This is a ROM hack, no? Because if so, Nintendo can't do anything about it, just don't distribute the ROM already patched, just the IPS, then people just have to patch it themselves with a ROM they have obtained (dw guys that's super easy, just 3 steps, obtain the ROM [DEFINITELY legally, yes yes], download an ROM patcher [IPS one on pc or just a ROM patcher on mobile], patch the ROM) Edit: oh I see this is online, well as long as you need ROMS to make it work then they could also escape legal trouble

Can we take a moment to appreciate that in the Banjo reveal portion, each character is playing an instrument they have been shown to canonically play in official media somewhere. That's a really nice touch.
Assuming this is the end of the major updates, that was a really, really cool way to cap it all off. The quality of this mod is astounding, it was great to see it evolve from the start back when we just had moveset clones. Thank you for everything, Smash Remix team!

Honestly Nintendo should bring them in for the next Smash. They always have an “obscure throwback” character. Game and watch in Melee, ROB in Brawl, Duckhunt in Wii U/3DS, Piranha Plant (?) in Ultimate, Dragon King in Smash 6.

I can’t believe I just found this project it’s a freaking dream come true. I love how closely it sticks to the N64 style!! So many other mods try to give old games a total graphics overhaul, and I think that totally misses the point of a mod. Which is, to me, creating content that might’ve been if technology had frozen in this amazing era of video games
This mod continues to feel like a fever dream from my youth. I'm always impressed with just how much the team manages to pack into each update. Adding the Dragon King fighter from the prototype of Smash 64 was a genius idea.
I totally agree man, considering that I've played so, SO much of Smash Bros. 64 on both the original consoles and emulator so dang much, that seeing this expansion feels like as if I'm never going to be able to get through EVERY SINGLE THING this expansion pak patch offers (considering I haven't played Smash Remix in nearly two years now since 2022 and it has grown A TON). Still though, hopefully, at some point this year I check it out and play it for a bit, and enjoy the amount of chaos, laughter, and fun you can get out of it (Believe me, Smash Remix is just as funny and hilarious/chaotic to watch as Super Smash Bros. Melee's modded version of the game).

I know there are like a thousand comments, but if any of the devs see this, thank you so much for pouring so much love and endthusiasm into this game. It has a unique place in smash history mechanically, and this project has taken that and realized its full potential.
This is my dream game that actually goes further than I couldn't ever expect. I love every Smash game, but all these years later and the first one still lives in a special place in my heart. It makes me so happy that there are people that care this much still about this game and put all this work in to amazing results! Thank you so much!!
The inclusion of Dragon King at the end was such a great twist! I genuinely appreciate how much care has gone into this project. Smash Remix is easily my favorite way to play Smash 64. 😁
@@hypernova_119Why I don’t hate Sora’s inclusion in Ultimate, Dragon King as a dlc character would be a crazy deep cut reference to Smash’s beta and a cool full circle moment, albeit confusing and possibly upsetting to those who don’t know or care about the Series’ conception.
The way I got stupidly hype at the intro of this video thinking it was Takamaru completely forgetting that there's another "-maru" that fits just as well here. What a great project y'all have produced here!
It was quite a ride. But what if they surprisingly put Shantae in there and do what Nintendo could not and make her a playable fighter! They gave 64 models to those who didn't have them so I don't doubt their ability to do so someday.

You made the 5 year old me from 1999 very happy. This is a full circle moment for me and is everything that little boy always dreamt of. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.
It made 12 year old me happy too. I always strongly believed that one day this game would get more characters and expand because the original always left me wanting so much more. I would draw characters and come up with move sets and stages and everything in between. When they added Bowser, Mewtwo, Dedede, and Ganondorf, I was in awe. This is my dream of what I wanted Smash 64 to be. It's a dream come true. Now Banjo Kazooie is in here. Just perfect, can't believe it.

