Anita Carter had her special gift from God ,stolen by her own family ,Anita Carter should have been known as a famous country ,jazz, and rock singer ,her Voice was off the charts ,her range was right up to a C5 , compared to Dolly Parton ,and Patsy Cline , I would put Anita Carter right up there ,with the very best of them.
My goodness I was born, bred, and raised on country music and this is the first time I've really sat and listened to her. Johnny Cash was right, she is the most under rated female country singer of all time. I think she can more than hold her own against Loretta, Dolly, Wanda, Patsy, and all the rest. What was country music thinking by not promoting her much, much, much more.
My favorite female singer since the first time I heard her and the Carter Family sing on the old battery radio. I am 86 years old and grew up listening to this wonderful family....Anita has a voice that I can't explain. It is hard to grasp that one human can be blessed with such awesome talent.... Thank you, and I am glad this morning I found this by just scrolling the lists.
The most beautiful voice I ever heard she just tears your heart out. I only discovered her recently on here and I just can’t get enough of her! Pure liquid gold!
Same here have sat up all night listening to her only discovered her last night at 11pm now 8am in the Land Down Under, what a talent, cannot decide between Anita n Patsy C, who is my favourite
@@raymondpulham2583 Anita, Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Cline and Karen Carpenter had such beautiful voices. Sadly, Linda is the only one of the four still with us.
@@johnnymac8680 yes both very good, another sleepless night as I found more songs from Anita to listen too plus songs with her family, artists from the past did not have all the technology that is around today to make some so called top selling singers sound good, they had one shot at it to get it right
Of course Anita grew up in an incredible musical family but certain qualities in her voice are unexplainable really. I think she was born with some of that talent as a gift from God to the world. And it can be said that the best singing comes directly from the heart and she had such a wonderful heart. And if all that were not enough she was such a beautiful woman. I have been continuing to find more and more of her songs here on youtube which is a blessing, but I will say that this one is definitely one of her best.
A face to fall in love with, and a voice to match! She is among the only 17 females elected to the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME, although she didn't get in on her own strength, but as part of the mother and three daughters of the "Carter Family." She should also be singularly enshrined. Only time will tell.
Have always loved Jonny and June and the Carter Family but had never heard Anita do solo. What a great voice I wouldn't have heard if it wasn't for youtube.
Fantastic! the most beautiful voice of a generation, check her early recordings as baby of the Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle in the 40's. There is a good reason she was dubbed "The Appalachian Angel"
This is beautiful and doesn't she have a beautiful voice. She was my favorite of the Carters. Love this one - going to my favorites. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a great Sunday. Gwen

Im ashamed to say I have only listened to a few of this lady songs over the years , the video with Hank Williams "I can't help it if I'm still in love with you" is my favourite. She has such a lovely pure voice. I think Alison krauss is the closest we have these days.
It's a dead heat betwixt this version and the one by Patti Page, "The Singing Rage." Anita Carter possessed the most ethereally sensuous singing voice I think I've ever heard.
Nita Hogg -Sorry to say, Anita Carter passed away July 1999, age 66. She had rheumatoid artritis for years. The drugs she took damaged her pancreas, kidney and liver. She was living with June Carter and Johnny Case at the time, and was under hospice care. I'm sure she suffered.
Anita Carter had a sweet and wondrful voice.
Appalachian angel. God gave her a magnificent voice. ❤
I wish we had singers like Anita again but God only sends us a few and no one I have ever heard has a voice like hers.
God Bless Anita Carter
I don’t think any other song illustrates more perfectly the breathtaking beauty of Anita’s voice than this one. I could listen to her for ever.
She is the best singer of this song, of all who sing it. Very good singer, very underrated. One of Kris Kristofferson's songs that no one hears.

One just has to wonder: Why is Anita not the Queen of Country Music? What held her down? It's unimaginable
@@LarryGum-ib2ys Wondering the same....just an incredibly amazing singer!!
There’s never been a more achingly beautiful voice than Anita’s in my opinion, just exquisite. I never ever tire of listening to her.
WOW....just an outstanding voice...she'd have been more popular than anyone if she'd had stepped out there more.

I think Johnny said the best voices in country music was Anita Carter and Connie Smith.

You got it Nita, she is the best and l´m a youngster 65.
I love this beautiful lady's voice. I have got to the stage where I need to hear her sing every day.
The greatest female voice in country music!!! I love her so much, God Bless The Appalachian Angel.
She has such a beautiful voice. The more I listen to her, the more I am convinced she has the prettiest voice I have ever heard.
A perfect rendition of a great song. Anita's voice was perfection.
A hidden GEM WOW!, FABULOUS NO ONE TODAY IS BETTER

One of the most beautiful women in country music, just like her voice...
she had the voice that's creates an emotion that is tearfully beautiful
I just love this song from Anita. She is helping to keep me going during lockdown.

Anita Carter also has a beautiful voice 😍
Carter Familie, Johnny Cash und Anita Carter mit ihrer unglaublichen Stimme! Schade, daß wir damals nur Bill Haley und Elvis im Kopf hatten.
I love Anita Carter. Always have!
OHWOW She is so beautiful and sings with an Angel's voice!
She soothes my spirit
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you for this. She makes me cry.
Voice of an angel
SOOOOOoooo GOOD!! ANITA CARTER!!

These lyrics sounds like something that Anita just might write for herself--a testimony of sorts
Pure magic.

Heaven couldn't wait any longer for Her sweet voice. She left us at age 66.
I can't listen to this angel without crying. Just cant do it.
Thank Hank for the comment and the listen and you are welcome!
this is me all over
I just think Anita Carter had excellent musical taste. Feeling but not over-emotionalism.
They call her the Appalachian Angel!!!!
