I've been a Country music disciple for 50 years, we knew of the Carter Family but----not Anita! Are you kidding me! Watching Anita sing on UTube she is amazing, fantastic, unbelievable and by far the greatest female voice of all time.
This is the greatest voice that no one knows about. Why she was never the greatest singer in country music history is the greatest mystery in musical history.

June Carter was better known for her comedy routine than a singer. She was part of the Carter family and the Carter sisters. Anita always had the " Voice ".In the early years they were on a Springfield Mo. radio station along with a young Chet Atkins. I believe it KMOX. I listened to them everyday. This would have been about 1948 or 49. A very talented family.

i saw anita cater singing with johny and june in the mid eighties. she was singing back-up and even in that capasity her voice STUNED the audiance,recordings dont do it justice her voice was like a crystal chadiler hanging in the air she easily could have been a superstar, but basically she didnt want it once she had kids music was a part time job for her she was basically a "mom type" of woman and realy couldnt care less about anything eles
