My advice to new players - don't skip the side missions. You're going to have a much easier time as the game progresses if you use the side missions to get experience and to build your character's strength and you won't be giving up on the game at level 20 because you can't go 2 feet without getting murdered.
In my experience, you need a fair balance. I would definitely not recommend doing all side quests, but doing a few here and there is quite nice. Also, might just increase replayability if you do different side quests in different runs
I'm just still so surprised how people are still playing this GAME! I remember playing this on the xbox 360 and to this day I'M STILL COMING BACK TO IT! So many memories! Glad to see people like you making content for this game as it deserves to still be in the sunlight!
I went back to it when I burned out on BL3. I tried to give Zero another chance and still hate him. I still love playing as Maya, Axton and Krieg. Salvador is just easy mode.
I just bought the borderlands games this year and i played all of them plus dlcs in like two months 😂. They are amazing games and have aged spectacularly
Love your point on "copying" builds. I also think new players could get discouraged that way, by copying a build that is technically powerful but that they don't enjoy playing. "Most powerful" isn't always whats most enjoyable.
Facts! A lot of dart pistols are considered bad, but me personally I love them and you can actually get a very powerful meta changing one if you get the right rolls and use the right items. I also love some of the unique blue weapons that a lot of the player base doesn't consider.
burnout is a pretty subjective thing. from my personal POV I usually stop playing a game when it starts to feel like a second job and and the grind in this game can definitely feel that way.
The first time i played borderlands i was so angry that i kept getting one shotted by everyone and couldnt do any damage but i didint give up and here i am playing this game every single year.
I genuinely do agree with the no 1 pick. Played the game on PlayStation and played the game normally for the most part, then played the end of the game with a friend who had a way overleveled Salvador. He beat the final boss in like 3 punches and I was excited but now I’m bummed I didn’t get the experience myself. I’m playing with another friend now on PC and we started with level 1 characters. We’re about to be at the mission where we rescue Roland from the bloodshots and I’m having a great time now. Can’t wait to earn that defeat against jack. ❤
The only reason I see to keep a lower level gun like the hellfire is to use Claptrap’s safe and give it to one of your lower level characters that match or are below the level of the gun so you don’t have to farm it again. Good video though. I gave up on BL early then picked it up again and have not looked back.
I used to be really hung up on defense. I was always playing Maya spec-ing toward health regeneration and lengthening Phaselock. This latest playthrough, I'm filling up Cataclysm and Maya is a one-woman wrecking crew. Cloud Kill feels almost like a cheat code.
@@0fficalHellfire yeah, I was able to beat the game with a level 8 infinity pistol using cloud kill. not because I was attached to the infinity pistol, I was just challenging myself
@@0fficalHellfire For real. I keep going back to The Dust to farm Gettle for a Lyuda. It never drops, but I find I don't really need it very much. I want it for taking down the Bunker, but I might try a different strategy this playthrough.
Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out but if your an Axton player, using a Fire element Chopper, Antagonist Shield and your farming Hyperius, the Chopper makes quick work of him, with the correct method. Kreig benefits with it also if you use the Bloodlust skill tree
I stopped playing for 3 years and just got back into the game this month. Got my first dpuh from Savage Lee. Much more satisfying experience than the usual bar room brawl route.
This video was awesome. I've been on bl2 for ever ever and I know all these things, I just clicked because it kept showing up on my feed. Concisely and cogently spoken. Subscribed.
My advice for getting rid of low level weapons is to transfer them to other characters via the weapons locker in Sanctuary. A level 32 legendary item might not be useful at level 80 in UVHM, but you’ll still get plenty of use from it on other characters at a lower level.
Does anyone else hate the game mechanic when you go into fight for your life, and the enemies just start fucking moving away from you? I love borderlands but *THAT* shit has made me almost destroy my TV, console, and controllers. Sometimes I just have to take a couple week to month break. ESPECIALLY when I go farming for a couple of hours just for 1 weapon
Sometimes they get stuck on you. Like if you move in their Path, you can make them stop and just stand there and you can pelt them with ammo or melee until you're back up. Did this alot with Krieg before I unlocked the Bomb version.
