Despite knowing all this, I still appreciate the format and the way you laid this out/presented all the steps (map location and guide etc). Best type of video on this subject I’ve seen since day 1
Another tip for people just starting: Start off as a thief or mage etc, when you get to the first Inn and get your main pawn, switch vocations (you’ll have gathered enough from the 6 goblins on the main trail) to fighter at that time. You’ll get all starting armor for free
Bro just got a new sub I bought this game out of curiosity never played the first I'm a huge elden ring fan and heard the world was amazing which is one of the main reasons I got it I've been playing it and it's been okay just trying to figure things out but this video showing how many secrets are hidden in this world in cool items actually reminds me of the same thing and I got to say it's making me fall in love with the game and I can't wait to explore every little corner of it now thank you for this video man
You said "Checkpoint Rest Town" so many times I don't think I'll ever forget it xD But I just wanna say to be careful with where you throw the poison barrel for Lennart's quest, and not just because of the river. You really gotta hit the nest perfectly, at least for me. I threw it and it looked like it was right in the middle but for some reason it told me I failed the quest. Luckily I had backup saves so I was able to try it again and it worked fine after I moved my aim slightly. The spot I threw it was from the other side where you pick up the barrel (threw it over the river), so it may just be safer to do it exactly as shown in the vid: walk over the bridge and chuck it down into the nest. Anyways, excellent guide. I'll probably be maining Spearhand but I plan to play all the different classes. Started with Fighter and really am enjoying it. Following this will get me some goodies for Spearhand as well, so this is awesome for me.
This is an amazing video the amount of detail and the explanation is amazing thank you so much from someone starting this game and couldn’t even find the vocation guild
In the ancient battleground, you can use the balista on top of the battlements to if lucky one shot the dragon. It was sleeping when I found it and I got a head shot.
@@jake9854 I’m not sure why it matters that I’m a girl, but my vocation (class) was the Fighter. I can confirm that the only vocation this clipping bug happens on is the Fighter.
The Fighter from the first game was OODLES better imo... the griphon strike (I think that was the name) was an airborne assault that obliterated anything that dare hover over you and just gave you such an OP vibe.
does anyone know a site where I can see a full character creation for a fighter. Like how tall and bulky they should be, where I can see all the stat numbers for body creation??
Which is better for my tank pawn? Ring of Disfavor and Constancy or Ring of Resolution and Provocation? Would my pawn even need Shield drum or Bellow with the aggro ring and augment?
Ring of disfavor and bellow/ drum. I keep drum or bellow on my pawn incase my sorc or archer starts to draw aggro by doing damage. But i dont see why you couldnt get away with just using something else. If you notice your pawn losing it too often just slap the skill on at a camp.
I feel springboard is awful on a pawn unless you are really struggling to get to a high location, which is usually overcome simply by using a mage or sorc weapon to levitate yourself. Primarily it's how stupid the AI is when it comes to springboard in combat. It'll crouch down until someone decides to use it, either yourself or another pawn, and it'll refuse to do anything else until that happens. So if you are relying on that fighter pawn to hold agro or do damage, it won't, and to makes matters worse, it'll choose to use it when there are no tall monsters to jump on anyway! IMO a wasted slot on a pawn( player skill is completely different matter as the AI pawns seem tuned to be launched up by the player). IN a way the pan uses the skill to dictates to you how to play rather you tell your pawn what to do. Really dumb Ai when it comes to launchboard. There are use cases where it is great but they are few and far between compared to the stupid AI decisions it makes regarding the skill
The fighter is a shell of what it was in the original Dragons Dogma. Skyward strikes was better at hitting airborne enemies, the skewer skill was way better as it wasnt initiated by jumping first so it wouldnt miss you could do it while standing, and dragons maw was a way better ultimate skill it would easily erase 2-3 healthbars in one use. Also you had 3 sword/mace skills and 3 shield skills to assign. Oppose to having just 4 total in this game, no idea why they reduced that. Fighters damage in this game is poor compared to every other class minus the trickster
Yep I'm with you 100% and even the perfect parries don't feel as good as they used to either. Also feels like you just get abso staggered to death and the only way out is either your pawns or the new silly shield spin.
