The man sat opposite Floor with the Black and white shirt and a beard is Rolf Sanchez who wrote the song. The song is about his break up with a long time girlfriend. Rolf is half Dominican and he spends 6 months of each year working in Latin America. Rolf wrote this song as a Salsa and it was No 1 in the Latin charts for about 8 weeks. Floor cannot speak Spanish so learnt the song phonetically but had it translated so that she understood the meaning and knew where to put the emphasis and emotion into the song. She and the band reworked the song to how she wanted to sing it to suit her style. A remarkable piece of work. Rolf loved it.
Wowww, thank you for explaining the background of the song. I thought she did an amazing performance. Changing it from salsa to this version is definitely a master piece and her vocals are on point as usual 👌🏻 I'm glad I reacted to it 🙌🏻 💕
Vocal talent, stage presence, versatility and the ability to convey the feeling of what she is singing. Floor owns the stage she stands on. She is a joy to listen to, whatever she sings.
I agree with you 💯 . Even though I had never heard this song before, I was able to feel the emotion and actually like the song because of the way she performed. Thank you for joining me ♥️
This is his song which makes it special, but Rolf was completely enamored with Floor's singing throughout this show. Every time she performed, he looked like a kid in a candy shop.
The laughing toothy grinning guy on the couch is Rolf Sanchez and Floor was singing the song he made a hit. Also, Floor speaks several languages fluently, but Spanish is not one of them, which makes the performance even more incredible. 😊🤘
Wow, I didn't know that!. I did notice his excitement through the song and who wouldn't get excited with such a high-quality performance. She was amazing 👏🏻 💕
This whole show "Beste Zangers" is awesome. That season, where Floor was involved, came out in the fall of 2019. The whole Nightwish Army followed those UA-cam releases with enthusiasm. It was interesting that before the show, Floor was a relatively unknown singer in her own country. Sure, rock/metal people knew her, but the so-called general public didn't. And they probably expected a very different song from her than what she performed in the show! Her first performance was the classical musical song "Vilja Lied", which she sang in the original language, i.e. in German. If the singers on the spot were amazed by her skill, so were probably all the Dutch people who watched the show on TV. That one song was enough to cause immense enthusiasm for Floor in the Netherlands and a lot was expected of her during the progress of the show - and she fulfilled those expectations! Here is a link to the opening song of that show, it would be nice to see a reaction video you made about it Floor Jansen - Vilja Lied | Beste Zangers 2019 ua-cam.com/video/lcLG5X1i2QM/v-deo.html
That's why she's the Greatest of our times She can sing all what you want.....in any genre Always with her personnal touch Not only the Godess of metal.........but so more A very down to earth person Yes a Superstar......but on a very humble way
Learned this song and spanish with the help from her sister Irene ( who can sing also) in less than a week You need to react to ALL of her performances from this show ....incredible
For having only a week or so to make this song and learn Spanish and the pronunciation she is an amazingly passionate and perfectionist and gives it her all in singing.
Floor was born to sing and entertain. She is a vocal story teller. She is able to display the feel of the story in the song and while you can see it and feel it in a video, it's nothing compared to see her doing it live. If you ever get the chance go see her (and her NW brothers)
This was such a lovely reaction to our wonderful Floor. She has the unique ability to put so much emotion into a performance that it sucks the soul right from your body. A siren indeed. Thank you for this.
Floor is an empath. She needs to understand exactly what the story the lyrics are telling. The pronunciation of the words, where the emphasis should be placed on each word to convey the meaning of the song. No matter which of the 8 languages she has sung in, she researches each song so she can convey the exact meaning. She is brilliant.
You should have a look at the first song she did on this series. She was the first one to sing (for Henk) and she sang Vilja Lied from the Merry Widow operetta. They hadn’t really heard of Floor and nobody knew what to expect, but their reactions were priceless.
Hi Cami, I think you are very brave making your review in English, I also think it is a wise choice if you want to reach a wider audience! Now for your review, I think your English was very good and the content and assessment of Floor’s vocal abilities and performance was spot on, she’s just amazing! There is another song she sings on Beste Zangers with Henk Poort, it’s a performance of Phantom of the Opera, it’s just fabulous! Also I noticed that someone else has mentioned Shallow, that also is very good! My own other recommendation for her is her cover of Alone by Heart, this is just perfect - if you don’t want to react to it please just listen to it for yourself, it’s just beautiful! 🌹
Floor Jansen has had a classic training, what we in the Netherlands call concervatorium, it’s the university system of classic music study in the Netherlands
Hola CamiVocalist. te voy a dar alguna información de Floor Jansen. Para que sepas: Something that you should know about FLOOR JANSEN. She started singing in a symphonic metal band at just 16 years old. After Forever (1995-2009). Then she created a new Progressive Metal band, ReVamp (2009-2016). In 2018 she released a personal Hard Rock project (Northward). In 2012, she was invited by Nightwish to finish their world tour, after the band's second female singer (Annete Olzon) left. In 2013 she became Nightwish's full time lead Vocalist. She is a singing teacher. She sings in Dutch, German, English, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian and Latin. She sings Heavy Metal, Trash Metal, Pop, Rock, Symphonic Metal, Arya and Opera. She even sang rap. THE BEST SINGER TODAY IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
Agree with the recommendation for "Shallow". Also, thank you for doing it in English. For the comment I am responding to here above, in the original non- English version, a large part is crossed out. In English, the crossed out parts appear to be discussing Floor's ability to speak other languages. For what it is worth, from what I can see those comments are completely 100% accurate -- not sure why they would be crossed out? I couldn't have said it better myself! Looking forward to your next review!
Gracias Aleja por dejarme saber! Claro que lo voy a escuchar. Creo que Floor hizo una interpersonales magistral de esta canción que no necesite conocerla previamente para poder sentir su intención 💕👏🏻 Saludos Aleja 🤗
I would like to take this opportunity to express my respect to you. It is not a matter of course and certainly not easy for you to make a whole video in English. Thank you for doing it anyway.
Great reaction Cami :) "That Guy", is the original artist of this song, his name is Rolf Sanchez. He wrote this song after a bad breakup, and wanted to make his feelings known. The original version is a salsa song: ua-cam.com/video/0nA2dtSDCzc/v-deo.html Floor and the Marcel Fisser band, rearranged it into a rock/metal version with this as outcome. Floor's discharge at the end reminds me of the discharge after the high note in Ghost Love Score at Wacken Open Air, a similar sensation.
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with an ambitus of more than three octaves (C3 to F6). Her singing style varies from opera and clean singing to screaming and grunting. She usually sings in English, but she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish

