- New BeamNG update helps steering wheel players with understeer and oversteer. It is now easy to drift in BeamNG even on a 900 degrees steering wheel. Trying out different drift cars and different locations for drifting. I have AI traffic enabled as well so quite a few funny crashes today. BeamNG seems to have optimized their game as well, there is less lag with AI cars now. It helps to have good wheel settings as well obviously.

Well, that's what it is now, beamng's grip physics before that update were awful as soon as you broke traction, the devs themselves even mentioned something about incorrect calculations/implementation of dynamic friction
It is now more realistic, it is emulating the EPS/EPAS in modern cars.
We don't care about "easy drifting", we care about realism as it is the game's goal and does it amazingly well.
yea but I'm on goosiests page because I like watching him drift because I'm absolute trash at it.

@@amboujee i mean if someone would pay for the amount of times i purposely crash into the wall I would, but in beamng I don't have to pay or get injured so i think its nice to have some realism in there :)

@@b3mu573 If you play the game for more than just the crashes you will notice that the only thing BeamNG does not simulate well are tires-heat/model and aero (which I believe they will be overhauling very soon because of the amount of requests for it). Everything else is done really well including the engines, suspension, and weight (I love tearing my bumpers off with node grab :D) and sure it may not feel as good as IRacing or ACC but it simulates so much more than them, and with the games constant updates I believe BeamNG will surpass every sim in terms of physics. I just wish people would stop thinking its just a crash physics demonstration like it was at the start because it is so much more than that now and will continue evolving into something great.

beamng is so much easier to drift now its insane . its still like assetto corsa on ice but its still crazy good if you take in everything else all the physics damage etc nothing competes

@@KMPTK You can turn the understeer & oversteer assists off in the gameplay settings, though, so that's a plus. I think it was implemented for keyboard players more than anything
what are your setting i cant seem to get good wheel drifting
I was pleasantly surprised when i came back after 1+ year hiatus. The driving is sooo much better than it was. Much smoother at high speeds ( and better fps ? optimization maybe ? ) Every time i come back to this game i feel like i should send the devs a 20 because it feels like a new game.

I'd love to see you try some custom tuning for drifting, especially changing away fro the dumb drift tires, do a suspension overhaul, maybe a mod for steering angle.. it makes drifting actually feels nice, now with the assists it should be even better.. premade variants are still, sadly, trash

@@Goosiest also I just got a wheel and I made a mistake by getting Beamdrive as my first drifting game but I just got carx drift and I'm loving it
I highly recommend using the 200bx with one of the v8 engine swap mods with the twin turbo. It adds way more power and makes drifting so much more satisfying
I can’t tell today when I was drifting the 2015 mustang gt in beam ( the well made mod) I noticed that the game now countersteers for you, although not enouph to correct the car it makes it easier to make adjustments while you slide, I then tried this in the pro runner gavril on a offroad track and it did over correct when I oversteered to make the turns

got this game 2 days ago and boy am i a terrible drifter lmao! been really liking that BMW looking cars drift variant though! haven’t messed with mods or tuned any cars yet or anything like that but my friends and i are going to be setting up BeamMP soon and that will be stupid fun!

Hey goose! I've tooken a look at some of my old playstation games and I tried one named Shift 2: Unleashed,
I don't know if i'm just bad at it but drifting is impossible
(You *need* to unlock the drift chapter by doing a couple races though!)

the best drift car in beamng is the etk i series with a street/race/rally tribrid setup with awd and the "totally not a Mercedes evo engine" and racing brakes, no roll cage and all unneeded weight removed, its fast, goes everywhere and it corners hard in both grip and drift, all without drift steering/steering lock, infact, its quick ratio rally steering, tho my one still needs a lot of fine tuning, and since the new update, i have to start over rebuilding it...again
