As a protestant who denies faith alone, this is good stuff. Faith alone blatantly rejects the narrative of the Scriptures. From OT to NT, God judges us based on our deeds (Ezekiel 18:30 and Galations 6:7-9 are two of many examples). Praise God who fills us with the holy spirit to empower us to good deeds and has written the law on our hearts.

Speaking as a convert - keep digging, with open mind. Zillions of miracles from Saints (intercessions, not by themselves), but it shows what holiness and intense prayer can do, not merely arm-waving Hillsong songs. And, 152 Eucharistic Miracles that confirm John 6 and 1 Cor 10-11, especially 1 Cor 11:27. Bread cannot bring "judgement" but sacrilege can, and sacrilege means it is on real Body & Blood of Christ. God bless you.

Faith is a gift fromGod. My thoughts are that works and service is an extension and outward sign of this gift. It is a gift given back for the love of our Father. When we become in union with the love of God we hopefully will not do it out of fear but out of love to God and our neighbors. I think that is a goal in life is to become God’s light and love for the world so we can share in it forever in Heaven. Love never fails! God bless everyone.

I have read Romans 3:28 so many times. And yes, we are saved by faith without the deeds of the law.
But what is faith in romans 3:28? And what is deeds of the law in Romans 3:28?? You have to understand what it is first.
When reading Paul’s epistle, you have to be careful when reading “”faith”” and “”works””. If you go one verse above of 28 which is obviously 27, it says.
Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
It is asking what law excluded boasting. ((Sorry for caps)) BY WHAT LAW? OF WORKS?? So there is a law of works. It is also called the law of Moses, commonly called “the law”, most popular version is the Old Testament.
NAY, but by the LAW OF FAITH.
SO IN 28, it explains that for us to be saved, we just follow the LAW OF FAITH or LAW OF CHRIST and we don’t need to follow the deeds/works of the law which is the law of Moses.
Even if you follow the law of Moses strictly, but not the law of Christ, your salvation is not guaranteed. If you continue reading Romans 3 to the end, it talks about the law being established which is the law of Christ.
You can link this verse to Ephesians 2:8-9 we are saved through faith. THROUGH FAITH, and NOT BY FAITH. Which means we have to follow the law of Christ.
AND NOT OF YOURSELVES because people think what they are doing is enough. Some people say, “I go to church every Sunday, that’s enough”” no it’s not enough. God gave us RIGHTEOUSNESS TO FOLLOW as found in Ephesians 2:10.
NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should BOAST. BOASTING WAS EXCLUDED IN ROMANS 3:27 by the law of faith.
We are saved by the law of faith ALONE and not by the law of works. But we need to work for our salvation.
Phi 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

But this reminds me of Sol Allinsky(?) I think that's his name. Who was a self proclaimed devil worshipper. Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer, father of deceit and destruction. He was a communist. Communists claim to care about the poor. But they don't and never have. Look at how major corporations and billionaires like George Soros and Tom Steyer promote communist ideas -- political correctness and "woke" culture. Democrats stopped caring about poor and working class Americans a long time ago. People who care about working class Americans don't advocate importing millions of competing workers into the country. Only rich people who want cheap labor do that.

Amen to this father. As opposed to the born again from the Protestant origin, who insist that good works are not needed to be saved. Their favorite example is the thief on the cross who was instantly saved by Jesus when he said that He had not sinned unlike the two of them crucified with Him.

YES! Nailed it! Bible reading Catholic here.. Protestants often say Catholics don't know their bible, and it's kind of true. I've recently coming to the conclusion the same can be said about protestants.. They repeat what they are told passages mean while being told, "we go by what the bible says"
The Lord has been helping me understand this..the works that Paul talks about are the works of the old law. He was one of those workers of the law his entire life, everything he knew until he met Christ was about the law. Paul is the Apostle to the Gentiles, but he also addressed Jews who were learning to change everything they understood.
James 2:24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? Talks about a faith that is evident when you act upon your faith.
And yes there is another Law, the law that matters, the law of Jesus, a law of love. 100% and he warns about the consequences of not acting on that faith and obeying that law.

When Paul talks about the works of the Law, he is also referring to the moral law also, and not just the customary Jewish laws.
      Romans 3:20
For no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.
Two points from the above passage: 1). No one is saved by the works of the law, hopefully you and I can agree on that, and 2). the law reveals our sin. The customary laws can’t reveal sin. Wearing mixed fabrics and eating unclean foods don’t reveal sin. The moral law, aka the ten commandments reveal our sin. Paul expands on this a lot further in Romans 7.
      Romans 7:7;11-12
What should we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin if it were not for the law. For example, I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, Do not covet…For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me. So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.
So whenever Paul mentions the works of the law, he is referring to the entire Mosaic law, including the moral law which includes love because Jesus said the entire Law can be summed up in loving God and loving others.

