The game is on steam sale now, i trust the developers have made a lot of improvements since this video, but this is the video i will watch, before buying. Miss you TB.
Just got this on humblebundle for £1.49. It's a steal.
His tone sounds really negative but i'm not hearing anything bad =P
Played Caesar III to death (the early levels anyway) but was never really interested in the military side of it.
Never paid much attention to how the path system worked in that... in this you are blocking off areas and that makes it vital and takes a little getting used to..
The tutorial is bad in the standard way. it's long and gives you lots of things you are supposed to read but don't really need to. Along with playing sandbox mode a bit it helps understanding the basics. It would have been nice if the tutorial was part of the campaign/the campaign eased you in. But it doesn't, you start placing your houses and working out how food and water works and the emperor starts demanding silk. And you don't have a decription of buildings until you place them, wasting money building things to find out what they are or what they need to find they are useless to you atm.
It automatically starts you on medium difficulty so if you really hate tutorials maybe playing on easy and building a city you know is a bit crap might be an alternative way of going about it...
The game is flawed in a few ways but not game breaking and not more than the original games were. It scratches an itch.
Would love to see more.

Because he used to have comments disabled, because he didn't want to deal with them. I guess someone must have removed the block after his passing...
@@h3rteby No. He disabled the comments when UA-cam fucked up the comment system years ago. He removed the restriction when they fixed it while he was still alive, but people still just did not comment.
@@Stewiehleba interesting, always assumed he did it, because he was dealing with cancer, and just didn't want to waste time on comment section.
Also thanks to this I think I found worthy successor to this rather forgotten genre of games that I really like.
@@toflow1177 yep, you are right, I heard her say something along the lines of “somebody couldn’t stay away from the negativity but I don’t have that problem” on a stream once about why she did it.

Man, no one can help me make my mind up about a purchase as well as TB could...I was leaning towards getting this but this video made me realise it’s definitely not for me.
