Having used DSG Jetta Diesel, I can definitely say, in B2B traffic (Bengaluru, Kochi) the transition from 1-2-1 becomes so jerky and apparent and after 20 mins or so, the mechatronic unit just decides to stick to 1 gear resulting in unnecessary revving. Luckily, since there are paddle shifters, I keep my Rt. hand stuck to the steering to do forced upshifts.
I prefer Manual Transmission.. On following point. 1. MT proven technology. 2. Many decades all flaws are corrected. 3. Less cost. 4. Road side assistance and service easily available. 5. Less maintenance. 6. Most important. Your body and mind linked car and road presence. This is will reduce accident rate. 7.Fuel efficiency better in MT.
I am using AMT in Renault triber it is 2020 model I have converted cng city pick is droped but highways are good to save money in cng I have put over all performance is good because I save 35% to 40% money my experience is 31 yrs of driving i had manual earlier now In 2024 am driving AMT because of my leg pain if anyone looking for pickup performance then Hyundai hexter is the better option for amt but they don't have CNG what I see in upcoming time is cost cutting vehicles in terms of quality low maintenance & economical drive & always save fuel efficiency vehicle that also in AMT because this can be cheaper then the fully automatic vehicle.!

I have test driven Creta DCT twice thrice IVT later decided to buy IVT Creta SX(O) when I test drove the vehicle to my day to day use Creta IVT performance right clicked all the parameters of my requirements adequate performance very smooth and calm cabin Using since 7th of Feb 2024 extremely satisfied
One thing i wish to add is CVT suffers less rubberband effect if engine capacity is bigger, example 1.8 litre engine or more, it doesn’t make much sense to give CVT on 1200 CC engines or less, it is barely enough on 1500 CC although Honda City does well with it. I don’t like DCT for the reason mentioned in video, heating issue in bumper to bumper traffic and hot climate in India, it is suitable for Europe. I use AT (torque converter) and find it sweet for my 1500 cc car, too sweet! My other car is Tata Punch AMT and we don’t regret it at all. AMT is life saver in bumper to bumper traffic and I don’t mind at all some jerks when car shifts gears automatically. The jerks are not really jerks, it is same feeling as when gears are changed manually. Once i got used to it, I don’t even notice it now.
I've driven cars with AMT, DSG, DCT, CVT, and torque converters, but nothing compares to the driving experience of a DSG gearbox. While I'm still cautious about the reliability of the DQ200 dry clutch, it seems like the Volkswagen Group has made improvements. So far, it's been performing well.

Overall its very good information about automatic gear box types. 👍👍...You should not have talked about iMT gear box as it seems like you don't even drive the same. iMT is the best option than any type of Auto and manual for sure. I'm using iMT since last 2+ years and no issues as such 😊
It's good that you didn't get any issues but 2 friends of mine had failed actuators in IMT so from reliability pov, I know it's not good. I should mention these things as a part of my job! It's a great option for highways and I've driven it extensively!

If you know bangalore here is my daily route (Banashankari 3rd stage to Marathahalli through the dreaded silk board - Agara road). This is proper bumber to bumber frustrating traffic. The diesel engine does a great job by not killing me with the jerks like my earlier vehicle I20. It shifts to second quickly, crawls in peace and stops when needed. I get around 13.6 kmpl tank to tank, 100% AC at 25 and 2 people.

Good video but I differ with you on iMT, you talked about your friends who frequently picked the car in 2nd. But by just avoiding that mistake you actually get the clutch life much more than the manual transmission in many cases. Yes if the driver is pro then Manual is good in almost every sense.
CVT's are unfortunately very bad to drive. They are not meant for spirited driving and hence dont come with powerful cars. I have driven CVT gearbox in Canada and it never delivers power in time to overtake on highways. You are right, CVT's are mostly meant for slow speed tight traffic driving.
I had a Wagon R AMT. Presently driving an i10 Nios AMT. The Maruti AMT was much better than Hyundai. It gave better fuel efficiency and less gearshift noise. Hyundai has pronounced gearshift noise and less fuel efficient. However the i10 is superb to drive.

I have a query and look for your kind advise . After a recent test drive I felt Honda City Hybrid CVT had much better response during driving (acceleration, braking etc) than its pure petrol variant. But , I am doubtful if battery function hampers after sometime (say battery deterioration ), then will the car perform well ?
I use sports mode in my Seltos IVT to overcome rubber band effect during quick overtakes. In Jeep compass DCT there is no sports mode, quick overtake is difficult. In highways no issues for both.

DCT gearbox ko companiyon ne intentionally ab slow kar diya hai, DCT ab wo year 2017 type fast shift type nahi hai specially for the price between 10-30 lakhs, so it can be driven for minimal traffic as well, have less heating issues and last longer

If you want mileage then you could go with either vitara or hycross hybrid. They come with decent power as well. Elevate even though has NA engine is still pretty powerful and fun to drive. However, it's mileage will be less than the hybrid vitara or hycross. If you want performance, you could go with kushaq, taigun or even creta n line. There you'll get good mileage as well if you don't have the habit of driving fast all the time but also good performance as per your requirement.
For mostly citi running b2b drive which transmission do you recommend? Both from cost and maintenance point of view. Say, budget is 10-12 lakhs approx. Kindly suggest.

never thought of auto until i tried vw torque converter, its more fun to drive with tc, manual has its own fun but tc gives fun and comfort

That's a different gearbox than cvt which takes power from both engine and battery at the same time. Much better response than normal CVTs

One thing got to know that fuel type and transmission type combination is major point in this section....Can you explain little more about CNG AMT, why other cars manufacturer not entered in this section? Is it gud to buy CNG Amt, what is long term benefit and disadvatage.