Reliability of applying slag is what makes me HEAVILY hate BL2 endgame. I feel like slag should be a bonus, not a requirement... especially given bosses that are immune to it. Another thing... I play on console... Switch nowadays... And I have a severe skill issue hindering me from playing Zer0 but he's my favorite. I take WAYYY too much damage WAAAAY too easy and just go down before I can do a whole lot... I use deception, throw kunai, might fail to slag due to inconsistency with kunai because I dont wanna be revealed while slagging because im taking damage while that happens, then I try to kill a target but tend to miss crits a lot... like... A lot a lot... But if I sit still and aim careful then I can land crits, but you cant be that methodical all the time due to need for repositioning... Which is why I play Axton... While his gunplay with non exploding/grenade damage weapons is lacking compared to Zer0's intense bullet damage bonuses, Axton is reliable with his turret slag and regen skills. And the aggro it draws is a plus... But also... I miss B0re... I also like Maya but vs bosses she feels so... so weak...Krieg needs too much mental gymnastics to maintain his buffs for a gun build plus I dont like relying on kill skills for my damage output because a lot of bosses are 1v1 for large portions of the fight meaning my damage output would HINGE upon having killable minions... And I Hate Anarchy but if you wanna play gaige you have to in UVHM.... I frankly also hate that deathtrap cannot melee a majority of large unmoving enemies or flying enemies... At the least if his shock laser received an approximate 1k% damage buff it'd be viable.
One of my favourite games. I love the madness of it, running in all guns blazing. And the humour, of course. Completely agree with no 1. Cheating just ruins all games.
I actually downloaded this yesterday, can't wait to play it after all those years.. Hope its gonna be fun as i remember and not just a nostalgic feeling
8:45 Honestly, I think this should have been in the top five. I've gotten green and blue tier guns that had just the right stats to stay as my reliable go-to weapons for hours on end, and I've gotten legendries that are in every way _worse_ then what I already have and immediately get sold off.
I used to be one of those people. I bought borderlands handsome edition and stopped because I thought I was leveling up slow and was at level 22 not knowing I was close to beating it. I got back to it a little over a month ago and now am on my 5th play through and now I am having the biggest blast. But my Salvador max level 100% completion got corrupted so I have to start another one.
As someone who its a vet and has played for 7+ years I disagree with the attachment to guns one. Because there are some legendaries that can you can use for 13-15 levels before they scale down especially in normal mode and tvm. Like a level 18 slagga just hits way to hard especially with sirens cloud kill. Lyuda also hits hard for a while especially if you pair it with any slag weapon. The firehawk shield can also be busted and I personally it used the whole game. The grub is another one to that pistol is stupid. I agree with all your other tips though. This video is very informative definitely subbing.
Thank you :) and that’s a good point to mention as well. Some guns can carry you a lot further then most. But the majority will fall off shortly after being out leveled. Appreciate the comment though! Glad you liked it!
I agree, I just finished a normal mode play through with a lvl 7 unkempt harold on my lvl 35 Salvador. Decided to keep it since it dropped the first time I beat savage Lee, it just kept doing well.
@@kokohusman ewww!! That's a good gun! Harold is used in a lot of assassin builds because of boar. I used a level 38 Harold for most of TVM that I got from a world drop on my siren paired with my slagga I was doing mad damage.
When I first got this game in January of 2013 I played without Internet, hell I couldn't play my games on the Internet until I moved out of my parents house 3 years later, so I played this game without Internet for 3 years because we didn't have any. When my slag challenged bugged out on ps4 I took advantage of it and now my stats are 763% I even bought a turbo controller just to speed it up.
I usually use an XP cheat when I'm trying out new builds. I've put literally thousands of hours into this game and I'm still coming up with new ideas or stumbling across people who have a different way of looking at skills or playstyles that I want to try. But I don't have all the time in the world so the cheat makes it easy to work stuff out. I'll fire it up, put on a cheat that gives me a lot more XP per instance and run them up to level 40 or so...or high enough to figure out whether I like the idea or not. It's important to note that I'm looking at mechanics, not effects. If you understand how to work the mechanics, the extras (elemental damage, legendary gear, etc.) are largely superfluous. Then I wipe the character and build it for real. It's a great way to figure out what I want to do and to plan my advancement without wasting hours on a dead end concept.
