The tricky thing is that this latest update is 62mb and to my knowledge the limit for N64 cartridges is literally 64mb BUT WHO KNOWS maybe they have a way around that also? Feels like the devs can do anything :D
@BSMPod Well, F-Zero X: Expansion Kit is beyond 64MB I believe as it is a N64DD expansion and that game can run on the Everdrive. Perhaps this mod can go beyond 64MB since the Everdrive can go beyond that limit.

Especially considering that they were planned at some point for the original Smash, but ultimately in the end, they just stuck with Fox. It's nice re-imagining of that idea and bringing it to life!
Smash Remix is without a doubt my favorite Rom Hack of all time, it provides the hype of new releases while still evoking the same nostalgia and excitement i would've felt seeing these characters in the game as a kid.
Now if only someone...... Anyone (I don't care who) could just add Krystal as a playable fighter. It shouldn't be too hard to put Krystal in Remix since her game, Dinosuar Planet (Star Fox Adventures) was supposed to come out on N64!!! Please Smash Remix team!!! I beg of you!!!! Throw in Krystal and just do what Sakurai couldn't do.

I am one of the many Japanese I am one of the Goemon fans. Due to KONAMI's circumstances, the staff is gone, they can no longer produce new games, and the original 64 game that this Goemon is based on is in desperate need of a port. So I couldn't help but cry to see it in this form. The motion and everything was so well done, And the arrangement of the BGM is really wonderful. I appreciate it very much.
Speaking of Konami I still hope that Bomberman, Solid Snake (Please give him some guns and new Codec Calls), and Simon Belmont are included in Remix! That plus give me a Silent Hill stage based on Silent Hill 1 on PS1 That plus throw in some Contra and Frogger (Maybe make some stages based on those games) representation!

Incredible! Goemon was always my secret desire for Smash 64; so seeing this is like a dream come true. I hope the music is on point as Mystical Ninja on N64 has some of the best music on the system. Love seeing Peppy and Slippy run like the StarFox64 credits. Details are joyous to N64 aficionados like myself. Fantastic work. This whole reveal was astounding. Keep up the great work. This mod is just unreal now.
That Slippi move-set needs some work... he's a tech nerd at the end of the day. His fighting-style should be VERY technology heavy, but I do like that bit of quirkiness they added with the fire recovery move.

I'm happy that they don't follow the "mainstream" characters but they add who really deserves, especially for third party characters. It's like a dream to have Conker, Marina and Goemon in a Smash game. And I also always wanted to see the Star Fox team reunited. Thank you 🎉
Marina was a character I didn't even know (I'm 17 so a bit out of my era) but I've come to love her because of remix. That's what smash is all about, in the end it's a party game and brings light and popularity on games and characters that aren't as talked about or well known by people who were born slightly later. all the releases have been really hype and I like the fact that they didn't just add mainstream characters
I hate the term "deserves" when it comes to people who should/shouldnt be in a fighter, but a good roster needs the 'literally who?' characters to really be something special. Marina and Goemon are sick choices and im happy they finally have a chance in Smash

@@AllDayDan Why does it matter? Not everyone is going to want the same characters as you, and if you want those characters in so bad, you can go make your own fangame. People are showing gratitude to a hardworking team for adding characters they wouldn't think would get this kind of love, and replying to people with "Why don't you want these more popular characters instead?" Is rude not just to the people you're replying to, but to the team putting their heart and soul into this project in the first place. There's a bunch of other fangames to check out if you really want to play as those characters so bad.

But ever since shiek/marth i feel like the quality has dropped off a cliff in character selection and quality. I’m trying to see this rom become ever more goated. Everyone knows those other characters would be way more hype to have in 64 from a broad stance of getting more people to play the game.

I recently played this game for the first time, and I couldn't believe what I saw! It's just so surreal. Seeing Sonic on the Nintendo 64 is something you'd only imagine in a parallel universe. I can't even find words to describe how epic this project is.
There was a Mystical Ninja stage also confirmed for the next Smash Bros. Crusade update. I don't know what caused this Goessance in the Smash fan project community, but I 100% support it

I never did get to play any of his games but I still remember I was always so curious about this ninja N64 game I saw screens of from a Nintendo Power magazine back in my childhood. The game was never around for me to play though. Glad Goemon fans are happy with this new update, he seems like a real neat character in this. :)

I'm just now getting into Smash Remix and am floored by all the work that's gone into this. You guys have breathed new life into Smash 64 significantly with all these additions. For me personally the whole Starfox crew AND having my main Wolf all playable is a treat. And the Wave Race 64 stage and music is lovely. The exact stage I would've wanted in the official games, too. Kudos to all that have worked on this. This is incredible stuff.
@@dylansmith5206As of Star Fox Command, Fox broke up with Krystal and she was never seen again. Good thing that Slippy married Amanda and had 6 beautiful children. Ten years later Peppy Hare got back after removing Krystal from the team.
That plus we need to see Pokey/Porky. Just so we can have more villain characters. That plus throw in some Mother 3 characters like Kumatora, The Masked Man, Boney, ect.....
the problem there is Ness already has Poo and especially Paula's moves instead of his own (because shielding and healing and junk wouldn't be great in a fighting game) it's funny, I bet Sakurai-tachi wouldn't have been quite so keen on doing that had Ness been made by someone other than HAL

Slippy and Peppy is pretty wild. Sakurais original dream for smash 64 is pretty much complete now. If you didnt know the whole star fox crew was supposed to be alt colors for Fox but they didnt have enough time.

