At that time, for some reason, a back-to-back victory is being avoided.. I don’t know why.. But if they really wanted, it could have been a triple consecutive win for the USA.

The first two are considers surprise winners but Judi Anderson (1978) was a favorite to win Miss Universe and placed first runner up that year. She did really well in semifinals and was a shock that she didn’t win!
