Floor could've become a pop singer and rocked the charts. We're so lucky she chose metal instead to rock our hearts.
She faild with her bands twice or trice, because that is what we do. We click at the lowest offer, sing with the most clicks, believe the flashiest signs, and the most simple slogans. We somehow degenerate to idiots.

I lost my mother a couple of months ago, she's still alive but she has alzheimer and the mother we had is gone. I dont know why i keep torturing myself listening to Floor singing Mama it breaks my heart everytime.

I got the same with my dad. I'm a total daddy's girl. He's my hero. I have no idea how I would survive without him in my life. I choke up just thinking about it. Floor sang 'Mama' for Samantha and Samantha sang 'Zonder jou' for Floor. A Nightwish song translated into Dutch about missing their parents because of the hectic life in music they chose. So kinda funny how they both chose a song about their parents. I know you don't like her, but give it a chance. Even if it's just to see Floor's reaction to it.
After this one, several people called their mom. Great reaction like always.
I wish i could call my mom now. I lost my mom 9 months ago. Nothing compares to the pain of losing your mom, and that pain never goes away.

Each time you listen to Floor, having a box of tissues next to you is mandatory. You are going to need it very often, guaranteed.

This one hit home for me too. I laid my mother to rest three years ago and I miss her so much. I can't talk to her anymore and it really hurts. I know a little something about depression too, as a Post Combat Stress Syndrome survivor. I love this video and I totally get your reaction. If you hadn't paused it, I would have.

Very good Mr. Viking, I applaud. There isn't much the lovable Floor, or Mrs. Van Dahl is you want, cannot or will not do. What she does do is perfect, I have only seen here fluff once, the emotion singing the song she wrote for her mother who covered up the pain of severe arthritis so the children had a normal childhood did overtake her, and it does in Beste Zangers as one of the ensemble choose to sing it for Floor.
I do hope your mum lasts many, many more years. My father died at 66 and I'm now a tad over 1 month to 75. . . . . . . .My mother died at 99 and 8 months just two weeks before I left England for good and came here to live and retire in the empty, quiet countryside of very rural France. Then, 2 years later it all went very, very wrong, but that's a private story for you later when you get to "the appropriate" Nightwish song.
My best wishes to you, I am enjoying your work. Incidentally your English is truly excellent.

Lost my mom in 2013 when I was 22. When I was 14 and start listening to Nightwish she always enjoyed the music with me. It still hurts sometimes. I feel you. My mom always told me: people will always meet twice. If not in the lifetime, than somewhere else. So keep your head up. Sometime you will get the chance to tell her.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my mother in 1983 at the age of 12. I still miss her at times and will always look up to her as an example of strength. She will always live on in you.

I’m sorry Viking, but I feel the urge to respond. I don’t mean to be harsh, but the way you are thinking is not going to help you in any way. Death is a fact of life and you cannot keep your mother with you forever. At the end of the day if all goes well you WILL outlive her, so at some point you are going to lose her. It wouldn’t be good if she would outlive you. So instead of building up your fears for that moment, you’d better come to terms with the idea that you will lose her at some point, and in the mean while enjoy the time that you still have together. Remember to kiss while your lips are still red. Don’t waste your time living in fear of death, embrace life instead and enjoy it to the fullest. Get rid of your fears and replace them with joy. Arrive alive. Keep up the good works!
My mother is 93 in June. She was the youngest of 12, I've been looking after her for the last twelve years, after losing my dad in 2006, and my sister in 2008. Unfortunately, she's not a woman I can look up to, and I have zero happy memories from my childhood with her.
I've lost my mother a few weeks ago. Suddenly! She was my world. I listen to this song almost every day in this version from Floor. It's heavy to listen but it gives me the faith that we will meet again some day. Thx for this reaction. 😢❤

As a musical empath, I can feel the music and feel the emotion of a singer, and when Floor sings it is very hard to be tough as nails and not let nobody see the real image of me... I wish to your mother many wonderful years to come . And Never loose your warming personality .NWSU :)
If Mama killed you, my friend, When she gets to singing Ruben's "I Don't Know a Thing About Love" will totally obliterate you. Then either Marko's "Voice of My Father", or seeing Henk sing Noelia for Rolf will be the custodians mopping up the puddle that is left of you off the floor. In short, keep some tissues nearby. You'll need them.
While it can definitely be seen as Floor talking about her mother here, as you live there and probably know more than any of us, this is Samantha's song that Floor is singing back to her. So technically this would be Samantha talking to her mother about how she's feeling. But as you can tell, Floor is putting some serious emotion into it, which makes it hit home even harder.
Also you should react to an episode where Floor was sitting on the couch. Samantha performed a song written by Floor for her mother. Floor broke down on that one... more tissue 😢🤘

Floor are the greatest singer and stage performer ever. Simple as that. She is the soul and content of the song she performs - she adds dimensions to songs she performs - cannot explain how, but it is so powerful, honest, deep and just stunning - Floor is unique

When I realized which song she was about to do I was like 'ehh, I'll be alright, I don't like the original much...' but that lasted about 3 seconds really.
She just draws the emotion out. So great.