@@brianodonnell4496 good choice, he is already in akaneia build (melee expansion) if it interest you as a backport. But I feel like if we are taking into consideración is DK64 the best cadidate is Lanky Kong to not just repeat what is on ultimate and be more creative.

Yeah, like how it took 6 months for version 1.3.0 to release because we got 2 characters that update. So hopefully we get 2 characters again next update.

As for Trophies, thaaat might be a big stretch considering how many were made, I honestly see that being last, like after they've included all Smash characters and include many from the other old n64 games. Yea, I'm not happy with Ultimate, there is SO much missing. Trophies, board the platforms, break the targets, and race to the finish.

This update is so cool, I don’t even know who goemon is but he has a pretty sick design to him and he plays pretty interestingly as well. The new stages and other updates also look quite satisfying as well. Seeing a lot of these newer characters done in the N64 smash art style makes me feel a bit nostalgia. It was especially cool to see peppy and slippy appear at the end as well. I hope y’all keep working on this project and add more new characters and take your time on it as well.

@@josiahmerolaI believe that was just the results from a fan poll. The only truly confirmed planned characters that were scrapped were Bowser, Dedede, Marth, and Mewtwo, with the initial idea of Fox's alt costumes being Falco, Peppy, and Slippy

Incredible! Goemon was always my secret desire for Smash 64; so seeing this is like a dream come true. I hope the music is on point as Mystical Ninja on N64 has some of the best music on the system. Love seeing Peppy and Slippy run like the StarFox64 credits. Details are joyous to N64 aficionados like myself. Fantastic work. This whole reveal was astounding. Keep up the great work. This mod is just unreal now.
That Slippi move-set needs some work... he's a tech nerd at the end of the day. His fighting-style should be VERY technology heavy, but I do like that bit of quirkiness they added with the fire recovery move.

I'm happy that they don't follow the "mainstream" characters but they add who really deserves, especially for third party characters. It's like a dream to have Conker, Marina and Goemon in a Smash game. And I also always wanted to see the Star Fox team reunited. Thank you 🎉
Marina was a character I didn't even know (I'm 17 so a bit out of my era) but I've come to love her because of remix. That's what smash is all about, in the end it's a party game and brings light and popularity on games and characters that aren't as talked about or well known by people who were born slightly later. all the releases have been really hype and I like the fact that they didn't just add mainstream characters
I hate the term "deserves" when it comes to people who should/shouldnt be in a fighter, but a good roster needs the 'literally who?' characters to really be something special. Marina and Goemon are sick choices and im happy they finally have a chance in Smash

@@AllDayDan Why does it matter? Not everyone is going to want the same characters as you, and if you want those characters in so bad, you can go make your own fangame. People are showing gratitude to a hardworking team for adding characters they wouldn't think would get this kind of love, and replying to people with "Why don't you want these more popular characters instead?" Is rude not just to the people you're replying to, but to the team putting their heart and soul into this project in the first place. There's a bunch of other fangames to check out if you really want to play as those characters so bad.

But ever since shiek/marth i feel like the quality has dropped off a cliff in character selection and quality. I’m trying to see this rom become ever more goated. Everyone knows those other characters would be way more hype to have in 64 from a broad stance of getting more people to play the game.

Goessance has gone on a while now, and by current look of things, it's not going to stop! 🤩
I never did get to play any of his games but I still remember I was always so curious about this ninja N64 game I saw screens of from a Nintendo Power magazine back in my childhood. The game was never around for me to play though.

I'm just now getting into Smash Remix and am floored by all the work that's gone into this. You guys have breathed new life into Smash 64 significantly with all these additions. For me personally the whole Starfox crew AND having my main Wolf all playable is a treat. And the Wave Race 64 stage and music is lovely. The exact stage I would've wanted in the official games, too.
Kudos to all that have worked on this. This is incredible stuff.

An option for Marina to do her iconic "Shake! Shake!" as the default sound would also be greatly appreciated! This could also be an option for the other characters with secret sound clips as well. If you really love us you would do it

The next update be a big must one since its been five months, and if I had to take a wild guess, Ryu/Ken and Charizard will be the next to be revealed.
Yeah, like how it took 6 months for version 1.3.0 to release because we got 2 characters that update. So hopefully we get 2 characters again next update.

As for Trophies, thaaat might be a big stretch considering how many were made, I honestly see that being last, like after they've included all Smash characters and include many from the other old n64 games. Yea, I'm not happy with Ultimate, there is SO much missing. Trophies, board the platforms, break the targets, and race to the finish.

I've never seen this mod before but that reveal trailer for Goemon had me very hyped. This update is so cool, I don’t even know who goemon is but he has a pretty sick design to him and he plays pretty interestingly as well. The new stages and other updates also look quite satisfying as well. Seeing a lot of these newer characters done in the N64 smash art style makes me feel a bit nostalgia. It was especially cool to see peppy and slippy appear at the end as well. I hope y’all keep working on this project and add more new characters and take your time on it as well.

Goemon should have always been an actual Smash reveal, the character, the locations, the music… all makes perfect sense.
