I know this is an older video, so I hope you get to see my comment. It's March 2023, and I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your seated workouts. Almost a year ago, I had a heart attack following a stroke six months prior. My PT introduced me to your channel at the rehab facility where I recovered after an extended hospital stay. It has been a much slower recuperation process than I'd hoped, but I made decent progress - until I got Covid over Christmas. It was a HUGE setback. I'm only just starting to feel a little more like myself. Although it's been difficult, I'm so-o-o very thankful for the gentle, slow but strengthening movements you demonstrate clearly and patiently (without any weird condescending attitude). It's like you understand my struggle with limited energy and low stamina as I am unable to participate in high intensity standing or floor exercises right now. I'm committed to improving my health prognosis for the chronic diseases I'm overcoming and determined to regain my full mobility. Your content is helping me succeed. THANKS, Meredith!

Meredith thank you so much for your videos… I just turned 67 and during this pandemic I put on about 40 pounds… Five weeks ago I started the keto lifestyle… And I’m down 21 pounds… I ordered my resistor bands and I’m walking about 2 miles a day but your videos are perfect while I’m at work and I have some spare time. I haven’t stretched in a long time So this is perfect thank you so much

I'm so glad I found your video, Meredith. I am a big proponent of resistance band training. That's all I do now after using weights for many years. Your routine in this video is PERFECT for my 89-year-old mom who wants to exercise at home. Thanks SO much Meredith for this brilliant video. I broke my arm near the shoulder after a nasty fall rushing at home/tripping over a carpet gripper. Regaining full muscle movement has been slow (and painful). I am indebted to my wonderful, wonderful husband for all he had to do throughout the many weeks of me being unable even to dress/undress myself. I continue to be indebted also to Worcester Royal's Physiotherapy Dept - and its brilliant physiotherapist Rachel - for all her support and the exercises given me to do in between appointments. Prior to breaking my arm I used to attend weekly Senior Keep Fit sessions (and bought myself a couple of resistance bands to use). Serendipity led me to find your Senior Fitness - Resistance Band Exercises video Meredith. I just know that, in addition to continuing with the exercises recommended by the wonderful physiotherapist Rachel, if I - sensibly - follow those in your video, I will be able to WOW Rachel at my next appointment. Thank you so much for this Meredith. What a comprehensive workout. I am learning how to properly use the bands as I have a lifetime of using weights and many times the bands allow me to connect or “feel” the contractions of the muscles better and they seem to feel safer as well. I’ll be following this workout and any others workouts or helpful videos that you may have. It feels good to be able to transition into a new modality that just seems better for me as I approach 60. I'm really grateful for your videos. After a total knee replacement surgery six months ago and at home mostly because of the Covid pandemic, I had difficulty in finding a workout for the whole body that I could follow till the end. Now I can do almost everything and I keep feeling better and stronger day after day. Thank you, you're a great instructor and an amazing person!

I am recovering from a stroke and my physical therapist started with me using the resistance bands to strengthen my body. I needed to learn to walk all over again and the exercises really worked. When I was released from the hospital, I found Meredith's exercises and doing these really helped out a lot. THANK YOU SO MUCH MEREDITH!! Now I am using the beans for a full body workout. I never realized that using the bands were so effective! 🦾

Perfect workout for me! My heart rate got up there, and I love these shorter workouts. I find I get sort of bored with long workouts, I’m not a very physical person. I managed to do a 23 minute walk, an 11 minute video earlier, and finished off my day with this video which was about 14 minutes of exercise, just right. Thank you for making exercise more doable for us seniors.
@@SeniorFitnessWithMeredith My comment actually got attached to the wrong workout. I was referring to "Senior Fitness - Low Impact Cardio Workout". I do plan on trying the resistance band workout too. I have some bands, some with handles, and some plain that were given to me at PT.
Thank you for the free videos. This pandemic has really impacted on 60+ age group as it's been nearly 2 years of not being able to move freely within Australia especially. Due to mask wearing & other limitations in this country particularly so many of us have been sedentary and the end result is massive muscle loss & weight gain. Have done the well with dropping the excess weight but getting active again is so difficult
I was looking for some exercises for my mom who is slowly getting old (60) and needs to start doing some light exercise. Thanks for the tips! She can start out with 5 minutes a day because she can do it at home (no excuses) and I believe she will build a habit. Also, your videos are nice, you are very cute and you have positive vibes, thank you for doing this.

Seems just what I was looking for, to gradually work at muscle building. I have shoulder impingement, & bursitis that mainly affects my mobility of my R. Shoulder & arm. Have been picking up randomly exercises, on UA-cam, unfortunately nothing that I could corporate as a daily workout, that would motivate me daily to pursue. Thank you.

This may be a year old but it is the first time I have tried it. It was good, I feel like I know where some muscles might be lol. I have always struggled knowing where I should be moving from, what should be working and I found this simple to follow as well which really helped. Branching out from the cardio videos... Who said 2020 was a waste of a year?.. I have personally discovered more to help live a healthy life than my other 40 years on this earth. I feel 2020 has been a blessing in many ways. (yes, it's been dreadful I agree, but if I focus on the good, the good things multiply)

ps - after reading the comments. I'm 81, had a stroke a bit over a year ago. I have a therapy pool nearby where I walk on a treadmill and have an endless river coming towards me 3 days a week. I know I'm in need of resistance training. Upper body needs strengthening as well. I'm looking forward to our session with you tomorrow. :) I'll start here and work my way towards working all of your videos. Thank you.
Outstanding work with the therapy bands, I use to use the bands to pump up doing competition, NPC. I became a SARescue and would swim for hours. I equated bands with swimming. I have added I too encourage ppl to be realistic with training and have pointed ppl in your direction. I found I could double the bands and even do dynamic tension hold as you executed you range of motion. Good job
This is a n excellent workout. It would be suitable for a beginner or someone more experienced. You work at your own level. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hi, I’m an 80 year old with limited movement in each shoulder through RA. I’ve tried several from the Sunflower Channel & the Christie Chanel videos, which are good, but I wanted something different so I’ll follow this video tomorrow. I’ve got a red band is that ok.?
I'm 48 but have health issues that keep me from doing a lot of strenuous workouts. I find with these I can go slower or harder with them for how I am feeling physically that day and I still swear and burn calories.

