Hallelujah, praise God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I went to church as a child and it all felt good and everything to go but I couldn't understand it all until I returned when I was older. Its a life long education though doubt and negativities can try to sneak in your head. I believe in the greater good. To serve God by loving and helping others and making right choices. That's the key. To make right and good choices in life and never be self serving.

Make the leap of faith, non-believers. Confess your sins and sincerely accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. The joyful effervescence that went through me, as if it were a spring, when I did was something I cannot describe. It was TRULY wonderful, and I was not expecting it at all.
Consider me revealed...Heavenly music does wonders for my state of mind. The combination of singers and this composer is irresistible to this techy old chorister...Thank you for posting it way back then.

Some of those children have already been VIOLATED by Catholic priests, and others will be, what a pity that we are so stupid pretending that nothing happens.

And the redeemed of Christ Jesus say Yes and Amen; for He is born unto us, Saviour, Master and Lord--the propitiation for each of us who have been drawn to Him by God the Father for repentance unto salvation, eternally.
+Carlos Eduardo Alarcón Avila Agreed. I love carols (especially British ones - e.g O little town of Bethlehem sung to Forest Green tune), yet I have no interest in religion and think the church is a sham. Great music though.
Doesn't it make you feel good to be alive, & privileged to be able to hear these sublime sounds? No need to be a believing Christian either, it's a celebration of life itself.
In fact, the need to be Christian is integral to fully understanding the piece of music. Without it, you can indeed savour the beauty of the sounds, but you will not quite understand the meaning of the words, nor the reasoning for why the tune is both joyful and triumphant.
Sorry, I can't agree.Wd. you say the same of Bach's cantatas & Haydn's masses, that it takes a believing Christian to appreciate them fully? You can say that belief in the truth of Isaiah's prophecy adds an extra dimension to your appreciation of the music, but please don't belittle the joy & the thrill that the music gives even non-believers, an affirmation, as I said earlier, not merely of Isaiah's prophecy, but of life itself, & I shd. like to add, of the heights to which humanity can attain.
Again, yes, Bach's Cantatas and Haydn's masses do require a christian faith to add meaning to them. This is indeed how the composers would have liked us to appreciate their music, with our faith. It adds flavour to the voices and emphasises the emotion of the event at hand, such as the mass. Bach and Haydn were both practicing Christians, Bach even wrote at the end of each of his cantata pages, "Soli Deo Gloria", Glory to God alone. This shows that the only purpose he wrote his Cantatas was for the praise and glory of his God. But yes, I do accept your reasoning, and everyone is free to listen and appreciate the music in their own way.
Guy, I'd be the last to denigrate your experience, musical or religious, as you hear this sublime music; & John, I know very well that Handel & Bach & Haydn were devout Christians who (in effect) dedicated much of their oeuvre to their faith. I can well assume, as I wrote earlier, that believing Christians enjoy 'an extra dimension' in their appreciation of Christian music. I've no doubt that a devout Christian feels a response, when they hear a 'Sanctus' or an 'Et resurrexit' by Haydn, or when they sing, as I have, 'Ein Feste Burg ist Unser Gott', that a non-believer doesn't. But that's surely a religious, not a musical response. And I can't see that it follows that those who don't share the Xtian faith cherished by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven & so many other composers of Xtian music, can't fully appreciate their music, or derive from it an experience that is...if I say spiritual I may be misunderstood, then how about ...transcendental? I only request you to allow as much value to the musical experience of non-believers, as they listen to the sublime Xtian-inspired music of the great composers, as a tolerant non-believer may give to yours. To me, 'For unto us a child is born' goes far beyond the prophecy of Isaiah. As I said earlier it celebrates life itself, &--- I'd like to add now--- the heights to which humanity may aspire. But I don't suppose I can convince you, any more than you can convince me.
I recorded (on VHS) this whole performance of the Messiah at least 4 times year after year in the 1990's when it was first released and shown annually on American TV back then. I still watch it several times a year, and this piece is my favorite.

I would say Satan became human and killed God. God sucks.
One of my favorite from the oratorio and one of my favorites to sing.
Make the leap of faith, non-believers. Confess your sins and sincerely accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. The joyful effervescence that went through me, as if it were a spring, when I did was something I cannot describe. It was TRULY wonderful, and I was not expecting it at all.
No thanks. Beautiful music though!
Handle Messiah was actually muslim
Muita beleza!
Consider me revealed...Heavenly music does wonders for my state of mind. The combination of singers and this composer is irresistible to this techy old chorister...Thank you for posting it way back then.

Ben del messiah, for unto us a child is borne
The Gospel:
JESUS died for our sins on the cross, HE shed HIS holy, innocent , precious blood for us (HIS blood washes away ALL sins) HE was buried but on the third day GOD raised HIM from the dead. All you have to do to be saved is: Believe in JESUS, trust in HIS blood. JESUS did everything for you, no works are required for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9) . (Don’t forget to repent of sin. )
This chorus is majes me closer to God. Beautifully
This is the best performance on youtube. Beautiful.
Some of those children have already been VIOLATED by Catholic priests, and others will be, what a pity that we are so stupid pretending that nothing happens.
@@marioprevil1139 These aren't Catholics you moron. These are Anglicans, Episcopalians in America

Fabulous! I love this group of choirsters!
And the redeemed of Christ Jesus say Yes and Amen; for He is born unto us, Saviour, Master and Lord--the propitiation for each of us who have been drawn to Him by God the Father for repentance unto salvation, eternally.
The world needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and proclaim him as King!
Amen! May the Lord God reign forever!
I'm atheist, a very critical of church and religion, but that doesn't keeps me from admiring works of art like this one
+Carlos Eduardo Alarcón Avila Agreed. I love carols (especially British ones - e.g O little town of Bethlehem sung to Forest Green tune), yet I have no interest in religion and think the church is a sham. Great music though.
One of my very favorite in Handel's Messiah next to the Hallelujah Chorus.
Oh, I listen to these voices often. They are my favorite of all times. How cute is the first boy the camera captures. Adorable
Performed as it should be. Bravo!
Unbelievably beautiful, I'm so thankful for music and for THIS music. A thousand times thank you.
I am Oraon Tribe Christian from india. It is very nice song. Jay Yeeshu!
"Magnificent", sublime, thank you so much !!!
Pretty wonderful music. It's God's gift to humanity.
I was non-believing, but now I am believing and it helps in the appreciating of this kind of music believe me.
Excellent ❤ ”For unto us a Child is born" gives me the great energy. Thanks to God.
Amazing Song❤️🥰
I recorded (on VHS) this whole performance of the Messiah at least 4 times year after year in the 1990's when it was first released and shown annually on American TV back then. I still watch it several times a year, and this piece is my favorite.
Papy Daniel
