Really refreshing to hear this point of view being talked about regarding fertility. When I turned 30 something changed in me and I knew babies were something I wanted in the near future. I’m 35 now with 2 kids under 3 years old and couldn’t be happier. It’s great you are exploring all options xx
Happily just had my first baby at 37. I just wasn’t ready before. I knew the older I was getting the riskier it could be, but I knew that if it didn’t happen I was willing to accept that. But we are all different - you really learn that during pregnancy and when you actually have a baby! Do what your gut tells you 👍
Estee, your openness is so refreshing. I'm 31 approaching 32 and thinking of my fertility also. I don't think it's talked about enough. It feels as though theres a ticking time bomb and I'm still not sure what direction I want to go in yet in terms of my future. Also, I suffer with extreme anxiety too, and have trouble sleeping and even every day tasks, at times. You're not alone, and thank you for talking about these things so that collectively people can feel solidarity when suffering with these issues. I'm wishing you well!

So true! Definitely needs to be talked about more xx
I think it is so refreshing to hear you talk about the efforts, the anxiety and the little things that goes around your business too. I never thought this much effort went to pop-ups. Wow!
From the first "meet up " to a pop up at Space NK for your own products. What a ride! Congratulations! And, so glad you are taking charge of your health, making solid decisions. I wish you success, happiness, and joy.
Smart move to get checked and see where you're at with fertility. I froze my eggs when I was single at 37 (2 rounds) and now I'm 43, married, and we're on our 3rd round of fertility/IVF treatments. Egg freezing never guarantees a baby but it's truly an insurance policy on yourself to increase your odds that I think is always worth it. Everyone's journey is different - best wishes with yours and I look forward to following it, whatever you choose to share. xx
Your openness on fertility is so welcome and needed. Speaking from experience and not having the outcome I wished I had, I think arming yourself with knowledge about your own body will only help you make more informed decisions especially when we face the reality of possible fertility challenges as we get older. Thank you, Estée
I LOVE how proactive you are about female health! ❤ Thank you so much for sharing, it’s so important for us all to be supportive of one another and advocate for our health! X
It’s soooo important to do that test regularly. I did it and they found out last summer, just turned 40 that my cells were really bad, so they had to remove my uterus. After the biopsy they found out that a little later and would have turned into cancer. I hope your results will be fine! ❤

That's so scary but exactly why its necessary! I'm glad you caught it before it became anything worse 😌
The soft launching is out of control girl!! I’m 40 now, after about a year of sublte broodiness i decided against having children. I had to sort out a lot of mental health stuff, was i therapy for 4 years..and i just couldn’t see myself parenting a child when i was learning to prent myself. I need a lot of peace and quiet and down time, and i like my place to be tidy😂. I am very close with my nieces and babysit for friends a lot and I like to think that I’m having a positive impact on several childrens lives, i love them all, but i also love coming home to a clean place and chilling in peace. It takes a village as they say! It’s a tough decision, i know women who have just always wanted it, there was no questions…i had too many doubts. You’ve already got the answers i guess x
So many women sharing here about fertility! I’m 31 myself, unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant for a year now. With what my sister and cousin went through, I’m getting into bad mental territory now. Two of my other friends (31 and 34) are in the same boat! It’s incredible how little is it spoken about still. We hate to be told that time is ticking and want to get on with our lives first as adults who are still forming themselves, so it’s just so frustrating when the story turns out true.
Hi Estée! Fellow Canadian and long time viewer - always love your content! I’m 30 and I totally hear you regarding fertility. I feel like women don’t speak about this topic enough. I’m not an influencer by any means but I actually made a UA-cam video last year regarding my egg freezing experience. I made the vid to help normalize this topic and raise awareness because I felt very alone going through it. Wishing you all the best and I’m happy to answer any qs if I can be of any help at all. Thanks again for your awesomeness and your amazing content, always!!! And congrats on the pop-up at Space NK!