I posted on another video how much longer liked your exercises and sequence. Thanks for replying. Just found this video and like it even more! My groups are 8-30 people at several senior living communities. The age range is 75-98! Their comprehension is much slower than a younger senior population and I had a challenge getting them all to position the panda correctly! I speak slowly and make sure they can see me and how I place the band. I do think this particular sequence will be more user friendly to the advanced senior. I will be testing it today with two large groups. A question: many seniors have shoulder impingement or pain which limits their ability to take the band often to even shoulder level! Up and overhead isn’t even a consideration. What do you suggest as an alternative to still hit the intended muscles? Now I just saw raise it to your level of comfort. Any suggestions you have are appreciated! I’m really glad I found your channel. Your videos are much less complicated than numerous others I’ve saved. Thank you!

And any suggestions you have, I would love to hear any feedback :) As far as your question is concerned...I too rarely do any overhead movements. Side raises no higher than shoulder level, but enough to get contraction in the shoulder muscles is my suggestion. Also, upright rows, again, even if range of motion is smaller but the shoulder muscles are being utilized...that is what we are looking for. Prior to breaking my arm I used to attend weekly Senior Keep Fit sessions (and bought myself a couple of resistance bands to use).
Serendipity led me to find your Senior Fitness - Resistance Band Exercises video Meredith.
I just know that, in addition to continuing with the exercises recommended by the wonderful physiotherapist Rachel, if I - sensibly - follow those in your video, I will be able to WOW Rachel at my next appointment.
AND, when I regain, full movement I will continue to exercise with my bands watching your amazing video.

I am learning how to properly use the bands as I have a lifetime of using weights and many times the bands allow me to connect or “feel” the contractions of the muscles better and they seem to feel safer as well.
I’ll be following this workout and any others workouts or helpful videos that you may have.
It feels good to be able to transition into a new modality that just seems better for me as I approach 60.

I'm really grateful for your videos. After a total knee replacement surgery six months ago and at home mostly because of the Covid pandemic, I had difficulty in finding a workout for the whole body that I could follow till the end. I am recovering from a stroke and my physical therapist started with me using the resistance bands to strengthen my body. I needed to learn to walk all over again and the exercises really worked. When I was released from the hospital, I found Meredith's exercises and doing these really helped out a lot. THANK YOU SO MUCH MEREDITH!! Now I am using the beans for a full body workout. I never realized that using the bands were so effective! 🦾

Perfect workout for me! My heart rate got up there, and I love these shorter workouts. I find I get sort of bored with long workouts, I’m not a very physical person. I managed to do a 23 minute walk, an 11 minute video earlier, and finished off my day with this video which was about 14 minutes of exercise, just right.

Thank you for the free videos. This pandemic has really impacted on 60+ age group as it's been nearly 2 years of not being able to move freely within Australia especially. Due to mask wearing & other limitations in this country particularly so many of us have been sedentary and the end result is massive muscle loss & weight gain. Have done the well with dropping the excess weight but getting active again is so difficult

Seems just what I was looking for, to gradually work at muscle building. I have shoulder impingement, & bursitis that mainly affects my mobility of my R. Shoulder & arm. This may be a year old but it is the first time I have tried it. It was good, I feel like I know where some muscles might be lol. I have always struggled knowing where I should be moving from, what should be working and I found this simple to follow as well which really helped. Branching out from the cardio videos... Who said 2020 was a waste of a year?.. I have personally discovered more to help live a healthy life than my other 40 years on this earth. I feel 2020 has been a blessing in many ways. (yes, it's been dreadful I agree, but if I focus on the good, the good things multiply)

Outstanding work with the therapy bands, I use to use the bands to pump up doing competition, NPC.
I became a SARescue and would swim for hours. I equated bands with swimming.
I have added
I too encourage ppl to be realistic with training and have pointed ppl in your direction.
I found I could double the bands and even do dynamic tension hold as you executed you range of motion.

I’m an 80 year old with limited movement in each shoulder through RA.
I’ve tried several from the Sunflower Channel & the Christie Chanel videos, which are good, but I wanted something different so I’ll follow this video tomorrow. I’ve got a red band is that ok.?
I'm 48 but have health issues that keep me from doing a lot of strenuous workouts. I find with these I can go slower or harder with them for how I am feeling physically that day and I still swear and burn calories.

I posted on another video how much longer liked your exercises and sequence. Thanks for replying.
Just found this video and like it even more! My groups are 8-30 people at several senior living communities. The age range is 75-98! Their comprehension is much slower than a younger senior population and I had a challenge getting them all to position the panda correctly! I speak slowly and make sure they can see me and how I place the band.
I do think this particular sequence will be more user friendly to the advanced senior. I will be testing it today with two large groups.
A question: many seniors have shoulder impingement or pain which limits their ability to take the band often to even shoulder level! Up and overhead isn’t even a consideration. What do you suggest as an alternative to still hit the intended muscles? Now I just saw raise it to your level of comfort. Any suggestions you have are appreciated!

As far as your question is concerned...I too rarely do any overhead movements. Side raises no higher than shoulder level, but enough to get contraction in the shoulder muscles is my suggestion. Also, upright rows, again, even if range of motion is smaller but the shoulder muscles are being utilized...that is what we are looking for.