Now that’s awesome! Playing around with shit to see what kind of new and unique builds and synergies you can create. Then starting fresh and trying to build a character out to it. That I wouldn’t even consider cheating, as you’re not using the character for anything other then testing. Glad you shared, that’s a unique perspective I hadn’t even thought of
@@0fficalHellfire I do this in multiple games, especially the ones I play with other people. Not only do I have a clear Idea of how to go about my build, I will never be "that guy" that takes a century to figure out how to spend his 1 skill point while the rest of the group has to waste time waiting for him.
Ive fallen into the borerlands 2 trap 😅. I got the handsome collection a while back for free with ps plus. Highly regret not starting back then because im hooked. Currently lvl 41 and doing my second run through in tvhm. I luv it
8:20 Actually, in TVHM and NVHM, slag increases *non*-slag damage by 100% (total of 200% damage), and does nothing for slag damage on the slagged target. In UVHM, Slag damage on a slagged target does +50% damage (150% total), and non-slag damage does +200% damage (300% in total!).
My advice is pick a character that speaks to you as in how you want to play for example do you want have your turret give you suppressing fire or run in and soak up bullets to unleash a deadly onslaught
I just started playing Borderlands 2 a couple months ago same it's so cool to see that the community is still strong. I'm struggling with my Gaige build in UVHM but the game is so good I don't mind building other characters at the same time. Thanks for the tips, i especially like the no 1 tip. I only ever play solo and even though i suffer a lot, finally taking down a raid boss feels so great, like a true accomplishment
only the unkept harold can carry you through the whole story😂 atleast first play through used a lvl 6 one through the whole play through, also great video bro!
i just got the game a couple weeks ago, started up a week ago and already got 40 hours in, a solo siren and a seperate mechro that me and a friend literally both made fresh characters for and play through when he gets free time. till then i just play solo. no idea why but i got instantly hooked lmao
sooo heartwarming to see newcomers to a game we been on for a decade.. hope you still havin a blast!!! idk what type of player you are but you might enjoy the (very) late game even more if u really got hooked wishing u the very best!
Borderlands is what made me fall in love with role-playing games in general. I love the idea of building your own character. Which is why i love number 2 spot. Dont try to copy someones exact builds. I like to use someone skills i hear are really good but i dont use every single one of em. I wanna try out what i find fun and make a unique build that i like to use for my play style. Huuuge props for number 2 tip
1st time I played was with zero and gave up at the bloodshot strong hold. Eventually came back a year later and beat it with maya. But for 1st time players learning the game I would recommend Gaige her bot does most of the work for you.
My single biggest tip is when playing NVM and TVHM your level affects everything. Being -1, on level, or +1 depending on what level the enemy is can make a big difference in how well you can take down enemies. If you’re struggling in a certain area grind out a level or two and come back and it’ll be significant difference in your effectiveness. And for UVHM your main goal is to get to level 80. The enemies are always going to be at the same level as you or +1. The less time you spend leveling in UVHM just means you can start farming good gear to bring into your first 3-4 OP levels.
I've played through BL3 6 times and 4 of those times were with each different vault hunter. I like Moze and Zane the best. Not only have played through game on both modes but through ALL of the DLC's and take downs. Only the Guardians take down was as OP as BL2. I am focused now on beating the pre-sequel and actually enjoying it. I might decided to play BL2 again.