I am 32 and also thinking spending money for a ‘fertility check up’ so i... know how much I should panic about having kids 😂 so plzzz keep us updated with that sort of stuff!!
Thank you for your honesty re fertility. I’m turning 30 this year and feel the pressure. Want to do a fertility check up but scared it will tell me I can’t have children or that I need to freeze my eggs but then won’t be able to afford it. It’s scary, but really appreciate hearing other people’s views!
Hi Estee! I waited until my mid to late thirties to have children for many reasons but of course, I wanted to focus on my career. I had 0 issues getting pregnant with both girls even though I had so much anxiety about my age and whether I waited too long. Most of my friends also waited until mid to late thirties. I wanted to May be ease any uncertainty you may be having. Thank you for sharing the importance of Pap tests, and I hope your fertility scan goes well!
Your honest and openness in conversations are appreciated Esteé. You’re very relatable in many way’s. Thank you I wish I lived in England Esteé. I would’ve made sure to have gone to your Mirror Water event. Happiness for you and your business is an understatement. I have anxiety too, it can be rough sometimes especially at night time for some reason. Paps are always scary more the idea of the unknown which is in itself anxiety inducing. ❤
I can relate to thinking about kids, and just wanted to spread the good news a friend had a baby at 40 and is very happy, I know that’s not everyone’s ideal but if it can happen for her I’m sure it can happen for you. Be gentle with yourselves ladies ❤
Thanks for being honest about your fertility and anxiety. When I had anxiety episodes, it was so hard to sleep because my heart would race. Sending love your way! You got this!
I'm just about to turn 36 and after 3 failed rounds of IVF I wish more people had discussed this topic when I was younger! Think it's an amazing idea to freeze eggs as early as you can xxx
I'm turning 35 this year and honestly never thought about my fertility during the last years. After I had my uterus and ovaries checkup last year, I was told that it's looking excellent for my age and I realized that it is actually important for me. It was a very weird experience, as I would only go for my yearly check-up at the gynecologist. So I was taken by surprise, as the doctor immediately told me that everything looked very good and that the blood work is fine. I was relieved, although I did not attend it for that reason. I don't know if my plan is to have children in the future, but I would suggest checking your fertility - so you just know about your options and are at peace no matter the results.
I wrote your company after receiving my Mirror Water rub and let them know. It really helped me through dry skin associated with a cold and using tissues a lot. There was no irritation whatsoever. And it was really soothing!
I'm 34 and I have 3 girls (I had my first kid at 28). For all 3 of my pregnancies I took folic acid the year before I got pregnant. It helps prevent neural tube defects for the baby 🙂
Folic acid is the vitamin B9 and it is very important for mother to have adequate amounts of folic acid during early pregnancy. Folic acid deficiency causes neural tube defects in the fetus, so if you are planning to have a child it’s better to make sure that your folic acid levels are normal. Even though mothers can get the folic acid from green vegetables, during pregnancy consumption of it is highly increased and there is a risk of deficiency.
So refreshing to have someone talk so openly about fertility. One recommendation I have if you're considering freezing your eggs is listening to the podcast (under the "Armchair Expert" umbrella, by Dax Shephard and Monica Padman) called Race to 35. Monica and her friend record episodes every night that they have to take the hormone shots during their egg freezing journey and they talk very openly about the entire process. I thought it was suuuper interesting and insightful - even if you're not wanting to freeze your eggs!
I would love to hear more about your fertility journey. I am 32 turning 33 this year and newly single... Also thining about freezing my eggs. Not an easy topic at all for women our age... Thanks for sharing! :)
Absolutely great idea to start your fertility journey in your early 30s. I did and it took 3 years and several misscarriages before we were blessed with our 2 girls, (my 2nd is just a week old!) 💕 so I don't want to scare you, you may have no problems at all!!! But best to prepare for the unexpected when it comes to baby making. So excited for you to embark on that journey 😍
Watching this in bed and all the food content has me wanting to get up for a snack 😂. Glad you are taking care of yourself and planning for the future, I think the more prepared the better when it comes to fertility issues. I hope your anxiety has settled a bit, and wishing you an amazing time at the pop up, it looks so good 😍 Hope everyone that can make it has a fab time! 😘
If you feel comfortable doing so, I would love to continue hearing about your fertility maintenance and upkeep (I mean, that makes it sound like a car, but you know what I mean 😂) I’m only 24, but single and know I really want kids. After having an eating disorder, I do worry about my fertility, so it’s something I’m always interested to hear about.
