    Bruce Lee has been in more real street fight than any of these guys. That was one of the reason he started training in martial art, to protect himself. That was why he train to fight for real, and not tournament or sport.

      What you're seeing is one of Bruce Lee's students saying their teacher (Bruce Lee) was the best. In those days anyone who actually trained with real masters from Asia had a huge advantage over any American martial artist. This was before the days where the martial arts were opened to the west. In fact BL was one that they sent out to open the east to the west. You can't believe what anyone who worked with or trained with BL said because they were his students or paid to make BL look good. It's the same today, to some degree, masters who have studied with real legit grand masters in China/Japan are way more advanced than even the top MMA fighters and dojo owners in the USA. There is a big difference. But everything I've seen is praise from BL's students who were enamored with him and were his students. Just my take on things.

      @@VenturaIT I’m so conflicted! Haha. On the one hand I completely agree with what you are saying about Lee’s students and close friends. They are motivated to exaggerate their teachers abilities and motivated to perpetuate the legend of Bruce Lee. Even if they’re not outright lying, they are spinning things to make Lee look more amazing than he actually was.
      On the other hand I can’t at all agree with what you are saying about Asian masters. Xu Xiaodong, a Chinese mma fighter and instructor has practically made a career out of beating Chinese kung fu masters in challenge matches. You can’t possible think there is some wizened old master in China or Japan somewhere that could beat top mma fighters. That nonsense only happens in anime and has never once happened in real life. Hoping I misunderstood you, but I mean, come on man.

To me, it seems like Bruce beat him, was the better fighter, and Chuck just never could accept it. I agree. I had an uncle who trained with both. He was the light skinned freckled face gentleman with the afro. Not Jim Kelly but the bigger stout guy often seen speaking of Bruce's old accomplishments. He witnessed Norris accidentally strike Lee one 🕐 and stated that Norris regretted that for the next 2 hrs left of their session of sparring. He said Bruce became cat like in perfect rhythm and overall coordination making chuck legitimately confused as to what is really occuring because Bruce Lee was like a bottle 🍾 of lightning ⚡🌩️ essentially. He was humble with Bruce forever there after according to my uncle. Bruce ultimately humbled chuck making him appear to be a much lesser opponent for him basically. The thing is that Lee actually sparred very little by some accounts. Norris has alternated between saying they never sparred and saying they sparred but never really fought. I take that to mean, they only did short, light type of sparring to work on technique, but it wasn’t competitive. That type of drilling fits with what Lewis said. He said Lee preferred to drill and that he “never saw him spar any of the top guys.”
      It’s telling that, for a guy who loved to film himself, we have no footage of him competitively sparring with anyone. Closest we get is that footage from his Long Beach demo where he spars against a student. But that was pretty clearly not a competitive match, and was done so that Lee could show off his technique. It was, after all, a demonstration.

      Correct but the majority of people said it was a rather prolong fight that ended in a draw. The majority also said Bruce initially went to the eyes as a cheap shot which was surprising given that they were both instructors. That’s a terrible example for students.
      A small sample on Bruce’s side said the fight was over in one minute? . Which do you think is more accurate? the more likely scenario is that the fight was prolonged and a draw. Why would the people on Wongs side say that if it didn’t happen? Rather they would say Wong won in 2 minutes. It’s more likely than not the reports from Wang side as well as other neutral observers were more accurate than Linda’s. It’s also more accurate given the skill level of Wong that was known in the community as well as Bruce’s, a prolong conservative defensive fight Is much more probable

    My friend Lonny, a lifelong martial artist who was big in the scene in the 80s, was privy to some of their sparring sessions. He said Chuck was virtually a human punching bag- and that nobody wanted to spar Bruce because his pulled punches still hurt too much. It's obvious from footage that Bruce is easily 100% faster, so I have no reason to doubt it. There's footage of his spandex shorts stretching when he kicks and rebounding. That kind of speed with 2 finger pushups... He was a mutant and no else had that kind of physical power, not even Chuck.

    I have been a Bruce Lee fan since the summer of 1973. The only question I ever had after reading books and magazines on Bruce Lee was why didn't Lee ever compete. Lee trained with Chuck Norris, Joe Lewis, Mike stone, exhibitions.Fighting in the ring is very different from both. It's like Stallone not being a real boxer

    • @davidt1239
      @davidt1239 5 років тому +1

      My answer is, would you rather fight or make movies? Me personally? Movies, fighters fight to make money, not just for fun. Why Stallone didn't write a book? Why don't boxer come to Stallone to get pointers, but martial artist come to BL's house to get pointers and train. I believe Stallone has had fighters come to his house and train, but he paid them to come. Not to my knowledge, but I don't think Stallone ever went to a gym and challenged top boxers. I'm not being bias here just saying what I heard and know.
      I think 99% of fighters are either born in a fighting fam, they came up poor and thats all they know, or they have no where to go and thats the fastest way to make money and some became great. That's one of my biggest reason to fight in a ring.

