As an Indian we better support Nissan. Even if Tata Punch or Hyundai exter get discontinued. The company doesn't have no worries but if Magnite discontinued in India then there will be a huge problem in the coming years. I am afraid,We might see the company fleeing away in no years. Just see the Ford and Chevrolet 😢 Thank you for reading my comments Love from Nagaland India
I have taken Nissan magnite cvt to modt difficult terrains like Sach pass and killar and it performed beautifully. None of the others would be close to this one. This car is competing with brezza sonet so surely wrong comparison here
By the way Exter doesn't fall in suv category. It can be compared only with hatchbacks like ignis and swift. Meanwhile punch and citroen are direct rivals. And magnite rivals with brezza, sonet, venue and nexon❤. Because of less engine size we can't compare with small segment cars. Compare cars with same dimensions
All cars except tata punch provide good engine , King in sales , utter flop in after sales service, pickup, mileage, refinement, resale value and quality control. Common rusting issue only found in tata cars free from time of delivery
According to my opinion best cars under 9lakh onroad ( we cant take turbos of C3 and Magnite) 1.Exterior looks - Magnite 2.Interior and dashboard design - magnite and c3 3. Rear seat space - Magnite anyday as it compete with upper segment also 10. I would consider magnite (turbo charged engine version ) and Citroen c3 with turbo as the top picks, punch and exter are decent cars but would be in the bottom half in this lot. That said though Maginte will be the overall better vehicle. Citoren would be the better perfomer. The engine of the exter will have better refinement and fewer issues in the long term but I don't like how it looks (least favourite design of the lot) .Punch will have the best crash rating and probably the worst engine( only engine that would be worse than punch here would be NA AMT engine of Maginte )

Thanks to this great and informative video. I have made up my mind to buy Magnite.....but one thing that's bothering me is, what if this company exits in near future since they don't have a good basket of cars to sell😢
there is rumour they are launching multiple models next year including new terrano/duster. nissan is exporting indian made magnite to 65+ countries now and thier alliance with Renault will help them to stay here.
The problem with this comparison was the price points at which these cars come at. The test cars were all top spec automatics And the ex-showroom prices are as follows (I've ignored the dual tone variants because they don't make sense at all) 1. Citroen C3 Shine Automatic - 9,99,800 2. Magnite Tekna Plus CVT - 11,50,000 3. Punch Creative Plus (S) - 9,99,900 4. Exter SX (O) Connect - 9,99,900 Clearly the rest of the 3 cars other than Magnite are from a segment below. And because of the Magnite's turbo variant it makes the comparison un-equal. Magnite with Turbo should be considered from a segment above. While the non-turbo variant can be compared to these other 3 cars. However, Citroen C3 is the only car that punches above its weight in terms of performance and comfort. It's clear that the choice should be between Citroen C3 and Magnite depending on the budget and preferences. For a prudent value conscious buyer that needs comfort and convenience with a little bit of performance - Both C3 and Magnite offer excellent value for money. Punch and Exter are more suited for city dwellers. I have the Magnite CVT (pre-facelift XV Premium Turbo CVT). I've driven it for over 11,000km and I would have probably bought C3 Automatic if I were buying it today. Performance and Comfort are very important -- more important than features. And C3 Automatic is better value for money for the performance it offers.
Why Exter? 1. Top class service - best in this segment after Maruti - wide service network 2. Reliable and niggle free ownership experience 3. Hi MotorOctane Team,
I think there is some confusion with the mileage chart, it shows 1.2 engine option in Magnite and 1.0 engine option in Exter.
The problem with this comparison was the price points at which these cars come at.

4. Exter SX (O) Connect - 9,99,900
Clearly the rest of the 3 cars other than Magnite are from a segment below.
If someone wants looks, value for money, and smoothest driving experience and can compromise on fuel economy and service availability-- Magnite is the clear option
If someone wants performance and comfort with sorted dynamics and can compromise on fuel economy and service availability - Citroen C3 is the clear option
If someone wants best safety and service center availability and can compromise on performance, quality control and service quality - Punch is the clear option
If someone wants the quietest engine, good NVH and peace of mind service quality and can compromise on power and safety - Exter is the clear option
Ultimately these are cars for 4 different types of demographic
Magnite and C3 are more suited for people that do highway runs a lot.
Punch and Exter are more suited for city dwellers.
I have the Magnite CVT (pre-facelift XV Premium Turbo CVT). I've driven it for over 11,000km and I would have probably bought C3 Automatic if I were buying it today.