In Denmark we also get smears. It is really not painfull or anything, takes just a couple of seconds and saves lifes. I also had abnormal cells and freaked out. Had autopsies done and now they are gone. I wish more women understand how important that is, to take care of yourself and your health. Glad to see you using your platform to talk about these things, much respect to you!
2 роки тому+3
Yes they are so so important! I'm glad to hear you're okay though! xx
I had abnormal cells but was never given the opportunity to have them tested? Also in the UK but this was with the NHS. If anyone has had a similar experience let me know!
Abnormal cells do not have to mean anything bad. Many women have them, they can come and go. But I think you should ask for extra test just to be sure :) Here it is normal procedure to make further testing to see where in the cervix these abnormal cells are. If they are in the start of the cervix they just test us every 6 months. If they do not go away they perform a cone biopsy and "remove" the part that has these abnormal cells so they do not spread. I am no doctor so correct me if I am wrong!
Yes, you DEF need to be taking folic bc the second you get pregnant the baby needs the folic in those first few days and weeks of growing! ❤ you would be the best mommy. Motherhood club is seriously so much fun 🎉 it’s a hidden gem
It's great to see a video from you Estee, it always brightens my day. Keep being kind to yourself and looking after yourself, building a business is a lot.
Cheer up estee 😊 i too has been having a tough january and all im waiting these days is that to see new videos from my favorite vloggers. So thank you for showing up for us and we are here for you too! All the love from 🇵🇭🤍
Stay cool my loves. My mother got pregnant with my brother at 38 and with me at 42. 1-2 months after her wedding. Stay positive please, good things are on the way.
I turned 33 and decided I wanted a baby. Downloaded the flo app and plugged in my info. Tried conceiving with my partner (of 13 years) 2 days before and on the day of ovulation and BAM I’m now 14 weeks pregnant ❤
I have endometriosis and I was anorexic for 10 years. I was told I would have fertility issues. I had a LOT of unprotected sex for a year with no pregnancy, and then I had a moderate amount of unprotected sex for 5 years and still no pregnancy. Then I got with my current partner. I was tracking my ovulation through natural cycles as my contraception, because I'd been told I was infertile (and had that somewhat proved to me by my previous behaviour and lack of conception). We fell pregnant within 2 months 😂 now I have the most wonderful 6 month old daughter, Juniper, and my life is complete. I've never been happier or more fulfilled. All this to say - if you do get bad news re fertility, take it with a pinch of salt 😂
Yay you're back! Happy New Year! I am glad that you shared your experience with your reproductive health. I also had an abnormal culture and thankfully it turned out fine. My reproductive health has been something on my mind too as a 32 year old myself. I definitely would want to freeze my eggs to hopefully have kids someday. Also, something that was helpful for me and my anxiety has been thc gummies for sleep. It's great for when I need help getting to sleep and sleeping a full 8 hours.
First time I went to the GYN was last year at 31, and I also had an abnormal result. I totally freaked out and didn't realize that it is more common than I thought. Got pregnant 5 months later and everything is totally fine. I think most women have these thoughts in their journey but it isn't talked about!
Yes to folic acid!!! Look into the kind of vitamins you are taking and the optimal absorption! Good luck with anything and everything you decide to do. ❤️
I hear you girl, I am always nervous before my smear too, we're all in the same boat Estee! Always feel proud of myself afterwards too coz it's so important, thanks for the reminder. I will try to make it to your pop up in the weekend! It's my 30th birthday soon so maybe I'll treat myself to some mirror water products xx
I'm turning 30 this year, not in a relationship but do want children in the future if I can. I've been thinking about freezing my eggs, but need to educate myself more on this topic. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Please keep us updated!
