver, but it is all about money in this sad world.
yeah i know this hehe
that prevents me from doing motorsport too + i am not very talented too :D
What ecu/electronics? Sounds like nonhuman throttle blips. Thanks
i think its something susuki-powerd. It has the Susuki emblem printed on where the left taillight normaly is.
Has to be a motorcycle engine powering the car, very well sorted, nice set up, well done. ( Hyabusa ?)
Awesome! :-D This car turns in like crazy.
bonnet? where r u from? just wondering.
can i ask this car is 4wd or rwd ?
Dude is a great driver... I bet he was both stoked and worn out at the same time when he finished.
Simply stunning!
I have a old FIAT anyone know who sells the body kit? Also what trans is he useing?
Is this n/a or turbo?
The driver is Vincenzo Manganiello! ~ 20 years old. he is a absolute freak!!! after finishing school he set new track records!
Title it "Probably the best hill climb I have ever seen."
Beautiful run.
What car is it?
THIS IS INSANELY GREAT!
well engineered and balanced car :) a joy to watch.
What’s that car model ?
That's sick. Like an RC car 🤯
What type of Engine is in this monster? Damn! Sounds almost like Gixxer *suzuki gsxr engine/(s)?
Superb. What engine is in this? Clearly not the X19 standard mill haha
Can't believe that's an X1/9! The X1/9 I drove was nothing like that. It had great handling but it was definitely not fast. Fiat X1/9 + Suzuki GSX-R 1000 engine = utterly amazing.
that is one bad ass little car :D how many whp does it produce?
awesome driver. it would be nice to know what other cars were in this race.. .
how well does it compare to the escudo monster?
@MultiMarmellata
I know, we in germany have slalom, too. I drive slalom on my own with my car. But in germany we have a lot more pylons and not so great racetracks for slalom.
does it really need to change gear evry 1000rpms?
At a guess that thing weighs 650kgs and has probably around 300hp. So at most 2kgs per hp, which isn't that great. But ofcourse total weight is very low so corner speeds are insane and since its a bike engine it's revhappy and you get power down early. But what makes the speed is the driver, he was flawless through the cones for example.
Both the car and the driver are DIALED.
GREAT driving exhibition.
the guy who drive the car is insane!the way he speed drift the car, absolute beauty!
Bloody Awsome driving
Holy crap!! That thing has power to weight that is probably staggering. But whats impressive is the grip. Its just enough to get it into a loose controlable traction. The drive is smooth as well. I think this would make one hell of a gymkhanna car.
This is one very sweet quick X1/9... Brilliant....
Very very nice driving.... Amazing how he is able to control that rear end, its a bit like a dance.
is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of oversteer? Can someone explain to me if this is done on purpose? i thought it affected his corner acceleration but someone pls correct me
This car is a mid-rear engine car with very less weight on the front. they set up the car to a good balance between no-understeer and oversteer. it is more a wishing-rear than brutal oversteer. The car needs this to be fast in the slalom.
the vehicle is very well weighed. The pilot handle it very well
beast car, even more beast driver. sick video
It comes out of every corner sideways. I'm Loving IT!!!
Does every corner have a man-made chicane? That would take a lot of the fun out of it. I'm glad SCCA precludes speed restrictors in hillclimbs.
this cat CLEARLY knows how to steer the car with the loud pedal!!!!
That's how you steer with the throttle! Spectacular car and driver combination.
Awesome driving.
That car is awesome in breaking! Good driver and good setup.
What's up with the chicanes?
Is this a RC car? XD
Seriously the balance of the car is really good.
wow. i`ve seen and heard a lot of hillclimb cars and prototypes. this here is extra crazy. the driver has very good skills and his mechanics diid a very good job. wow wish he starts here in september in zotzenbach, a hill climb tracks where the last races took in the 90ies place, but slalom is an anual event, but with very weak cars. try on and thanks for uploading
That is... absolutely insane!!!
ARTIST!!!
I think I see a Suzuki "S" on the left rear of the car...could it be a gutted X1/9 with a Hyabusa engine?? He's really working that sequencial gearbox too!! Wonderful video...I agree...too many chicanes!!
isn't that a bike engine? I saw the suzuki logo, hayabusa powered x1/9?
The bonnet flapping has to be slowing him down, but he is still damn fast. Nice run.
F1 car engine and chassis?
anyone know of any pictures/video of engine, trans. final drive?
it rotates beautifully!
Best sounding engine ever!
wow, awesome driving and a bad ass car.
