The difference between Actors and fighters, is actors act to fight, fighters fight to act.

I was born in 1972 and starting with Bruce Lee, I've been following martial arts my entire life. Today is the first time that I've heard the name Frank Dux. I will also say that throughout this video, I did not see any stance or motion from Dux that would suggest that he even knows how to produce any real power with a strike and he even seems to lack stability. I especially enjoyed from 12:05 - 12:15 where he's blindfolded and points his head towards the ceiling so he can look under the blindfold to see his next attacker. He's Legit!

Plus they’re cracked out of their brains, so they don’t have normal reasoning and thought patterns going on.

i like steven seagal earlier movies
      i enjoyed the 1988-1995 era.
Steven Seagal left sylvester stallone house when jean claude van damme confronted him.
I dont blame steven seagal for walking away that day because in that time when that happened van damme was known for being a crazy addict he used that stuff 24/7.
That stuff gives you a huge advantage in fights there is a reason why ufc fighters are getting tested regularly.
And you should not believe in everything that Steven seagal says.
80% that comes out of him is a lie and he likes to pretend that he is a stone cold guy.
in that lawman show where steven seagal does patrol work he overheard few officers talking about the criminals that they about the arrest are possessing guns seagal reaction was funny as hell you see him legitimately getting shocked for hearing that.

The Glimmer man»)

I’m a brown belt in “Shin Shin Toitsu Aikdio which was created by Koichi Tohei who was Morihei Ueshiba’s number one student.
He later left Ueshiba dojo when O’Sensei died and his son Moriteru Ueshiba became the head (or Doshu) of the Dojo.
His (Tohei Sensei) school taught Aikido with Ki and was named “The Ki Society”
What Seagal practices is not genuine Aikido as Ueshiba developed it.
Seagal practices AikiJutsu which is a harder form as it involves more vicious techniques.
In Aikido you are taught to inflict just enough pain to complete the technique without doing damage. The techniques are the same but the intension and intensity of the practitioners are different.
I saw an interview with the late Scottish actor Sean Connery. Connery told a story about studying with Seagal in order to learn some techniques to use in his upcoming James Bond flick.
Connery explained that Seagal broke Connery’s wrist and left it permanently damaged.
While I respect Seagal’s skill I’ve grown to dislike him as a bully.
I saw all his early movies before he became a caricature of himself. He’s the reason I took up Aikido and I can tell you that Aikido saved me from severe injury when as a 53 year old I was attacked by a 30 something guy who was a lot bigger than me.
Honestly, the fight didn’t end well for the young attacker and I can tell you that it wasn’t the softer form of Aikido that I used to emerge the victor!
There were several strikes to the opponents face and a kick to his knee as well as two kicks to his groin.
What I can tell you for sure was the Aikido helped me move in a circular motion to elude his sucker punch, minimize the punch’s effect and to slow the fight down in my head and outthink him.
Aikido, has a lot to recommend it but I endorse adding striking (Atemi) arts to the grappling techniques.
I had also studied Ishin Ryu Karate as well as Kempo both of which enhanced my self defense skills when combined with Aikido.
I’ll be 73 in a few months and while I don’t want to get into any scrapes at my age, I feel like I know enough to still defend myself!

I completely agree with the assessment of the setup. My curiosity is more about Frank's claim about being a Ninjutsu master being that the maximum height for a ninja is roughly around 5 to 5 and half feet. Ninja were not trained to be assassins. They were spies. The art form itself is a defensive art that is only utilized if you are discovered in the process of doing your job colleting intelligence. The physical size of the ninja had to be a smaller person to fit into the small crawl spaces that were all over buildings in old Japanese buildings. For Frank to claim he was trained as an assassin to me is just not in the spirit of the actual art form. I'll shut up now.

