Gday from Australia! Ive got the identical frame braces and flat racer fork brace on my 1983 R65 which is road registered and can say it feels a lot tighter than any previous airhead ( including 2 other 65s) Ive ridden. Feels as one through the corners with no noticeable flex. Lovely bike you have and great to watch your video.
Great video and congratulations! Would love hear about the other mods you have made to make the bike race ready? Suspension , breaks etc? Also is the race featured part of a series or championship ?
That race was at a tiny makeshift circuit in west wales called Tonfanau. One of four rounds held each year, I finished up second in the championship behind Rob North man. I did beat him twice in the last round, but too little too late. The BM has now got the front end off a K75S with R100R front wheel. I raced for years with ATEs but it just wont stop quick enough on our tight circuits. The engine is now hopped up some, high comp, sports cam, flowed heads etc. The rear shocks are longer to lift the rear, forks dropped through the yolks. Del Ortos of course. Goes well, handles reasonable.
@@rustynuts82 thanks for that. I’ve got a r60/6 and was thinking about making some improvements to breaks and suspension , Im near wales, in Gloucestershire, when is the next event there? Regards
@smith4010 www.tonfanauroadracing.co.uk/ Copy and paste for the club website. Racing kicks off Easter weekend. I think your 60/6 has a drum front which might be hard to improve. A set of IKON shocks will make a difference. Most put new springs in the front too. But its a lovely old bike and deserves to be ridden gently…….ish!