I've tried everything to make fighter work literally everything and it is probably one of the worst vocations along side trickster. I wonder if they will ever give fighter a buff most likely not but here's hoping..
@@fckoff3203 I get that and I won't lie from DD1 to 2 Fighter definitely feels like it got pushed into the support/tank role especially with the reduction of enchanted weapons. Sometimes the class just isn't for you it happens.
@@fckoff3203 What helped me out with fighter in 2 was to kind of play it like Mystic Knight from DD1 just slow down get my counters in, move around get a nice weak spot hit here and there, block some random bull and go ham once a stagger window opens up. You got this!
It's too hard getting to the ancient battleground i try to run but 1 of my pawns die or i die the rock monsters are to fast they roll and they keep killing me can anyone give me a tip please i tried this 6 times i keep dying 😭
Cloudward slash is overated imo, you can easily kill and/or knock down harpies and the likes using vengeful slash... vengeful slash is the skill I use the most of the fighter, the more you hold the more powerful your slash will be and knock down big foes. This is extremely strong even againts flying foes and group of ennemies. It also offert a perfect block. Shield pommel being my second favorite because I love getting rid of ennemies like that or againt knocking them down and gives you time and opportunity to hit the right spot and finish your ennemies. Next I would say gouging skewer, its really good, only if you get the opportunity to get quick on their weak spots, which does not make this skill the best for the fighter style gameplay imo... Thats why I always choose vengeful slash that will deal max damage and knock down, and then use gouging skewer. Finally I use also the maester ability, very strong and stylish, but it has a hugh downside and it is that you move a lot and can easily miss the target making it not very useful, but when you do, it is efficient. You can also be knocked down during the maester ability which is another downside of it, compare to lets say Vengeful Slash that never fails and is just like a wrath. For ppl thinking yeah, but ennemies needs to attack first... well thats not a problem, and should also be your tactic as a ''figther'' anyway. Vengeful slash is also a very quick set skill, just like if you raise your shield to defend yourself, it does not have a long prep at all, making it useful either on close proximity with limited time and also for a a longer wait (approach), waiting for the ennemy attack... I personnaly dont like to use the maester skill for fighter because it has to much downside and yes its strong but not consistent and also, not that strong after all. I prefer burst strike to give me easy one shot kill with goblins and hobgoblins, also a good way to getting close fast of your ennemies and also lock on them... -Burst strike -Shield pommel -Vengeful SLash -gouging skewer That is my set up and I can kill ennemies super fast with that... Also all of those skills, dont have a real uncontrolled downside like the maester's skill and the Cloudward slash (you can easily miss flying ennemies I found).
Even though fighter is kinda weak it’s still enjoyable playing him I have hope that they will buff him in the future because they are underwhelming and for a TANK class you sure do get staggered a lot
@@TrayGoldenyes but it doesn't help much trust me I've been testing a lot of things with fighter and its pretty sad this vocation is so damn weak because it was my favorite..
God I hate how nonsensical the Marcher's set is. LITERALLY some of the finest looking armor in the game, YET is SOMEHOW weaker than ALL of the leather based gear? Like... the F??
It's why it's weird they didn't add augmenting any weapon as much as we want I like keeping my starter gear and just going in without perks, just skill. That's what I liked about Skyrim, you could make a steel sword hit beyond its base damage through enchantments and smithing, I love using the enchanting glitch to get higher percentages than normal base-game would allow. So with an over powered smithing enchantment to improve your smithing ability, you could make level 1 weapons, into 1 hit weapons... Many made OP gear, I did. But I loved to use it to only get slightly higher percentages than allowed by the game but not game breaking, that way low level gear could compete in end game and against high level enemies etc. Good times Skyrim, been itching to play but don't have time to deal with mod management and then testing that the mods work