I’m starting IVF soon (my partner is a woman so it’s necessary regardless of my fertility haha) and it’s nice to hear others talk about the anxiety around fertility at our age (I turn 32 shortly). I really hope you get positive answers from your tests and you can get pregnant when/if you want to!
Same here! My fiancée and I are both planning to freeze our eggs after our wedding in 2024 - we are both still 27 and 28 but want to take care of freezing before it’s too late! ❤
Folic acid is essential. I was recommended to just take prenatal vitamins prior to trying as well. I had fertility issues so I was taking prenatals for like a few years ahead of pregnancy but it’s really just a multivitamin.
Yay - new video after well-deserved break! Every woman should get their smear (Pap test in US). It's really not that bad (neither is a mammogram). Please take care of yourselves! I just treat myself after these appointments... a nice cup of coffee from somewhere cute, shop at a cute little shop, etc. I plan that ahead of time and think of it while the procedure/test is going on. (I also do this while at the dentist twice a year for cleanings). Just thinking about treating myself makes me happy!
Happy new year, keep us updated on the Folic Acid, I’ve been recommended but still yet to try not sure if there’s scientific proof of it doing anything! Great to see you back 🎉
It's important to make sure you're getting enough folic acid, especially when trying to conceive, as a folic acid deficiency can lead to pregnancy complications or birth defects. I'm not UK based but trust the NHS website for information if you want to check it out there. I hope that doesn't sound preachy 😅
Yes there is actually a lot of scientific proof! In some countries Folic Acid is substituted in salt, so that the population has no deficiency. Low folic acid can lead to a so called spina bifida during embroygenesis. Have a good day!
Really appreciate you talking about fertility. Highly recommend reading the recent NYT article profiling women who have gone through the egg freezing process. They explored the topic in response to a study that was published this past summer looking at 15 years of data from NYU's research hospital fertility department.
Thanks so much for sharing, I just listened to Armchair Expert’s show Race to 35 about fertility and would highly recommend it! Such a great and informative series.
My advice is to start trying as soon as you can if you are sure you want a baby. It’s never a “perfect” time, but if you’re sure you want a baby, it’s literally THE best blessing. Your life will change in the most wonderful way. Get married and do all the fam things. It’s amazing ❤. I was 31 when I found out I was pregnant, now 32 and my little is 2mo old.
I wish I had decided to get pregnant sooner, I was waiting til I was ready and honestly I think I should’ve done it earlier! But I’m happy with how things are regardless.
Oh my gosh! Sooo happy to see you. Everyday I would check in case I missed your upload. How are you? How was your holidays? Btw have you got any progress on your UK residency application? Just wondered since my friend just applied.
You’ve got plenty of time, don’t stress yourself. I had my son at 38. Always good to get fertility checked though, as I know not everyone is as lucky as I was! I know people who still got pregnant at 46.
"If I was in London or lived nearer I would have definitely come to the pop up. I always wonder where Effie goes when you go out all day Estee?! As always interesting topics in your vlogs."
Im also thinking about fertility stuff and am so appreciative of your sharing that about your life. My sister is a doula and recommended the Garden of Life Dr. Formulated Prenatal Multi + DHA. In the US I’ve only found it at Target. I also started taking a calcium + magnesium supplement. That is actually more for mood stuff because I was struggling with PMS/PMDD. It seems to be helping. Wishing you all the best, Estée!
I’m 34 and froze my eggs last year. Best decision and wasn’t as hard or expensive as I imagined (thankfully I have good insurance, but for transparency still spent about $3000-$5000). It helped me not be so consumed by the “ticking clock”. Ladies get your fertility levels tested sooner than later. Mine were low and that led me to the egg freezing decision.