I hope your mother lives for many more years my friend. Mine is 85 and I am worried for her every day. Floor looked so beautiful in this performance. The song is amazing.

Hope this helps My mother was the oldest of 15 and she was an Angel that everyone loved and when she passed at age 72 it was no suprise because she had been fighting breast cancer for years , so back when the cancer thing started I decided to spend as much time as possible with her & I did and was with her till her last breath. never fear death she told me right before she died that she was going home & not to be sad but never forget the love she has now & forever. I'm just trying to say enjoy her now and don't fear what we can't control . life is short & make the best of your time together on earth because its just the beginning.

Gozer... Ik heb net dit kanaal ontdekt... En alle emotie die jij in meerdere videos heb laten zien doen mij zoveel goed... Ik zit zelf momenteel in een depressie en een enorme burn-out... En dit kanaal gooit mij in alle emoties mogelijk... Je heb er een nieuwe abbone bij, je bent goud kerel, bedank voor het toveren van een glimlach en een traan deze avond...
Depressie en burn-out... dat klinkt mij zeer bekend in de oren. Helaas hebben veel mensen daar nu last van. Blijf vooral om hulp vragen hoe moeilijk dat ook is. Vaak komen we in die situatie door te veel te denken dat we het zelf moeten doen. Er zijn altijd mensen om je heen die willen helpen.
Als dit kanaal er in bijdraagt een lach op je gezicht te toveren is mijn doel geslaagd! Ik heb altijd gezegd dat iemand die een grote(re) groep mensen bereikt een verantwoordelijkheid heeft om hier iets positiefs mee te doen. Positiever dan dit kan ik me niet wensen.
Weet dat ik bezig ben om mijn kanaal te verbinden met een goed doel gericht op "mental health" enkel heb ik nog niet echt 1 gevonden die echt internationaal werk doet. Maar tot die tijd wil ik het stigma eraf halen. Dank je heel erg voor jouw bericht... dat is weer inspiratie!

Tja jongen: zo gaat dat ;) In januari 2002 werd mij verteld dat mijn moeder elk moment kon sterven: hartaanval, slechte aderen, nauwelijks mogelijkheden voor stints. Eind juni dat jaar is mijn vader overleden. Moeders is er nog steeds: nog steeds een mens van dag. 93 nu. Zo gaat dat..... grote knuffel uit Helmond!
Mr. Viking, je hebt een aantal keren aangegeven dat je dealt met een Burn Out. Floor heeft met haar band Revamp een schitterend nummer gemaakt genaamd Nothing. Dat gaat over haar eigen Burn Out in 2011. Misschien kun je daar eens naar luisteren.
Verder kan ik alleen nog zeggen ga aub door met je kanaal. (God dat ik als PSV fan nog eens aub tegen een Amsterdammer ga zeggen ;-))
I think that this song was written from one of the other singers there. She commented something in that vein on the original video. Edit: Yes, the original song is from Samantha Steenwijk sitting there on the couch.

O, no verdammte Scheisse..man, it hit me twice as you said that loosing your Mum is your biggest fear...my Dad past away in 1992, fuckin cancer..in 1994 my sister(27) died, innocent, in a car crash. My Mum survived, hurt badly. In this times i became an alcoholic for over 14 years(dry alcoholic since 2010😁). Loosing my Mum at that point would had be my death sentence, for sure..but my 'strongest' mum stayed by me and saw me happy, sober, laughing and living again. In 2016 she past away after a long time of fighting and suffering. She had lounges cancer, dialysis every other day..but never lost her positive vibes. My friends were afraid it was too much for me and i would started drinking again. I can understand that, but hell no, i wouldnt dare that...even i have wanted to drink, i simple could not. Hey, my friend...my respect, serious...this video, Floor singing Mama, damned. You watched it to the end. Wow. After 25 seconds i broke up in river of tears, stopped the video and had to watch the craziest German Band ever. "KNORKATOR" ..and their funny, happy song "Ma Baker". An awesome Cover of "Boney M". (I guess you know Boney.M)

I loose my dear mother almost 19 years ago, so 😐. I know that there's life (or some kind of) after that. But this performance is a very powerful one, and so is Samatha's original. ⛄👍

we lost our mother back in october of 2023, and this song makes me cry everytime i hear it. i wish i could share it with my little sister, but she was the one that found her so i dont know if this song would help her heal or make it worse... what do you think?
Floor didn't go easy in this show, she always choose songs really emotional and with a strong meaning for the singers on the spotlight, the rest is done by her voice and her amazing way to share her emontions with us, she always feel the songs she sing.
But honestely for me it's pretty hard to explain what she does to me, it's not normal and pretty rare I feel songs in this way, with Floor it happens every time she sing.
I mean, this song is not my type of music, I also don't understand a single word, but man...

Tbh i blocked the translation of the lyrics with my hand while i was watching this because that would have triggered me a lot because well, even tho i have biological mother, i never had mother's figure in my life. Anyway, i love this song a lot and i think it is better for me to not know what it is really about.