This was wonderful!!! Ebisumaru! The full instruments gang for Banjo and Kazooie! The remix of the Happy Together song remembering the SM64 tv commercial made me tear a little, and Dragon King returning to this reality in which it only really existed as a beta concept. Magnifique✨️ ❤.

Okay so that start wasn't received well but am all for Goemon's buddy and of course we got those 2. That little montage and use of that one song really struck home for me and that surprise at the end was unexpected yet stellar. Great work as always remix team.

That inclusion of the snowboard kids music and stage gets me excited and hoping for a snowboard kids rep in the future for smash remix. Great update as always and the dragon king character is probably one of the coolest things ever.
Excellent work again you guys. From trailer to game play this mod has always found its way to amaze me. If you guys do continue to add more characters to the roster it would be cool to see the j-bomb robot from blast corp. But if this is the last update, I'm still very much pleased with how this mod turned out over the years and what it came to be now.

🤦🏾You guys are BOSS for this smh. That PERFECT sequence and musical reference to the old North American Smash Bros commercial at 8:50 is so epic that it gives me goosebumps. Chef's kiss. BRAVO. Might you take a humble request and add just a few more excharacters: Shante, Skull Kid, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and maybe Dr. robotnik aka Eggman. They'd be PERFECT for this. A cool level idea would be to add the tilting arena from Bowser in the land of fire, like it would tilt everytime someone lands on the ground too hard or something. Sorry if i'm asking to much but adding all of this would only make a mostly perfect game even more perfect. Either way, you guys ROCK.👌🏾

One of the best Smash mods I’ve ever had the pleasure of following. Ebisumaru’s moveset is amazing, and obviously the roster wouldn’t be complete without Banjo! That “Happy Together” montage really cemented it as a love letter for the N64, referencing that infamous commercial while also being a great song to play over all the other trailers before one final surprise… The Dragon King himself! The Risky Boots theme during the presentation made me think both she and Shantae would be playable in this update. Lol! Maybe it's a hint in the future. Lol! Great presentation.
Wow, it makes sense, right? But I hope that only Shantae is playable to give space to the other characters, Risky boots may appear, I don't know, later on.
I'm not a competitive player and never have been. I've kept at arms' length from the Smash modding community. But this popped up on my recommended, and I'm glad it did - I can feel the love that went into this. The 8-bit rendition of Happy Together was touching and just all the little things that, not being big on competitive lore but Smash lore and the individual series that everyone comes from, just...damn.

A modder might make one tho, like the person who's making MvC Spider-Man a fighter! And tbch, I'm hoping someone does the same for MK's Scorpion since MK4 was on the N64.
I love this style of cutscene. It really adds a great amount of personality without having to break the bank in terms of animations. The updates you've included are beyond incredible and are the stuff of dreams! Incredibly well done!

I've played smash 64 since day 1. Through out the years of games and tech evolving, I've always never could get the same joy I did with smash 64. The fact that you guys literally keep adding all these ideas and features to this just brings me more joy then anything modern day gaming brings to the table. it did feel like a final update with "So Happy Together", but then i remembered how the 1.1 update felt very final with the credits and here we are. i think think they can continue adding characters, but game features they are seriously packing to the brim it's almost overwhelming.
Same here. I was overthrilled with joy seeing him. I would have pissed myself and die if they included Sasuke and Yae as well. I was kind of expecting that after seeing Ebisumaru.

I can’t believe I just found this project it’s a freaking dream come true. I love how closely it sticks to the N64 style!! So many other mods try to give old games a total graphics overhaul, and I think that totally misses the point of a mod. Which is, to me, creating content that might’ve been if technology had frozen in this amazing era of video games
This mod continues to feel like a fever dream from my youth. I'm always impressed with just how much the team manages to pack into each update. Adding the Dragon King fighter from the prototype of Smash 64 was a genius idea.

