    Nice helpful takedown video! If you pull the grips straight back after field strip, you can then remove the entire firing mechanism from the frame. There is a locking pin near the bottom rear of the frame that is visible thru the magazine well. Push in while applying pressure down on the hammer assembly and the whole thing slides out the bottom of the frame! Wonderful guns to own and shoot. Wish every gun owner in America would get over “...looked like a 1911 to me” none sense. The Spanish Star Model 30, 31, Megastar, and Ultrastar are handguns every shooter should hope to find and shoot someday.

    Thanks. The Star is a great gun. Won the Guns and Ammo Handgun of the year award in 1991. Now I know how to take
    it apart.

      Yes that video was good. There simple to takedown. Great guns. His looks pretty good. I have the 30Ml and mine still looks brand new. I remember in great shape they were worth $300 and with some wear they were only worth $200. Now they’ve gone up. I wouldnt sale mine for $500. $500 just wont buy the quality handgun that star/ starfire built. I love the all steel. Heavy feel which helps with recoil for perfect shots every time.

      It sound shot, you want to sell it? (kidding) Your going to have to remove the slid stop. Pull it straight out may need leverage. I really learned something from you post. Thank you

    Yeah I got down to having the pin out and one half of the safety switch off but it still didn't effect the extractor assembly. Do I work the rest of the left side safety nob out because I tried that but I can't afford to get a gunsmith every time I get problems with my guns. And I definitely can't afford the newest high speed 9mm $800 Sig either.
    Can't put my faith in a pistol that fails and can't spend on the greatest.

    The mark on mine is off about a 1/16 of an inch. It have to let the slide go forward just a little bit to take the slide stop out. If you can't get the slide stop out using the marks, move the slide back and forth a little bit while putting pressure on the slide stop pin on the other side.

    Just like my CZ to field strip and looks like it too. Where did you get this beautiful piece? I'm very interested depending on the price.

    Hey man, great Video, i have heard there is a "chambered" notifier on the gun that give you an indication when a round is chambered. can you confirm and possibly show me?
    I also have an M30 but i dont see any difference. would be great if you know.
    Anyone else in comments maybe know?

    My wife got me the ULTRA 9mm years ago and like a dumbass I traded it away. I've owned 3 different STAR pistols, the ULTRA was hands down the best of them.

    How do you remove the extractor claw from the slide frame!!??

    • @ElCineHefe
      @ElCineHefe 6 років тому

      Hienz Guderian - If I remember right, look at the slide from the rear.
      See the extractor plug on the right side?
      It's in the same location as a Colt 45 pistol.
      That's the extractor spring retaining plug. You will need to remove that bit.
      To do that, you have to remove the firing pin retaining plate (using the slide stop), then remove the firing pin, then pull out the plug on the right side of the slide.
      I think it may be grooved where the plate holds it in place, as far as I can remember.
      I don't remember exactly which removed part besides that (if any) keeps that plug from shooting out under tension (so wear glasses and don't let it fly) but once it's out, there's a spring sandwiched between a metal plunger behind the plug and a metal cone at the end that engages the extractor. Nothing else holds the extractor in place.
      The extractor jiggles out the side of the slide when those parts are removed.
      I hope that helps.

    How do you remove the grips of this model?

    • @ElCineHefe
      @ElCineHefe 6 років тому

      Luther East - If I can remember from decades ago, to get the grips free, you will have to remove the backstrap. There are NO screws.
      To do that, remove the slide, barrel and recoil spring. The slide stop is your disassembly tool.
      Set the hammer down forward to release hammer tension, then push out the pin at the base of the backstrap using the slide stop.
      Then pull the hammer straight up and the entire backstrap lifts straight up from the frame.
      You don't need to pull it all the way out necessarily but I would just to clean the mechanish, since it's out.
      *The hand grips should fall away.*
      Note the metal groves molded into the grips. One side hooks the mag well, the other hooks the backstrap. That is what holds them in place without any screws.
      That backstrap contains the fire control bits and it pulls free to clean and disassemble, if you ever have to replace a part. Otherwise, leave the parts in place and just clean them.
      Hope that helps.

    I have one. Its great. A lot more accurate than my Glock 19.
    Almost no recoil . quite heavy though.

      adhesh rajdhew The weight does help minimize the recoil, I love mine, a very solid pistol

    • @ElCineHefe
      @ElCineHefe 6 років тому

      novlet22 - Remove the backstrap and use a punch to release the sear. The hammer will release.
      It sounds like someone didn't correctly reassemble your fire control mechanism in the backstrap..

    More like a 1911 ish pistol, it looks like more like a derivated of a Browning Hi Power 1935 or a CZ-75 (which is also a derivated of a Browning Hi Power)

  • @LJ-gu2dj
    @LJ-gu2dj 4 роки тому

    This seems like a knockoff of the CZ 75. The way the slide comes off is very similar. There are some differences, but pretty minor just at first glance.

    Did anybody know this weapon has two safety features ? one is the ambidextrous safety that locks the firing pin. The other is in the fully seated hammer if you pull the hammer gently and very slowly you'll feel and hear a click where the hammer locks in place 2/16" away from the firing pin this is in case you drop your gun and lands on the hammer it wont go off in case you forgot to have your main safety on .😉