For fun you should listen to the original version by Rolf: it had a completly different vibe and emotion!💥💥💥💥
I will listen to the original ! Thank youuu 💕

Excellent reply. 👍
What I like here is "Beste Zangers" shows that a Metal singer is not really what people think about them.
Hello Cami, NW Army Italian Division here. The truth is simple: Floor is one of the most versatile singers today.
Thank you for joining me ♥️
One of the best voices in metal, ever! 🖖❤
I started pondering on your statement, but i couldnt come up with any better :)
Thats right ✅️
The words ‘in metal’ are unnecessary. It’s simply a world-class voice. A vocal howitzer.
One of the best voices ever, regardless of genre
Great reaction Cami - Floor is amazing as always - she may not speak spanish, but she does speak music...
That guy that looked so happy...It was his song. He was the original singer.
😲😲😲😲 Now I know why he was so excited 👏🏻
This is his song which makes it special, but Rolf was completely enamored with Floor's singing throughout this show. Every time she performed, he looked like a kid in a candy shop.
I LOVE FLOOR SO MUCH!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
This is why she is the greatest singer ever! Thank You!
Singer sings what they can, Floor sings what she wants ❤
💜🌷🔥💥🪷 Hail Our Queen Floor 💎
Haha, Rolf's smile is brighter than my future and wider than my prospects. 😁👍
The guy laughing is Rolf Sanchez who was the writer of that song.
The GODDESS of emotions.........

Yet another side of Floor. In fact, there will always be another side, no matter how much you've seen.
Thank you.
Wonderful reaction, Cami. You really sense the special talent of Floor and appreciate your reaction. Keep them coming. 🥰

Woww a week? That's impressive 👏🏻 she did it amazingly 💕
I don't think she learned *Spanish*, just how to pronounce it and the meaning behind verses of this song.
Impressive still.
@@JariJuslin Yeah sorry I just meant learned Spanish pronunciation.

And that definitely shows when she's singing 🙌🏻 I enjoyed so much this performance.
... legend is that after watching this performance, Rolf Sanchez was never able to close his mouth again... :)

That guy freaking out on the couch that they keep going back to is Rolf Sanchez, the composer and original singer.

Thank you for joining me 💖 I think Floor mastered this song 😎😎😎