@ChristIsLordofAll-xb6xv Paul was addressing what the Jusaisers were doing. Following behind Paul teaching gentile converts "Torah keeping" in addition to believing in Christ for salvation. teaching gentiles in order to be saved, they had to be circumcised follow all the customs and traditions in order to be saved. They still exist on youtube today. It is expressed multiple times in scripture, moral law would have to be kept by the gentiles as well, and those who did not keep it, would not see the kingdom. If you agree the Lord's grace is for the repentant sinner, you should understand, but if you think an unrepentant sinner can be saved by simply believing Jesus is who He is, then we are in disagreement. James said even the demons believe in Jesus.

@ChristIsLordofAll-xb6xv if there needed to be a law to show man's sin..what sin? The moral laws are universal. There was no, "do not kill law" command before Cain killed Abel, yet Cain was cursed. Man kind was wiped out in the flood for their evil ways. The moral law always existed. The Mosaic law was to serve as a teacher until Christ, who would write the moral laws on our hearts

    • @ChristIsLordofAll-xb6xv
      @ChristIsLordofAll-xb6xv 2 місяці тому

@@dashriprock5720 Sure, torah keeping includes circumcision, and that was the main problem of the Galatians, but again, not getting circumcised doesn’t reveal your sin, as Paul says the law in Romans reveals sin. Thou shalt not covet is not a customary law from the Torah. It was a moral law, by which Paul also says no person shall be justified by (Rom 3:20).
Yes, we agree that one has to have repentance. But being repentant over sin isn’t what saves us. Many people when converting to Christianity are repentant of their sins. Many people who become Christians aren’t repentant of their sins, and God has to correct them through the Holy Spirit in order for them to be repentant. Me personally, when I was first saved, there were sins I immediately gave up, and certain sins I still thought was okay and justifiable until the Holy Spirit corrected me and led me to repentance from those sins. The point is that if we know we are sinners, absolutely unable to redeem ourselves, yet place our trust in Christ to save us, then we are justified by God’s grace. That’s why faith is more than believing Jesus is who He says He is, but rather trusting in who He is and what He did in His death, burial, and resurrection to save us.
Obviously, works should naturally follow our faith, as faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26), but we can’t say that our deeds contribute to our entry into the kingdom of God, even if we say salvation is by both faith and works according to official Catholic doctrine, because if we mix even a bit of works into the Gospel, no matter how much emphasis we place on faith, it’s still in some way a salvation by works. This is exactly what Paul said in Romans 11:6,
      Romans 11:6
Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace.

@ChristIsLordofAll-xb6xv I never suggested we are justified by anything more than the grace of God and what Christ did on the cross. But you are 100% wrong about catholicism being a works based doctrine. Living in the faith requires obedience. If you choose to live in willful disobedience, you will pay the price.. and that's all I have to say to you about that. You have been indoctrinated with prejudice.

The doctrine of salvation by faith alone is a popular means by which many in the religious world have been deceived into believing they have obeyed the will of God and live under the presumption they are disciples of Christ. While the doctrine has been around for many years, Billy Graham did much to propagate the idea of salvation by faith alone. He writes, "Those who surrender their lives to Him and receive Him into their hearts. It is this act which makes you a Christian" (My Answer, 9/15/55). Pulpits throughout the land offer an invitation of false hope when honest people are seeking the way of salvation. What they are given is a doctrine of men that is not found in scripture.
Martin Luther said, "We are saved by faith alone, but the faith that saves is never alone." While he played with semantics, Luther suggested in opposition to the works salvation of the Roman Catholic Church that one had simply to have faith to be saved. Neither is true (salvation by works alone; salvation by faith alone) and yet many people are still being led to believe that accepting Christ as their Savior and Lord is all it takes to "make" a Christian.
Remarkably, the only place in the Bible (all sixty-six books) that "faith" and "alone" is found is written by James in James 2:17 - "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" (James 2:17 - King James Version). The American Standard Version renders the passage, "Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself." Martin Luther believed that James contradicted what Paul wrote but it never changed the truth of Paul's writings nor James because "no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God" (II Peter 1:21).
Not one example of a person becoming a New Testament disciple by "faith alone" is found in scripture. There are many examples of conversion (Acts of the Apostles) but none are told to say "yes" to Christ and at that moment experience the new birth. Does eternal life begin the moment we accept Christ as Savior and Lord? Not according to the Bible. Why do so many people believe in such a doctrine when there is no evidence of teaching in the word of God?
The great tragedy of the doctrine of salvation by faith alone is the deception it brings to the hearts of those who honestly are seeking the truth of deliverance from sin and in the mind of God fail to achieve that blessing. Why? The apostle Paul warned Timothy of the dangers of the doctrines of men. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables" (II Timothy 4:3-4). The doctrine of salvation by faith alone is a falsehood.
Is faith necessary for salvation? "Without faith it is impossible to please Him" (Hebrews 11:6). What did Peter tell those gathered on Pentecost (Acts 2:36-41)? What instructions were given the Samaritans in Acts 8:5-13? How did the Ethiopian become a disciple of Christ (Acts 8:35-38)? How did Paul explain his conversion (Acts 9:1-19; 22:1-21)? Cornelius found the truth in Acts 10 as did Lydia in Acts 16:13-15; the jailor in Acts 16:25-34 and the Corinthians in Acts 18:8.
What must you do to be saved today? Follow the same pattern as found in the New Testament. That is the only way to be a Christian (Luke 6:46-49).