Only just found your channel, ABSOLUTELY agree with number 1!! I've played this game hundreds of times and never once power leveled,im on a switch group and all that's asked is for power leveling or modded weapons. Sure each to their own but you might as well just let someone else play it😂
I've started this series about a year back and after finishing bl1 and taking a break, i played this, started with psycho kreig and loved his melee aspects so i made a melee build with explosives and have some explosive AR rn, it is the best game that i have played in a long time, follow these reccomendations, it makes the game very challenging and fun
Honestly for me hen I first started playing almost 6 years ago what held me back was not trying new things like other playthroughs or different skill trees or other characters and not different items and weapons and killing unique mobs but when I started doing those things the games experience got so much better
My first time playing Borderlands was BL2 and I picked Maya and had a blast. It took me longer and maybe other to actually get the game though still to this day I can’t just look at a weapons and tell if it’s a godroll or not or what parts are on it like I see people do in streams and on videos. I think BL1 is actually more difficult than BL2 or BL3. BL3 I think is the least difficult game of the series. I think a big problem people do also if they will try to play the dlc right beating there first play through and screw themselves when then trying to do a 2nd play through cause there weapons are under level.
This leans into the no cheating point you made but new players: don't pick up/ use modded gear . You can sometimes tell whether an item is modded due to it being a untextured white colour with purple ascents
quitting on a character is a big one. i mean i just lost my level 67 gunzerk because of corrupted data and the last download from that character was 5 days ago at level 51 with nothing i had before. im so unbelievably pissed. but i got back on him and am right now gridding UVHM.. again..
i dont even play this game. i am just deeply appreciative of how this gentlemen is so sincere at letting you know the best tips that he has. i might actually play through this game once just to know how is B L 2 is. (i only played B L 3 and its an incredible game.)
My first and last mistake in BL2 was a Zer0 :) Zer0 is so big piece of s#$%t. I quit an level 57 after dying about 40 times an simple mission. I laughed so much that I fell off my chair and i gave up with Zer0.
@@keyganhawkins600 Probably i'm too old for play him but dude that one shot piece of crap. Give shot and die :) My favorite is Sal unending rush :) I play UVHM without grog only transfusion granade and i have fun. With zero i laugh how glass canon is Zer0.
# 5 yup my lvl 2 Pistol from knuckle dragger carried me till about 20 b4 I said ok bye and found something with a 9FR 😅 # 4 yup I'm using a bandit shock shot gun and oof
I remember when I first started playing bordalands my friend started his level 25 character and I was struck with a level 1 it was so frustrating then I started playing it by myself and really picked up interest with it
All I'm saying is pay attention to Red Flavor Text with weapons, regardless of color. Think that plays a big part, telling you how that gun will react.
My "new player" mistake was when back around 2010 or before, at the time played WoW, when a guildmate told me how fun BL is ,dont remember if it was 1 or 2, probably 1, i didnt look it up and it took me a few more years to find out how fun these games are.
Hell yeah! That’s awesome to hear. Sometimes a little commitment is all we need. I had seen so so so many of my friends fall into that. Had to bring it up here. Thank you for sharing.
I played all the BL games and BL2 is still my favorite. I died many times playing before I got the hang of it. Like you said it`s so fun to get a real good gun that lasts 4-5 rounds. The 4 shell exploding shotguns are my favorite. Jack is the BEST!
Started playing a month back, got a legendary from Doc Mercy, then, after a while, instead of keeping it in storage for alt characters, I sold it, thought legendaries weren't as rare as they are
No worries with getting rid of legendaries, after you get to farming you’ll get used to them falling off and getting Better ones. I wanted to wish you well with your borderlands journey tho my friend! Many years ahead of you!
Hey man newer to your channel because ive only been a borderlands 2 player for about a year but i didnt know if you had a unique and leagondary weapons guide? Thatd be dope if you started that!
In uvhm, don’t accept side missions with blue, purple or legendary loot rewards until you’re max level. Some of those rewards are great but useless if you accept the mission when you’re under max level, as they scale to that level
"Using Bandit weapons" Oh, I never really gave them a chance. They always seem terrible and would require spending half the fight in the reload animation. "Other than a couple exceptions, they're very bad" I feel quite validated!
I have a purple rarity fire elementary pistol with around 90 mag size. The bullets are slow but they home into the enemies and has decent damage. My character is underleveled so gonna hold onto it for a while.
My thing is I just don't know where to start. I got the game and like 12+ DLC's but when I try to stick to the main story at some point I'm getting sent to some DLC place that's level 50+ then I have to figure out how to get back on the main story. Also putting in all the codes and getting like 300 keys doesn't help because now after I get a level I want to go open the box like 20 times and when I was putting in keys I got max level upgraded weapons? I couldn't even use so I sold them now I have 50 million $ at level 14. I just got way to much way to fast.
