One of the things I like the most is how the director asks the soloists to stand up at the beggining of the song.
I am trying to imagine how it will be in the the heavenly estate by the angels, especially the soprano! ❤❤❤
Always get chills when the sopranos do their magic "and he shall reign for ever and ever". I don't know of anything that tops that.

Makes me yearn for the incredible music and praise we will be involved with in heaven with all the host of angels.
This is exquisite. The most beautiful song of praise, ever written. I love this rendition and Trevor Pinnock's exuberance. He brilliantly expounds this gorgeous composition.
I've hard many renditions of this glorious masterpiece and this is right at the top. WELL DONE! Praise the lord!

It's hard not to love the narrator/conductor.

Great Sound, great Version! Pinnock's turning to the audience shows us this is so well known that it can be played by the Orchestra and Choir alone. Haendel's power is beyond verbal remarks, thus the appropriate irony "all this wonder in less than the time it takes to boil an egg". Wonderful!

+Lygia Costa , guys, don't forget that these words are from the Bible, not invented by the author. It's a profecy about Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Even though I know what you want to say, if God's inspired word says "Lord of lords", there must be a reason.
Certenly Davccelion, these words aren't completely a biblical text. It's a poem compossed and arranged musically by Haendel based on a biblical reference... then it's not a biblical hymn, you know? This opus is the must recognized chant in the world for christians and laics...
miguel morales , what I am saying it' s just a fact I came up with as a singer: unlikely other Bible based compositions, like the Christmas oratorium of Bach, for example, Haendel's Messiah is a word by word copy of Biblical verses. In this particular song there are several beeing recited. No one is talking of Biblical hymns, religion or laicism. Any questions, I am afraid that only Haendel knows why he decides to do so.

I wonder if adults have difficulty learning this piece because I learned this as a sophomore in high school, and I found it actually quite easy to learn of course I was a base, but those poor sopranos. Some of my good friends in my high school choir were sopranos and they said those notes killed their voice.

Non è un mistero che Handel appartenesse ad una scuola segreta, la stessa che fu di Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci e molti altri prima e dopo. Il test al quale fu sottoposto era di esprimere in qualsiasi forma ciò di cui aveva appreso ed ecco che l'Halleluia ne fu il prodotto. Egli mise su di un piatto di metallo tantissimi triangolini equilateri alla rinfusa, poi collegò il piatto con tanti fili di metallo al fine di renderli sensibili alle vibrazioni, poi provò e riprovò fin quando sul piatto non apparve una stella a 5 punte o pentacolo. Con l'attuale tecnologia è possibile verificarlo comodamente. Questo fu il profondo amore che Handel ebbe per il suo Dio, il suo capolavoro. In fondo è quello che hanno sempre fatto gli alchimisti di ogni epoca rigirare il piombo nel crogiolo per trasformarlo in oro.......alcuni rimanevano soddisfatti dell'aurea trasformazione, altri procedevano oltre........Handel fu uno di questi. IL PUNTO CULMINANTE LO SI RAGGIUNGE NEL 3.04 - 3.06 ( disegnate un pentagramma partendo dal basso sul lato sinistro, arrivate in vetta e discendete, tracciate il lato a sinistra e collegatevi a quello di destra, poi ricongiungetevi al punto di partenza....senza mai staccare la punta della matita; ORA ha un senso.)