Thank you Chance.... you mention coming to a "truly Biblical Church" but Do you know where the Catholic faith comes from? At the time the bible was canonized in the Fourth century, there were many "gospels" in circulation: the gospel of Peter, the gospel of Thomas, the gospel of Mary, etc. So who decided these books were not inspired, but Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were? The answer is the Catholic Church at the councils of Carthage and Hippo in 393 and 397AD. You can’t accept the Bible and reject the authority (guided by the Holy Spirit) from which it came. It comes from the Jews, who had the same three legs of their faith as we do: Scripture, Tradition and a Magisterium. The Bible itself does not proclaim Sola Scriptura and in fact speaks against it in the last paragraph of the Gospel of John. Paul emphasized that we are to hold fast to the traditions being taught, both oral and written. These are Apostolic traditions, not man-made traditions. You also cannot accept the Bible and reject the authority from which it came. God bless. This talk will help explain things for you... ua-cam.com/video/sx-qIvG-c9M/v-deo.html

It seems your answer to scripture is simply to pretend some verses don't exist
An interesting if somewhat flawed approach.
you quote verses that tell us we must believe in Jesus
Verily, verily, I say unto you, *He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;* because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. (1 John 5:1-2)
Scripture tell us what this means and what we will do
In regard to 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:7-8‬ you missed a crucial verse
Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
the testimony of Christ is his teaching.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (2 John 9-11)
This is the Law of Christ that St Paul talks about in the verse I gave you. (Gal 6:1-10)
not really sure what you mean by 1 Tim 1:12 but here is what St Paul teaches
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
      That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil 3:8-14)
the Law can not make us righteous but if we are to attain the resurrection, once we have receive God forgiveness we must be perfect living according to Christ Law>
you say "I’ve been born again and can’t be unborn"
What a strange term you can certainly die again
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? (Rom 6:16)
      God bless you

    SACRIFICING ISAAC as WORK.
👉When James said Abraham was justified by WORKS, surely it was not BEFORE GOD, but it was BEFORE MEN.
    James 2:23
👉Now, when Paul said in ROMANS that ABRAHAM was justified BUT NOT BEFORE GOD. He was referring to GOOD WORKS (obedience of Abraham). Paul said Abraham was justified by FAITH alone before GOD.

The woman could be quoted with Matthew 25, the parables of Jesus and even the letter of Saint James. I understand that Jesus words have more weight than Saint Paul's words. But as Father Aler mentions, not even her Saint Paul quote was correct. Evangelicals tend to pay more attention to Saint Paul and the old testament than to Jesus, which is sad.

Thus Jesus himself distinguishes between His redemption of us (His crucifixion and death), and our salvation (our choice to live a life of mercy! If we don't choose to adore His mercy - we will perish - even though we have already been redeemed by Him!

Well at least what you’re saying is congruent. The Protestant church contradicts itself and says “Jesus’ resurrection is what saves you. But also if you’re not Holy you can’t enter Heaven. And if the Holy Spirit is truly in you, you’ll just easily be Holy” ... which I guess makes sense? But it makes me feel extremely frustrated to think about even trying to be Holy?

It has never made any sense to me that you can achieve Heaven and eternal life simply by faith in God. What are we supposed to do during this earthly life then? It doesn’t matter how we behave towards each other? It seems a bit of a cop out to me!

Faith is NOT a checkbox like "yeah I believe in Jesus."
Remember, if you love Him you OBEY His commandments and gospels.
So it is an "active faith."
Also remember the parable of a rich young man? asking how to go to Heaven? then Jesus enumerated most of the Commandments?
So it is not a check box that by believing you are saved.

Thank you but nobody's boasting about them. Our Lord just says in Matthew 25 and James throughout his book that works of love are required

  • @gomezjkv
    @gomezjkv 3 місяці тому

But works of love are still works of the law. The Mosaic Law teaches to LOVE your neighbor as ourselves. So, any act of love toward another is a work of the law.
And how do we “love our neighbor”? If we were to ask our neighbors if they believe that we love them as we love ourselves, would they testify before God on our behalf? And, I hate being the bearer of bad news but it does not require faith in God to love our neighbor. There are many loving people in the world who reject the existence of God. I’m not saying that I believe that acts of “love” toward others are a bad thing. Just don’t think you’re gaining points with God be doing them. Do them because you want to and not for any reward or pat on the back you believe God owes you. God bless.

@@DivineMercy_Official So, you're saying that "love your neighbor as yourself" is not in the Law of Moses?

    • @ChristIsLordofAll-xb6xv
      @ChristIsLordofAll-xb6xv 2 місяці тому

@@DivineMercy_Official Sure, but the Law of Moses isn’t restricted to the customary laws of the Israelites.