There Are few tiny ones. But one big Mistake I saw many new players doing No taking time in NVHM. What I mean is, not exploring and doing side quests. Learning the game is obviously best on easiest difficulty. I see people rushing main quest dieing, blaming it on character and gear and quiting... they don't usualy know save&quit is a think on their own. Not enough eridium = no ammo reserve = pointless Hating on Dahl and Tediore (you can quess why). I know they end up overleveled if they don't learn in NVHM leads to being overleveled up to UVHM. But that's different issue. BL2 isn't learning players to Aim to the head and use slag more often before you end up in UVHM. But that's different problem
tediore is amazing! especially if you know how chucking scales. dahl on the other hand... the purple rarity and below dahl guns in bl2 are just ass, even in nvhm (besides uniques obviously. mainly lascaux and sand hawk)
@@SpazerLaser Nothing is really bad on NVHM. But I mean the ammo consumption of Burst fire and accidental chucking whole magazine with Tediore. That's something you will do as new Borderlands player. In normal mode you won't have enough ammo reserve and you'll be stuck with from White to blues for a while. Unless you know to farm dedicated drops and which items perform better. But that's not case for fresh players. Without farming it will take while to find good purples and even legendaries
@@kvetoslavzeleny1764 let me rephrase, Dahl is just mediocre compared to other manufacturers when it comes to non-uniques. All the points you made are absolutely right tho
When I get a character to Sanctuary, I spend time farming eridium there, just to get enough backpack space and ammo to get through the Roland rescue without running out.
I ended up giving up on my zero mainly because it just sucks. I have to do soooo much farming to get it to the new max level (it's level 50 and i made it before having any of the uvhm upgrade packs) and to get weapons for it. I know that it can be really fun but I prefer playing on my maya, sal, or on some rare occasions my gaige
Ah yes, my favorite Bandit launcher, The Bunny. Glad you mentioned it. Edit: And saying Slag applies a 50% increase?! Dude, don’t even upload videos about the game if you barely know how basic mechanics work.
Maybe you need to do some fact checking before you say someone else is wrong… Borderlands Wiki - In Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, Slag effects are boosted to last longer (15s) and cause triple damage (+200%) from non-slag sources. Further slag damage against slagged targets is increased by 50%.
@@0fficalHellfire 🤦♂️ Yeah. It lets other slag weapons do 50% more damage. But you didn’t say that in the video. You said “any other damage you do will receive a 50% increase upon being slagged.” Which is incorrect. It ONLY has a 50% increase of other slag guns, which is by and large NOT the greatest benefit, as the greatest benefit is the 200% increase from other damage types. WHICH YOU DIDNT MENTION. Now you’re just trying to justify your mistake. It now kinda seems like you are getting your info just from the wiki and not bothering to understand what it means, just repeating it in a video, incorrectly.
For me I like getting boosted because it shows me what I can expect later in the game while experiencing it myself idk if that makes any sense but my first character was boosted a tiny bit (like ten levels) and some one dropped an insane amount of gear and that moment made my Brain think “my god I love this game” so all characters op8 then 10 respectively it certainly didn’t turn me off of the game
My tip was having played through the game forwards and backwards with axton now I’m playing zer0 and I’m not looking at any builds just experimenting with what I want or like for now I’ll most likely end up on a UA-cam vid or asking Google soon
Another honourable mention: Doing the side quests. I think it is essential in the very first playthrough, because if you don’t, the areas will soon be a couple levels above you, whereas if you do all side quests then it will be reversed, and you will stay just ahead of the curve. Best for casual players.
on giving up a character, you didn't mention re-specing. you could probably make the character you have work better for you. If you watch content creators, they still re-spec frequently!
Awesome tip! Definitely something I could’ve mentioned. Re-specing is definitely something you need to try if you’re thinking of giving up on your character.
thanks mang, good if you're jumping into an old character too. It's good to be reminded of all the awesome stuff your character can do.@@0fficalHellfire
If you are playing axton. Building him around the Sabre turret. It screws you over towards the end of the story. Build axton more first, then focus on the Sabre turret.
