    Thank you Fr Mark! The Asian (esp Chinese and Vietnamese) are having the same tradition by referring to those descendants of the elder relatives (e.g cousins/ nephews) as brothers or sisters or even referring to their friends or neighbors kids as brothers and sisters as well. I know this bc I am Vietnamese and I grew up there and my family is very traditional and am a convert as well. God created all things and i find it not that hard to believe the blessed Mother is sacredly chosen and protected and kept free of sin. Nothing is Impossible to the Almighty Lord 🙏 🙏

    I've heard this argument before and and there were times I felt that possible she did have other children with Joseph and personally it really didn't matter to me because I knew for sure she was a virgin when she conceived our Lord Jesus Christ. However, it dawned on me one day as I was reading about the crucifixion in the Bible that she was at the foot of the cross with a few women and the Apostle John and knowing Jewish people as I do surely if Mary Had other children you can bet the bank that those children would have been all around her embracing her consoli her but not there was none to me that was total proof that Mary did not have any other children but our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Thank you for this video and God bless!

    Under Jewish law, it is forbidden to give your mother away to non-relatives, if she has other children to look after her.
    Jesus would be breaking Jewish law by giving her to John.
    But it would be OK to give her to a trusted friend.

    I always find it interesting that protestants can believe so many miracles of the bible..Noahs arc, parting of the red sea, even that Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit, but remaining a perpetual Virgin is beyond belief!? Same for her other graces (Immaculate Conception) as if anything is impossible for God. Its baffling that many claim she is nothing special, "just a woman" etc. Like just anyone can fully be obedient to the Will of God as she was/is? The beatitudes are about her and Joseph. Also in Luke 11:27 when a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him "blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that you sucked!" But Jesus said "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" ..again referencing Mary and Joseph. They remain humble, and hidden during their lives on Earth but Glorified in Heaven.

      It is mind boggling that everything you said is in the bible but except for "immaculate conception"!!!🤔
      The Immaculate Conception is a doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church in regards to Mary, Jesus’ mother. The official statement of the doctrine reads, “The blessed Virgin Mary to have been, from the first instant of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of Almighty God, in view of the merits of Christ Jesus the Savior of Mankind, preserved free from all stain of original sin” (Pope Pius IX, Ineffabilis Deus, December 1854). Essentially, the Immaculate Conception is the belief that Mary was protected from original sin, that Mary did not have a sin nature and was, in fact, sinless.But guess what,it is not biblical!!This is the reason true Christians are against!!🤔

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  Рік тому

      Regarding Mary having sin or not, in Genesis 3:15, both Jesus and Mary are said to be in a state of "enmity" against the serpent, which in the original Hebrew means "complete and radical opposition" to Satan. It is for this reason that it is not likely that God would have permitted Mary to inherit the condition of "original sin" from Adam and Eve. Any participation by her in the disorder and corruption of the soul that the rest of us inherit from Adam and Eve would place the Mother of Jesus at least partially under the sway of Satan and evil, and thereby contradict the complete "enmity" between Mary and Satan prophesied in Genesis 3. She still needed a savior to preserve her from sin in the first place because Jesus could not have co-existed with sin in the womb of a woman who had any sin.

    • @MrEmoji-rf7wf
      @MrEmoji-rf7wf Рік тому

      @@DivineMercy_Official -The Roman Catholic Church argues that the Immaculate Conception is necessary because, without it, Jesus would have received His flesh from one who was herself a slave to the devil, whose works Jesus came to destroy (1 John 3:8). Mary, as the mother of the Redeemer, needed for her flesh to be free from the power of sin, and God gave her that privilege. From her time in the womb, Mary was sanctified because of her special role in bringing the Son of God incarnate into the world.
      One problem with the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception is that it is not taught in the Bible.Even Catholics admit that Scripture does not directly teach the Immaculate Conception. The Bible nowhere describes Mary as anything but an ordinary human female whom God chose to be the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mary was undoubtedly a godly woman (Luke 1:28). Mary was surely a wonderful wife and mother. Jesus definitely loved and cherished His mother (John 19:27). But the Bible gives us no reason to believe that Mary was sinless. In fact, the Bible gives us every reason to believe that Jesus Christ is the only Person who was not “infected” by sin and never committed a sin (see Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5).