I trained at Frank Dux's dojo in North Hollywood back in 80s. Steven Seagal's dojo was in West Hollywood.
There was no beef between them. Dux had made problems with Benny the Jet Uriquidez and Stephen Hayes.
Both actually walked into Dux's dojo and confronted him. Dux claimed he beat Benny the Jet in a fight. Stephen Hayes didn't like that Dux was marketing his art as ninjitsu.
It wouldn't be until the 90s that Dux would make commemts about Seagal in interviews.
But, prior to that there was no rivalry.
Dux did teach a real martial art. It was japanese jujutsu with elements of karate, and military combatives.
He wanted to make money so he jumped on the ninja craze.

I know of a Karate Master back in the 70's who developed his own form of Wado Ki Karate. Mr. B as he was known as had worked out with the legends of Okinawan Karate in the 50's and 60's. Yet, the last known rank in Japan was 3rd degree. But, that was like 20 years prior to me training with him in 1971. The Gogu people of the time didn't believe him until he showed them up. That's the problem. There is no way to know about these guys unless someone digs up proof of their tournaments they won.

Frank Dux school is actually called Dux Ryu Ninjutsu, with a "U". It's his form of Ninjistsu. He said himself there's no such thing as Ninjas in the US, so I don't think Seagal was having a quip at Dux. As for the beef between them, Dux said he was offered a bag full of money to go hurt Seagal bad and it was over, as he believed, Seagal dating Kelly Le Brock while she was still married and he said he made a report about it and went and warned Seagal, as they had someone in common they knew in the intelligence community. That's what he said on Viking. He said they shook hands and he couldn't believe how huge Seagal's hands were and that Seagal was very interested to know who it was asking details and he had no problems with him. Dux disputes a lot of what Sheldon Lettich says.

On martial artists connecting/hurting stuntmen, there are interviews explaining that it is arranged. For example, Chuck Norris on Letterman states that his stuntmen were his training partners. Another example is Seagal stating that his students were used for a fight scene in Above the Law. Yet another example, SNL staff say that Seagal brought in his own stuntmen for a skit.
Of course, there are accidents, however. On the abovementioned Letterman show, Chuck says he accidentally knocked out his training partners. And Sean Connery on Leno, says that Seagal broke Connery's wrist during training.
So in summary, the bad rep that movie martial artist get for hurting stuntmen may be just due to accidents, not their being assholes.

I liked this vid. Very likable host and well paced. All I can say is I am a Seagal fan and practice Aikido. Film and real life is so different. The duck guy sems so questionable. But hey- I never met the man so live and let live. In the end, we have to look at ourselves and find peace with that.

Steven Seagal is signly responsible for bringing Jujitsu and Aikido to the world. I pick Steven Seagal, he has quite a bit of experience. Force and real contact in training makes a student better in real situations

Did nothing for Jujitsu. If he got on the ground he wouldn't be able to get up.

I love how the spar partners of segal get their fingers grabbed and somehow he transmits so much force that they flip off their feet.......super beliveable.

Steven Seagal looks more real than Dux definitely, he actually trained UFC fighters and they won with his teaching regardless if you like him or hate him he's skilled.

lol. As if these legendary, accomplished Karate, and UFC champions, did not already know how to throw a damn front kick. LMFAO. Silva even mocked Seagal's bullshit, it's on video.

@@James-qu6ul Listen I'm not a big fan of the guy he's boring arrogant, and full of himself and he and his movies are mocked but he has skills and accomplished something, you can't deny him that it's no big deal.

If Steven Seagal fought Frank Dux it would be like nuclear weapon going off when they come to blows which causes the world to explode

Great video Prince! I just have to be a nerd and make one correction. Tiger wasn’t a villain, he was a “ninja” that trained James Bond. 😂

The biggest thing I learned about fighting, is that if there are more than one opponent, you want to stay off the ground. Messes up your clothes and face.

These guys probably love it the more their talked-about the more they get to stay in the mainstream if no one said anything they would just fade away into obscurity

The less you know about your opponent... the more dangerous he is...and the more cautious you should be.