? If you are using the turret correctly, Axton is great for the very 1st playthough to handle mobs and draw aggro. If you go further, you may want to research and re-spec. But it's the easist character to play for newbies. So many try Zer0 or Kreig, fail and never come back to the game. Just used Axton on my 1st playthrough on my Steam Deck. (Previously gaming was on Xbone). Was a joy to play. Didn't get any legendaries, but I did farm Sanctuary for eridium early on. Even did all missions in Caustic Caverns.
first time I quit my character was krieg and because I was too bad for him, he was my first character that I got to UVHM and was loving melee, got him to bnkr and got frustrated because I didnt wan to look up any guides on how to kill him with melee. started playing Zero for a bit and then after I while I tried bnkr again and first tried him
I dont get attached to my old gear but I do save my legendary items so that my next character that needs that item doesnt have to go through the hassle of farming it again i have a perfect lvl 30 and lvl 50 DPUH that almost every character I've taken in to true and ultimate vault hunter mode used until I leveled up enough for it to stop being useful
I can get behind most of what you said, but I still have some things I wanna share. First: While I agree that a large portion of the Bandit guns are complete garbage, their SMG's are actually pretty decent. I did a Bandit Allegiance playthrough on Maya quite a few years ago, and it worked like a charm. Only thing was that I had to be within mid range to be able to hit stuff. That build would certainly work for a few OP levels too, but I wouldn't try it all the way. Second: If a character doesn't do it for you, you should abandon it. At least for the time being. Keep in mind that this is a game, and it's supposed to be fun. Not a chore. After a while, one may look at things from a different perspective, and feel the urge to try that char again. I had that experience with Zero. Finally... Exploring things as a new player, is one of the most important things there is. It keeps the creativity active. Being spoon fed... Not so much! Good job! I think I'll drop you a like! 😉
As an MMO player I get way too attached to my loot. Used to grinding long and hard then holding on to it for a long time. However there is simply not the space to hoard gear in Borderlands games without mods. Better to learn to let go and accept that the game relishes hosing you down in loot.
Just downloaded on the the p5 after swapping my Xbox x that I hit lvl 16. I hit max lvl back on my p3. Just love this game man. Yea bandit suck, but the swagger .
Bandit rocket launchers in the x3 rocket are great for fight 4 ur life. At short to med. Distance u can easily get a kill to revive. Just save them for being downed and use the remaining 3 weapon slots for mobs and bosses.
You sound like K6, odd that. I never sold legendaries. I grew too attached to them, so instead I would get a 2player ready on my console, and then go and do a raid boss. Then just as I was about to kill it, I would pause the game and jump in player 2. That would give player 2 a lot of XP but more importantly eridium. I would then do this enough to get enough eridium on a few characters and then max out their backpack slots. Then I would just put my legendaries in their backpacks for when I did new playthrough. I know that’s lame, but I don’t wish to spend hours of my days grinding enemies for particular guns and gear. Also, “the bunny”? That’s Tediore, surely? You mentioned it alongside the Chopper and the Madhaus.
Nothing wrong with that at all. Not hating on how anybody plays, just giving tips that I personally think would help new players the best. But it’s completely up to you on how you want to play, that’s the beauty of it, as for me sounding like K6. He’s already blocked me on twitter if that tells you anything about how we feel about each other ;)
I think mine was not to really pay attention to the skill trees. I kind of put the skill points all over the place without thinking much how they would support each other or how I was playing the game.
Honestly if u do the token glitch u can get ur fire rate so high that a low level infinity can last 20+ levels. With the token glitch my normal mode level infinity lasted until ultimate vault hunter mode. With the token glitch i got my bar fire rate to a little over 400%
If any new player watches this! From what i learned i can say (and that might be against no 2): If you want to have fun with uvhm and not just play normal and tvhm, watch playthroughs like joltzdudes ultimate playthrough or smth like low moral fibers farming vids. Reason is: 1: You learn the strength of your character. 2: You learn what good gear is. Because i had no idea what good gear is and how to get it before i watched these vids. Because without help you will not have fun with uvhm or defeat any raid boss on your own. You dont need to copy them, but they will teach you how to identify decent gear and how to make it work
3:13 New playere here: I don‘t understand, aren‘t stats just stats? Why would I care for the brand if the stats of a Bandit Weapon I find are just straight up better? (Faster reload, more damage, more magazine?)
