What an awesome transformation. Unbelievable!!! Thanks again for my amazing gift and as you can see I’m now proudly sporting him as my image! Cheers and Happy Fathers Day! 👍🏽
Inspired mate as always, your ability to bring these items back to life and their former glory is staggering, I don’t collect action man but very much appreciate them and the place they hold in the collecting world. Looks stunning Dave, bravo sir 👏👏👏👏
Cheers Luke!! 👍 There's a lot of Action Man stuff that's really tatty - not surprising as they were designed to be played with, it's always satisfying to restore them. And on top of that, they're the original Hot Toys 🤣 so look great on display. Thanks for the continued support!! 🤘 Always appreciated.
@@colinmcphedran155 There are no guarantees - i always hand wash in cold water but even then sometimes the colour can run. The ceremonials are worst as the gold is particularly delicate.
You're so meticulous, so careful and so precise in your restorations Dave 🤩 You never seem to back away from the most intricate details too which is so impressive. What a gorgeously restored Action Man and horse in the end 😍 I was thinking that you must have a magnifying glass or something to see some of these pieces, and I think I saw you wearing some headwear near the end which Im guessing is the magnifier? 😉👍
Thanks Matt! 👍 Yeah I often use a magnifier that fits around my head - mostly because I'm in denial about my eye sight but I find it helps to see the details when restoring - just results in a better job 🤘 The horse is surprisingly impressive!
Im sure my rich adopted cousin had the Action Man horse but a brown one. He definitely had the tank. I was super jealous as a kid in the early 80s. Great vid!👍🏻
Thanks Mike! 👍 Thought I'd try an alternate format for restorations that are less involved - will see what happens but to be honest it hasn't done very well so far 😎
Wow, Dave! What an absolutely stunning video. It's so relaxing to watch you delicately and meticulously restore this beautiful figure and horse. You have so much more patience than I ever could. And this is an interesting approach where you didn't do any talking, you just let your work be the example of what was going on. And great soundtrack as well. One of my favorite parts of this video is being able to see you at the end in the reflection of his breastplate. It came out beautifully. Excellently done, sir!
Thanks Paul! 👍 Appreciate your comments! Wanted to try an alternate style for smaller restorations. Don't think VTR can ever be accused of having a boiler plate approach to videos 🤣 Glad you picked up on the soundtrack - it took a while to find and choose - just another mad thing I do. It wasn't until the edit that I noticed the reflection ha! Loved putting this video together but unfortunately it has tanked in the YT algorithm. At least we know it's class 😎
I think it is already the correct way. All the reference pictures and instructions for Action Man show it this way. Also, pictures of the actual ceremonial horses in real life are this way 👍
Yeah it does seem like a collector item, but it was designed and sold as a toy, although I do believe many were bought by adults especially from abroad as a kind of souvenir due to their accuracy 👍
Excellent restoration work @VintageToyRush Dave! :)
Thanks Tim! 🤘
A beautiful restoration, for two incredible pieces of vintage Action Man plastic toy art, Dave! :)
Thanks Kieron! 👍 Yeah, they're pieces of art!! 🤘
What an awesome transformation. Unbelievable!!! Thanks again for my amazing gift and as you can see I’m now proudly sporting him as my image! Cheers and Happy Fathers Day! 👍🏽
Thanks Gary! 👍 Loving your new image, it suits you sir! And a belated Happy Fathers Day to you too - cheers 🤘
All those little intricate pieces. Amazing how Action Man was made back in the day. Fantastic restoration video my friend.
Cheers Shabby! 👍 They were the hot toys of their day, only they were made to play with 🤣 The horse fully dressed has impressed me!!
@@VintageToyRush yeah my friend. They really were beautiful toys
A great restoration Dave, you must be really pleased with the outcome
Thanks Dez!! 👍 Yeah, it's turned out really well - it's still surprising they were just toys back in the day 😎
Dave, you are a man of many talents, from expert restorations to slick video production!👏The figure and horse look fantastic
Thanks Scott! 👍 Appreciate you kind comments. Yeah, really pleased with how these turned out, especially the horse 🤘
Miracle work again Dave!
Thanks Mark! 👍
Absolutely love to watch you work Dave ❤
Cheers Tez! 🤘

Wow! Impressive restoration! Well done!
Thanks! 👍
You have amazing skills, you have to be one of the best. Love it.❤
Thanks Chippo! 👍 Appreciate your kind words 🤘
Reminds me of The Blues and Royals. Epic fix Dave!
Hey Kev! Thanks 👍 Yeah, the Blues & Royals very similar 🤘
Very nice work Dave, impressive turn out all round. Some very intricate pieces on the tack and accoutrements too.
Thanks Jeff! 👍 Yeah, the horse is most impressive with all of its accoutrements.
Excellent job mate!
Thanks! 👍 A little tidy up made a big difference!
Great video Dave.. Thanks for sharing.. 👍😎👍
Thanks Nick! 👍 Do you have any of the ceremonials? This is the first one for me.
@@VintageToyRush only 40th Anniversary.. I do have an original Action Man horse though.. 👍😎👍
Great video Dave! On or off screen you are doing great work.
Thanks Flux! 🤘 Appreciate your comment! 👍
Amazing! A real work of art!
Thanks! 😎 These beautiful items restored very nicely.
Is it safe to wash the jacket without the colour running?@@VintageToyRush

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to wash some white items first, but may leave the jackets as they are.@@VintageToyRush

Bob Brechin was such a mastermind!
Certainly a stack of talent and innovators at Palitoy 👍
Fabulous resto Dave!
I gotta say, that horse has a lot of strap-ons. Whoops, I mean straps on.
Trememdous work sir!👍🐵
Cheers Dave! 👍 You should try attaching all those strap-ons, I mean straps on 🤣
@@VintageToyRush 🤣🤣 too easy innit 🤣🤣
💂🏼♂️walk on!
Hard to believe such a detailed item was a toy
It's mad really - for the ceremonial uniforms they would visit the barracks, take photos, borrow items to make something as realistic as possible 👍
💪🍻👏👏👏
🤘🤘🤘
Are those belts real leather?
Unfortunately not, they're plastic - but that's not a bad upgrade idea 👍
La manta va en el lomo del caballo y la montura encima,la has puesto del revés

so even then this was not necessarily aimed to kid correct? so many pieces, belts, etc..seems like a collector item
Hard to believe, but this was all made for kids, back in the 70's and at pocket money prices, too! :)
@@kieronball8962 the amount of pieces is endless

It certainly felt like an endless number of pieces while restoring and assembling 😎