    I was fortunate to have a personal encounter with Bruce at his home in Los Angeles in 1971. Man, I have never seen anyone so fast in my life. He toyed with me like I was a five year old(I was 24 and reasonably trained). At the end I asked him how would he compare himself to Ali as a fighter. He told me he could not withstand a punch by Ali but by the same token, Ali could not survive one of his kicks. It was hard to set the fighting rules in a match between them.
    A few years after Bruce passed away, Ali fought with the Japanese judo champion whose name I don’t recall. We all know what happened;
    The Japanese refused to engage and sat on the floor throughout the fight. Ali couldn’t successfully punch down and risk being tangled up by the judo champ. The boring event ended up in a meaningless draw.

From Joe Lewis own words, Bruce Lee first approached him when he was going to his car, and Joe described the experience as going in one ear and out the other. It wasn't until he was sparring with Bob Wallace, that he noticed a major difference in Bob's form and style. Chuck Noris makes a point of saying he met Bruce in 1968 after he won the world championship. When asked if he and Bruce Lee sparred, Chuck Noris says “No” because he is a professional and Bruce was not; so they hit and kicked bags. Chuck was a professional in that he won the non-contact karate championship; Bruce was a full contact, real world, fighter. He used to compare non-contact matches as “shadow boxing”. He had no use for the idea of scoring imaginary points, based on “I could have hit you, and if I had It would have done this much damage.”
    In the second portion he’s asked what workouts they did; Chuck says “We sparred”. In a different interview he says he taught Bruce Lee to kick above the waist; but Wing Chun uses kicks to the head and upper body, so that’s not true. All these comments taken separately can be dismissed. But together they sound like an insecure ego laking advantage of a man who would have taken him apart when he was alive; but now that he can’t speak, he feels free to say anything that will make himself look better than he was in the real world. It’s a small man that does this.

      Bruce Lee was the best inspiration. Not just a fighter. A feather weight could match his style but not his speed. The point to this video is if they fought, not about who is better. That didn't matter to Bruce. If Bruce was bested he studied, took what he studied and put it in his style to his liking. And when he bested his opponent, he took the opportunity to teach them everything he knew, FOR FREE. When Bruce fought Chuck he was still studying and looking for new style to MIX in his martial arts. Bringing it to a whole new level, giving it a new "attack while defending" edge that he uses swiftly.

      But in the streets, you fight against 99% of ignorant thugs, in the ring, even with rules, you fight against a guy who live to give and take blows all day long, who works out his body to make it an armor... a couple of basic self-defense move are enough to take down 99% of the guys who aren't good enough to prove themselve on a ring, so they go assault people in the street...
      Make me laugh and tell me in his "gang street fight" Lee ever fought a guy who was as dangerous as a Chuck's or Lewis's fart... this just never happened.

    Thankfully, they gleaned so much from each other. The families ended up living not far from each other in Los Angeles, and kept in touch for years after Bruce’s death. Shannon Lee is really keeping the legacy alive, along with her mother. Keanu Reaves recently helped Shannon on a project “So You Think You Know Kung Fu”. Chuck has managed to stay current, and obtained his black belt in jiujitsu. I’m amazed he is nearly 80 years old!

    Bruce isn’t just an actor. He is also a Master of Kung Fu and the founder of Jeet Kune Do. Chuck Norris won the Karate Championship but still is not on the same level of the Legend Bruce Lee. It’s like comparing a Corvette to a Lamborghini. Bruce is too skilled and too fast and could probably destroy Chuck Norris whenever he wanted

    • @Ricotet4
      @Ricotet4 2 роки тому

      @Chatsworth Osborne, Jr. It doesn't matter how many championships Chuck won, that doesn't make him superior to Bruce. Bruce probably chose not to contest in those competitions because he felt he was above that. He created a fighting form Jeet Kune Do. What fighting method did Chuck create? Bruce was regarded on the level of a master. His real fights were behind closed doors. All the many close associates who testified to his greatness cannot all be lairs. People's egos wouldn't make them concede that Bruce was extraordinary. Chuck wasn't like that until after his friend died.

He said that Chuck Norris was always bugging Bruce Lee saying things like I'm the world champ,,,I can beat you,your not that good,,,,and on and on and on Chuck went. So one day Bruce had enough and he said to Chuck ok let's get off the set and we will see. So they walked off the set and had a fight. It took about 7 - 8 seconds and the fight was over. Chuck Norris got his Ass Kicked by Bruce Lee.

The next morning, he woke up and asked his wife, "Did I meet Chuck Norris last night?" and she said, "Oh, you did more than meet him. You tried to start a fight with him. And, he was pretty nice about it." So, we added that level of drunkness, and came up with the five levels of drunkeness. 1. Good looking, 2. Charming, 3. Obnoxious, 4. Bulletproof, 5. Tries to start a fight with Chuck Norris.

    Simple logic:
    When a student/disciple wants to learn, he seeks and goes to the teacher's place to learn from him, not the other way around. And the student (chuck) trained for 2 yrs, that a full course. Meaning, if he hadn't much to learn from someone, he wouldve probably only spent 6 months, being that chuck was already a master. But he underwent 2 yrs of training at Bruce's back yard. That tells ya the big gap between Bruce and Chuck. And by that logic, Bruce and chuck must've already sparred turning into chuck's defeat and accepting Bruce as a superior fighter he asked him to be his master.
    Chuck is the most ungrateful student a master could've had, and he had the best master. Denying his master, shame on you chuck :v
