It's almost a crime against humanity that Anita Carter left us with so little of her music. A voice like hers should have been recorded far more often than it was.
@Creepy Lobster Feel free to name some of the voices that rival Anita's that left us with so little recorded music.
@@ajo3085 I agree, her voice was touched by god. It cuts through all the Carter family stuff.
Tks. She was from another planet.

Helen plays the guitar solo on "Wildwood Flower" Precisely like her Mom! That isnt easy.
The Carter sisters were all knockouts in their own right and wonderfully talented musicians.

I would have had a big crush on Anita Carter if I lived in that era, such a beautiful voice.
Huge Carter Family/Sisters fan here, seeing this for the first time. This must be the music they play in heaven, and we had it here on earth.
If you ever watched June or Johnny sing together or apart, they sing the same songs over and over and each time it is like the first time. Their faces tell a story. Just watch once in a while.
Wow this is amazing and Helen plays the guitar so well she's also very pretty!
I am a huge fan of the Carter family. My great grandmother was a Carter.
How lucky you are.
Awesome, truly!
Jimmy Carter too, but it's something else.
Country Music at it’s best 😊
Ya know.. If i had to pick an absolute favorite video on my UA-cam today, it would be this one. I play it almost everyday... 💞
I play it almost everyday also.
@@trishpeterson9043 we have good taste.. 😎
They all had their different talents but them together they were so good.

Love theses old vidyas of the carter family. I true almost forgotten gem.
They will live forever
Helen looks just like her mom and plays that guitar the exact same too
Helen is just amazing. Well, they all are.
Anita Carter had an amazing voice , it brings tears to my eyes 😇❤️
WOW , Can they please sing another 10 songs? #Cartersisterscountrymusichalloffame
They all sing beautifully but Anita is from another planet lol "The Appalachian Angel"
Jann Howard for sure. And the Carter girls. This is how it is done.
Absolutely beautiful music...
An American treasure.

Paráda,mám je moc rád.
There's this newfangled invention. It's called stereo, and allows the audio signal to be fed to BOTH ears. You should look into it!
Helen the musician , June the funny gal , and Anita the voice name a better trio ?
Ricardo Vazquez I loved June’s voice.
Rosie R all 3 had great voices 👍🏼
Cut out June and they had a better duo.
They all sing but June tells the story, just watch her face when she sings.
I think that is Jan Howard singing with the 3 Carter Sisters
Thank you for the information, I did not know who the other female singer was.
Brazil 2020, estou ouvindo aqui. Gosto de bluegrass. Aqui temos a moda de viola que é a nossa musica antiga musica country
Shut up filthy Brazílian.
What a fine video! Thank you for posting it!
i like helen and anita
Anita was lovely and sang like an angel, and Helen was absolutely delicious.
Don't forget June. Alot of this would not be published or shown if not for Johnny Cash. Alot is taken from his TV show.
Part of my family lore is the Carters would stay in my grandpa's hotel here in Del Rio when they came to town to do their show on XERF Radio in Acuna MX. Not sure how much truth there is to it but Mama had a bunch of old snapshots or them during that time.
I would love to see those photos. Do you still have them?
@@peggymarsheck4926 No we don't. My wife let a friend of hers borrow them many years ago and this so called friend actually sent them to the Carter family without asking us first. So needless to say the woman is not our friend anymore. 😡
JANUSZ Beautiful Trio the Carter Sisters Prächtige Stimmen the World of klasse Sanger mit super Songs Gitarre 🎸 gespielt Artistisch

HELEN AND THE’scratch’
All those Carter girls left us way to soon...(We still have June Carters daughter Carlene though)
Who is the lady in the lilac. Absolutely beautiful
Jan Howard
please explain those dresses, someone.
twiddley, da dee doo ,......
O
Jehovah God promises that those who have died will live again in Isaiah 26:19:
"Your dead will live. My corpses will rise. Wake up and shout for joy, residents of the dust! For your dew is like the morning dew, and the earth will let those who are powerless in death live again."
He will bring them back to life; that is the hope of the resurrection...
I hate Jan Howard and don't know why. The only person that belonged with the carters is chet Atkins
Should have just been the sisters.
These ladies learned music while in diapers.
The Wildwood Flower lyrics sound like someone screwed up the translation or heard them wrong and people insist on singing it that way. Sounds idiotic.
Are you unaware that this song was originally composed in 1860??
@@_x_yujin Yes I am aware. I'm also aware that the English language hasn't changed quite that much. I still think,
"Oh I'll twine with my mingles" makes no sense and is probably misheard lyrics.
The lyrics are in beautiful old Appalacian lingo i.e.well preserved Elizabethan English.. totally from a diff era of Scots-Irish descendants. It makes perfect sense. Good idea to see & hear it in its entirety as may understand it better
[Verse 1]
Oh, I'll twine with my mingles and waving black hair
With the roses so red and the lilies so fair
And the myrtle so bright with the emerald dew
The pale amanita and eyes look like blue
[Verse 2]
I will dance, I will sing, and my loft shall be gay
I will charm every heart, in his crown I will sway
When I woke from my dreaming my idol was clay
All portion of love had all flown away
[Verse 3]
Oh, he taught me to love him and promised to love
And to cherish me over all others above
How my heart is now wondering no misery can tell
He's left me no warning, no words of farewell
[Verse 4]
Oh, he taught me to love him and called me his flower
That's blooming to cheer him through life's dreary hour
Oh, I long to see him and regret the dark hour
He's gone and neglected this pale wildwood flower
It’s the way the song was passed down in Appalachia. Even Maybelle Carter recognized that there was something off, but “that’s the way I learned it from my Mama.”
@@HistorianMom Its been awhile but I read a poem that must have been the inspiration for the song, or perhaps was the true source of the poem and the English made sense. This does not.
It reminds of me young adults these days saying things like 'it's funner to do this" or "how could that be worser...." yes I've heard both and I looked at them like I look at these silly lyrics and think: wow, they really are as stupid as they sound.
They all are dead.
Nothing against Jan Howard but she doesn't fit with these girls.
What are your reasons for saying that?