Folic acid can also help with depression as well! (Folate is required as part of the cycle that produces most of your major neurotransmitters including dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine and serotonin) so two birds one stone :)
I've had a colcoscopy & biopsy after an abnormal smear. All was fine, follow up yearly smears were all fine & back to 3 yearly. Get those smears ladies, it's painless & so so important.
I supplement vitamin B12 and folic acid because I have a specific type of anemia (megaloblastic anemia), even if you don't - they are important for our blood cells :)
I'm in the USA and my Dr has never had me cough for a 'smear'. I thought only men had to do that for their exams. LOL Health care must be better there in the UK. When I was your age I was also curious about my fertility but I would have had to pay cash for it. I would have had to be actively trying (and I was single) for over a year with the same person for them (insurance) to cover any testing and even then it's very limited. I'm glad you're able to do that and know while you're still 'of age' to have kids.❤
also i take the methylated form of folic acid (methyl-folate) because im irish where a gene mutation is fairly common in regards to the enzyme that turns folic acid bio-available. Its the same thing but taking folic acid if your homozygous for this mutation can actually cause more problems than it helps. But yes take the folate! btw - its not folic acid in veggies/seaweed - its a chemical called folate. a little different and not affected by the gene mutation.
I just turned 28 and broke up with my long term partner a few months ago. I’ve definitely started to think about freezing my eggs - I just don’t know where life will take me in the next few years!
All my friends have frozen their eggs some in later 30s, I went to do it last summer (age 34) all chuffed with myself only to realise my AMH/egg count was really really low and should do embryo freezing if I’m lucky! Figuring out what do with my partner cos that sh*t is £££. Anyone reading this ignoring fertility, just go for the tests so you know where you stand and can prepare either way even if you think babies are gross right now…
Hello from Tennessee! Re: fertility - I would suggest taking something with FOLATE not FOLIC ACID as up to 30% of most people have a polymorphism aka an inability to convert folic acid to folate (the form your body needs). Plenty of products out there have folate, and it will be much more effective in assisting with fertility and healthy pregnancy :) As always ask your doctor, but coming from the nutraceuticals industry I'm happy to share. PS Glad to see you back at vlogging! Happy New Year!
You won’t regret freezing your eggs but you might regret not doing it so if you’re in a place financially to afford that luxury, 100% you should do it ❤ good luck on your journey!!
Hi Estee! What is your eye color? Is it blue or gray? Just learned that they are different. Btw I had a baby at 39 with IVF (had unexplained infertility - everything looked great for me and my partner but the baby wouldn't come for years). IVF worked really well in my second time but the first time most of my eggs did not mature interestingly. For the second try, my doctor made me use the drugs 2 days longer than usual but I also made a lot of life style changes such as eating more protein (2 hard boiled eggs a day, lots of fish and legumes etc), drinking filtered water, not using teflon, taking low dose melatonin etc based on the book "Everything Starts with the Egg". Hope your fertility journey will be smooth and you have a baby when you want it :)

If you feel comfortable doing so, I would love to continue hearing about your fertility maintenance and upkeep (I mean, that makes it sound like a car, but you know what I mean 😂)
I’m only 24, but single and know I really want kids.
Yay! Estee is BACK
So good to see you back here on UA-cam!!
Goodluck for the event, you're the best❤️✨
Sending good vibes from Italy!! 🫶🏼
Hi how r u.....
Cheer up estee 😊 i too has been having a tough january and all im waiting these days is that to see new videos from my favorite vloggers. So thank you for showing up for us and we are here for you too! All the love from 🇵🇭🤍
Hi
Stay cool my loves.
My mother got pregnant with my brother at 38 and with me at 42.
1-2 months after her wedding.
Stay positive please, good things are on the way.
So glad to hear about some of your personal life a bit :) how long have you and your partner been together?
