Hi Danni, I just found you last week and love your videos!!! There is something I would like to share with you from my personal experience with all due respect. (I acknowledge that everyone does do the holidays with family differently). Thirty five years ago, my mother in law said to me as a new bride, " Thanksgiving is my holiday, so you need to spend it with us and you can spend any other holidays with your family". Well, as a new bride...I didn't balk at this because I didn't want to make "waves". Now, 35 years later, I regret, big time... agreeing to this "rule". I never spent Thanksgiving with my sisters who are now in their 70s and I regret it immensely. In fact, I'm actually sick about it. I have apologized to my sisters over and over again and all they say is, "we couldn't figure out why you agreed to this and left us out". Now, as a mother in law, I do not have any "rules" for holidays with my children and their spouses. Every holiday is important and matters and should be alternatively split. I am now mad and bitter at myself for agreeing to this and my mother in law for enforcing her opinion and feelings. No one...owns the holidays. Please.... reconsider your rule. You don't want your children's spouses to feel this way after decades of following it. I am being real, honest and authentic here. It wasn't right for her to "claim" any holiday as her own!!!!

I'm glad you like my videos and that you found me. I'm sorry that you had such a big regret but in all fairness, I don't put "all my family stuff" out there. I have a great relationship with my kids and they know that they are always free to choose where they go on the holidays but they also know how much our family loves Thanksgiving, all together.

She's so cute! I'm taking the whole day to be crafty - this is the first day I've had off from work (no tutoring sessions AT ALL!) since September 27. Card making, diamond art, crochet, and maybe even a tag or two are the only things on my agenda :) Happy Thanksgiving!
