  • On the last video of this Stuart 10V we took a non running model and after a little time and effort we coaxed it into running, but it had plenty of room for improvement. Let's focus on making this engine run as well as it should. I turned a groove into the piston & added an o ring, repacked the piston rod gland as well as packing the valve rod gland, replacing the valve chest gaskets, adjusting the valve travel and setting the timing. Thank you all for watching, sharing, commenting and subscribing. You guy's are GREAT!

I follow another channel who does extreme close-ups, and he (more-or-less) keeps focus from a couple of feet right down to couple of inches. So, I thought I'd ask him what camera he has and he replied saying that he just uses his I phone (13) I was quite surprised. See Simon's Shed channel. Maybe worth a shot with a smart phone in macro mode?? Anyway, I'm sure we all forgive the odd blurry shot as we enjoy your vids so much. 👍👍

So much better than the last video as far as engine performance. I honestly didn't even notice the blurriness but with my eyes everything is blurry lol.

Thanks Chris, it does run SO much better than before. Did you pick up the sarcasm in this video? 😉

you should cut out the centre of the steam chest cover joint, as over time it will get wet with steam oil, degrade and sag, potentially bits breaking off and clogging up your passages. We all know you don't want a clogged up passage😁

RE: focus issues. I don't know what sort of camera you're using (GoPro?, phone?), but really the best way to get around close work focus problems would be a dSLR with a close-focus wide angle lens. I recently got a 16mm lens for my EOS-R that can focus as close as 6". The lens is only $150, but you'd have to invest in a camera body. You could then get additional lenses as the need arises.

for as small as that little engine it makes quite the deep sound when being tached up.
neat little piece of kit. thanks for your efforts. it's appreciated.