I turned 33 and decided I wanted a baby. Downloaded the flo app and plugged in my info. Tried conceiving with my partner (of 13 years) 2 days before and on the day of ovulation and BAM I’m now 14 weeks pregnant ❤
Happy new year! Love the reminder to all to get a smear. Women's health is so important 💚
All this to say - if you do get bad news re fertility, take it with a pinch of salt 😂
first of all happy new year girl, second of all I hope that your pop up runs smoothly
Hi
@@VSandTaylorSwiftLove good luck!! It’s an exciting time and congrats on your wedding also! You have the same name as my wife 😊
Folic acid is essential. I was recommended to just take prenatal vitamins prior to trying as well. I had fertility issues so I was taking prenatals for like a few years ahead of pregnancy but it’s really just a multivitamin.
Loved you for a looooong time Estee. You’re awesome
Hi
So nice to see someone taking charge of their fertility before actually planning the baby!!
Loved the honesty in this video Estee ❤️
Congratulations and good luck with the pop up store! Hope everything goes well :)
Estee, so happy to see you back! 🎉
Those cookies 🍪 looked delish ! Would you be able to share the recipe? X
Hi
Yes! Need to hear more about this freezing eggs thing!
Happy New Year Estée, those cookies... chef's kiss, talented baker! Good luck with your pop up too 🥰🧡🤩
Happy new year, keep us updated on the Folic Acid, I’ve been recommended but still yet to try not sure if there’s scientific proof of it doing anything!
Thank you!!
lovely to see you back happy new year xx
Really appreciate you talking about fertility. Highly recommend reading the recent NYT article profiling women who have gone through the egg freezing process. They explored the topic in response to a study that was published this past summer looking at 15 years of data from NYU's research hospital fertility department.
Hi
I love your new home !!!!
Happy New Years Estee! Love you have been watching you for years!
way to go with the POP UP!- wish I could be there- lots of love from Berlin xoxo
My thoughts are that I wish more people would consider adopting.
Estee the same night I couldn't sleep!
Huge anxiety!
Now I know that I wasn't alone!
Happy New Year!!! You must still be at the pop-up... please accept my very best wishes for a great success and a fun day. You've got this!!!
Love you Estee! Sending you all the best wishes and luck with everything 💖
Missed you! Happy New Year! 😘
Happy new year gorgeous. love you 🧡
Estee I love your balaclava, where is it from?!
Hi
Folic acid can also help with depression as well! (Folate is required as part of the cycle that produces most of your major neurotransmitters including dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine and serotonin) so two birds one stone :)
Thanks for this will make sure to start taking some. It's sitting in a drawer somewhere )
Happy new year 😊
I wish I could be at the pop up!, love a fellow Canadian
Rossy is so cute! hope the pop up goes well. wish i could come!
also i take the methylated form of folic acid (methyl-folate) because im irish where a gene mutation is fairly common in regards to the enzyme that turns folic acid bio-available. Its the same thing but taking folic acid if your homozygous for this mutation can actually cause more problems than it helps. But yes take the folate! btw - its not folic acid in veggies/seaweed - its a chemical called folate. a little different and not affected by the gene mutation.
Where is your fleecejacket from? ❤
Good luck for the pop up! I have my smear test today 🙌🏻
Regular multi vitamins usually contain the recomended daily intake of folic acid, so you might already have it covered
Omggggg the ring you are wearing in this video is so so cute! Where did you get it?
Please do a pop up in Los Angeles! ❤
Estee could you share the cookie recipe? They look so good 👌🏾♥️
I just turned 28 and broke up with my long term partner a few months ago. I’ve definitely started to think about freezing my eggs - I just don’t know where life will take me in the next few years!
Love these vids💝
YES!! Estée FOLATE not folic acid 👍🏻👍🏻
FOLATE! yes
Great point!
You won’t regret freezing your eggs but you might regret not doing it so if you’re in a place financially to afford that luxury, 100% you should do it ❤ good luck on your journey!!
Would you maybe share your cookie recipe? They look soooo good
Hope your fertility journey will be smooth and you have a baby when you want it :)
hi estée! happy new years.
preventative health queen! thanks for sharing