      Did you read the original Greek and Hebrew because the word "until" in English is used totally different. The word until in the original language does not mean that something changed to the opposite after a certain point in time. Mary had four other sons, Joseph, James, Jude, and Simon. Because of the virgin birth, Joseph was not the father of Jesus so these were the half brothers of Jesus. The last three mentioned are not to be confused with those who were disciples of Jesus by the same name.

You can't accept the bible and reject the authority from which it came. The Catholic Church gave you the Bible you have today and determined what books were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Of the hundreds of "gospels" that were in circulation in the early centuries, how did only 4 come to be in the bible? Yes, the Catholic Church :) And seeing Christ started a Church, and there was only the Catholic Church for 1,500 years, odds are pretty good it is the Church of Christ.... unless you think Jesus got it wrong until Martin Luther got it right. • @odetafecani1614
      @odetafecani1614 2 роки тому

      Yes, that is very possible. I have heard accounts of Eastern Orthodox priests that maintain that Joseph the betrothed was an older man when he was engaged to Virgin Mary and it’s possible the “brothers of Christ“ were from Joseph’s previous marriage. His previous wife must have passed away, I suppose. So the family of Joseph and Mary had Jesus and Mary’s older stepchildren. Saint Joseph the betrothed also passed away sometime during Jesus adolescence or something

      No, St. Joseph was also a virgin, and he was not old. Think about it. Would God have given Mother Mary an old man to protect her? No.
      Also, when St. Joseph and Mother Mary went to Bethlehem for the census, if he had other children, they would have been with them, but there were no children with them.
      What about when St. Joseph and Mother Mary looked for Jesus and found him at the temple? They did not have other children with them when they left to go look for Jesus. That means that if St. Joseph had other children, they would have left them alone when they went searching for Jesus. Do you really think they would have done that? No, because St. Joseph did not have other children.
      And the obvious one...if Mother Mary had other children or even step-children, then Jesus would not have given her to St. John at the cross. Mother Mary only gave birth to one child, Jesus, and St. Joseph was a virgin. He was not an old widower with kids.
      Stop and use reason for a minute. Can you even imagine what it would have been like if St. Joseph had other children? How difficult life would be for a regular child (with original sin) to have Jesus as a sibling. You could never be as good as or live up to Jesus. God would not have done that to someone. Not to mention that Jesus is unique because He is truly God and truly man, so it is only logical that His birth and life would be unique and that He would be the only child in the family.
      I do not know why it is difficult for people to believe that God made St. Joseph and Mother Mary chaste and set them apart from others in human history. They had a special vocation, so of course, God would prepare them ahead of time accordingly.
      I think it is the protestant understanding of things that has crept into the minds of Catholics. We must stop letting protestant misinterpretations of the Bible influence us and lead us away from the true teachings only found in the deposit of faith of the Catholic Church. imho

      In Ex 20:4 God prohibits graven images for the purpose of worshipping them. Catholics don’t worship Mary or images and never will. In Ex 25:18 God commands Moses to make statues of angels and Numbers 21:8 God commands a bronze seraph be made and looked upon to heal the people. If all graven images are prohibited, we need to remove the picture we have on our desk as that is a graven image. The Commandments are not numbered in the Bible. They come from Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5, but neither clarifies how to divide them, as they are not numbered in the Bible. Catholics use St. Augustine’s version and Protestants use that of the Greek Fathers. The two forms have slightly different numbering, but maintain exactly the same meaning. For example, it is said that Catholics eliminated the second commandment not to worship graven images. But that is included in the 1st commandment of not having any false Gods. According to Ex 20, graven images are not forbidden by God (God commanded Moses to carve images for the Ark of the Covenant) but it is the WORSHIP of them that is forbidden, and we Catholics do not do that. We still must follow the 10C’s today because they were written ‘with the finger of God’ rather than by Moses like the other parts of the Jewish law, which Jesus fulfilled. That is Church teaching.

      @@DivineMercy_Official - I notice you are avoiding my question on who are the children that live with Mary and Joseph.🤔
      Here is another example:
      In John 7, Jesus is traveling through Galilee. Meanwhile, in Judea, the Jewish leaders were looking for a way to kill Him (John 7:1). Then, “when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, Jesus’ brothers said to him, ‘Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret.