I totally agree man, considering that I've played so, SO much of Smash Bros. 64 on both the original consoles and emulator so dang much, that seeing this expansion feels like as if I'm never going to be able to get through EVERY SINGLE THING this expansion pak patch offers (considering I haven't played Smash Remix in nearly two years now since 2022 and it has grown A TON). Still though, hopefully, at some point this year I check it out and play it for a bit, and enjoy the amount of chaos, laughter, and fun you can get out of it (Believe me, Smash Remix is just as funny and hilarious/chaotic to watch as Super Smash Bros. Melee's modded version of the game).

It was quite a ride. But what if they surprisingly put Shantae in there and do what Nintendo could not and make her a playable fighter! They gave 64 models to those who didn't have them so I don't doubt their ability to do so someday.

I was 5 years from the 90s.
It made 12 year old me happy too. I always strongly believed that one day this game would get more characters and expand because the original always left me wanting so much more. I would draw characters and come up with move sets and stages and everything in between. When they added Bowser, Mewtwo, Dedede, and Ganondorf, I was in awe. This is my dream of what I wanted Smash 64 to be. It's a dream come true. Now Banjo Kazooie is in here. Just perfect, can't believe it.

This was wonderful!!! Ebisumaru! The full instruments gang for Banjo and Kazooie! The remix of the Happy Together song remembering the SM64 tv commercial made me tear a little, and Dragon King returning to this reality in which it only really existed as a beta concept. Magnifique✨️ ❤.

That inclusion of the snowboard kids music and stage gets me excited and hoping for a snowboard kids rep in the future for smash remix. Great update as always and the dragon king character is probably one of the coolest things ever.
Excellent work again you guys. From trailer to game play this mod has always found its way to amaze me. If you guys do continue to add more characters to the roster it would be cool to see the j-bomb robot from blast corp. But if this is the last update, I'm still very much pleased with how this mod turned out over the years and what it came to be now.

🤦🏾You guys are BOSS for this smh. That PERFECT sequence and musical reference to the old North American Smash Bros commercial at 8:50 is so epic that it gives me goosebumps. Chef's kiss. BRAVO. Might you take a humble request and add just a few more excharacters: Shante, Skull Kid, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and maybe Dr. robotnik aka Eggman. They'd be PERFECT for this. A cool level idea would be to add the tilting arena from Bowser in the land of fire, like it would tilt everytime someone lands on the ground too hard or something. Sorry if i'm asking to much but adding all of this would only make a mostly perfect game even more perfect. Either way, you guys ROCK.👌🏾
It's honestly unreal how far this project has come in the past few years. I've been there from the start, and the things you all have achieved in this mod are truly fantastic, and will surely be played and remembered for *years*. It deserves to be praised and highlighted for so many things. I mean, you have Banjo & Kazooie, Conker, Mischief Makers, Goemon, and so much more thrown in. It truly is a remix in all the best ways. One of the best Smash mods I’ve ever had the pleasure of following. Ebisumaru’s moveset is amazing, and obviously the roster wouldn’t be complete without Banjo! That “Happy Together” montage really cemented it as a love letter for the N64, referencing that infamous commercial while also being a great song to play over all the other trailers before one final surprise… The Dragon King himself!

I'm not a competitive player and never have been. I've kept at arms' length from the Smash modding community. But this popped up on my recommended, and I'm glad it did - I can feel the love that went into this. The 8-bit rendition of Happy Together was touching and just all the little things that, not being big on competitive lore but Smash lore and the individual series that everyone comes from, just...damn.

I've played smash 64 since day 1. Through out the years of games and tech evolving, I've always never could get the same joy I did with smash 64. The fact that you guys literally keep adding all these ideas and features to this just brings me more joy then anything modern day gaming brings to the table. it did feel like a final update with "So Happy Together", but then i remembered how the 1.1 update felt very final with the credits and here we are. i think think they can continue adding characters, but game features they are seriously packing to the brim it's almost overwhelming.
