As a current Maserati owner, I think this car is beautiful and it definitely is on a different level from a quality standpoint compared the last Gen Maserati models (Ghibli, QP6, and Levante. However, I think this car is severely overpriced for the performance it offers and I understand that if they made it more powerful then it would be approaching the flagship MC 20. The modena should've started at about 145k with the trofeo starting at maybe 170k. A fully optioned trofeo shouldn't break 200k. Let's be honest, in most cases a Maserati cost more than it's rivals, is more expensive to maintain long term but yet they always fall behind from a Performance stand point. The netunno is a new engine so we don't know how its going to do long term but historically the german rivals tend to be slightly more reliable as well. That's my observation as a Maserati owner but let's see how this new Gran Turismo does.

The ferrari V8 has also been around for a while, and they have all the bugs worked out on that engine. The netunno is allegedly "all new," and with the added complexity of the pre combustion chamber, I don't see it being as reliable as the V8. At least not in the first few years. Hopefully, they will prove me wrong on that point, though.
I bought a Grecale trofeo for my wife, and have been looking at a 2+2 coupe dad car for myself, but really struggling with the pricing. It is the same interior and drivetrain as Grecale trofeo. For that kind of money it needed more product differentiation, perhaps with the higher rpm mc20 engine, and more premium features like a glass roof and carbon brakes

A lot of money, but considering it's placed in the big beefy 5 meters long GT cars niche (like the new DB12, Bentley Continental GT, and with a step down in exoticism also the M850i/M8 Comp and previous S Class Coupe) it's not that mind-blowing imo. I like this more than the DB12 aesthetically, but rationally the Aston gives you more (a V8 just to say one thing) for basically the same money. I'd still take this over a DB12 and also an MC20.
A beautiful and much needed redesign. However, the $200K+ price point is over the top. The options offered should have been included as standard for this trim.
i think they should have priced it lower as it makes little sense to have two cars in the same price bracket. great car though even if i miss the manual
great review...sadly no dials to quickly change cabin temp/fan speed whilst driving around a bend...fine on a playstation but in the real world crashing a car hurts!!!!

This is definitely way more premium than previous generations Maserati GranTurismo. But that previous generation Maserati GranTurismo & GranCabrio, especially the GranCabrio MC Stradale 4.7L V8 NA is my dream Maserati along the older generation Quattroporte GTS 4.7L V8 NA. Whereas this generation GranTurismo it's nice but it's not like it has me wowed. I think of this generation I really like the Grecale especially in the Trofeo trim. It's very spacious & luxurious. Personally not a fan at all of that screen inside. Similar set up I think is was JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) had in their previous generations Range Rover. Really hated it because aesthetically it ruins the seamlessness of the clean interior on these new generation Maseratis. And don't get me started changing the gear using touch screen buttons. That's blasphemous especially on a Maserati
230!? yikes. think it should be priced to compete with the aston vantage... at 230k, thats too close to my MC20 price tag of 255k (granted my MC20 spec would have been 275k for a 2024) and the MC20 is in a whole different class compared to the GT. A new vantage at just under 200K is much more appealing as its built for the same purpose as the GT but it looks and sounds better, is probably faster, and has a bit cooler badge. (also could just go used GT and save almost 200K and get a v8!)
This is going to be a touchy subject for sure. When i first broke the estimated price (back when i wasnt supposed to) I even said myself I thought it was a bit high. Not I cant say that I have any push seeing as I couldnt afford it regardless so it was hard for me to even put a value on but I was simply comparing it to what we know and love from the old GT. The price debate will be a big one for years to come.
I just got a 2024 Maserati GT Trefeo. As soon as I was finished signing the paperwork, the manager tells me that I can't take the car because of a recall regarding the suspension system. On top of that the parts they need can't be shipped by air, they have to arrive by boat from Italy for some reason, which will take at least 3 weeks. I'm just waiting for my title to come in so maybe I can dump this on some other poor shmuck. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!

I remember those days that you can buy a GT for under 70k just for the base model. The car looks beautiful, but 170k is a bit much for a Mazi.

Where would you have priced it? Keep in mind the 2018-2019 models started in the $140k range

It is now but is Maserati's inhouse engine. Now does it share any parts of that powerplant, who knows. Maserati wont say.