Bandits gimmick is having a large magizine traded off for bad recoil and accuracy. So they’ll all have this trend which compared to other manufacturers is just weak in comparison. There’s more that makes a weapon important than just the base line stats. I still recommend you try different things as some bandit weapons can be just fine! But most pistols and assault rifles by them are really bad.
Just started looking to the internet to check out legendaries i pick up, to see if theyre worth a crap. I have a tendency to chuck them, if i have something slightly higher powered. Yes, im new .
I recently got back into bl2, I had all characters max back in the day on 360. Gonna do it since I never remaxed when op 10 came out, all I gotta say is Harold is easy mode pro tip
That's true.. I held onto three infinity ammo pistols with fire damage from level 8 until level 40... I killed bosses like the bunker..... But dam it took forever, thankfully i just hide in a spot and held down the trigger 😅
My issue is just trying out each character, I'm so sick of southern shelf till sanctuary run it makes me not want to bother anymore, I never did a kreig axton or until recently Salvador run as I started with zero and moved Maya then to gaige. So I tend to boost a side character on a second profile so that character is true vault hunter mode and can get me a boosted vault hunter. Then the fight for sanctuary DLC came out with lv30 starts
When I tried to get my sister to play the game I played with her on my lv 80 Sal and tried not to kill anything bc she would not play unless I played with her.
@@0fficalHellfire I have an idea for a video series so take haterlands and put a positive spin on it and call it something like positivity lands idk just an idea
My advice to new players - don't skip the side missions. You're going to have a much easier time as the game progresses if you use the side missions to get experience and to build your character's strength and you won't be giving up on the game at level 20 because you can't go 2 feet without getting murdered.
Great tip! I always do side missions. No matter what.
Also, most side missions are very good in BL2.
Naaaaaaaa, skiping side missions and rushing is a nice taste of what UVHM is gonna be
I’ve been playing this game for YEARS and just started another play through after a while and I’m barely doing them now
In my experience, you need a fair balance.
I Cane Back to Borderlands when i didnt have any Games to Play and i loved it. I even baught Borderlands on ALL plattforms
Helps when it's descendants are self-cancelling 💀
It’s a classic after all
“hell when i first got the game i didn’t have wifi. so i couldn’t look up shit” 😂
@@kurtisvandermiller4507fr zero with a grog Harald and Lyuda can get boring. I try to mix it up
burnout is a pretty subjective thing. from my personal POV I usually stop playing a game when it starts to feel like a second job and and the grind in this game can definitely feel that way.
I’m barely just playing this game and have no idea what I’m doing and I’m barely in the beginning and can’t even pass that 😭
exactly i wish the switch version had a mod to make items 100% drop rate, i hate farming for 10% or lower item to drop
@@acduels10% is 1 in 10. Holy shit, you don’t know what grinding is 🤡
The first time i played borderlands i was so angry that i kept getting one shotted by everyone and couldnt do any damage but i didint give up and here i am playing this game every single year.
The person that got me into borderland was YOTESLAYA RIP man miss him all the times. :(
I genuinely do agree with the no 1 pick.
Mannnn that skill tree is crazy, you’re gonna be melting enemies with cloud kill. Shit is so good
@@0fficalHellfire yeah, I was able to beat the game with a level 8 infinity pistol using cloud kill. not because I was attached to the infinity pistol, I was just challenging myself
@@bagagik cloud kill is no challenge my friend 💀
@@0fficalHellfire😂
@@0fficalHellfire For real. I keep going back to The Dust to farm Gettle for a Lyuda. It never drops, but I find I don't really need it very much. I want it for taking down the Bunker, but I might try a different strategy this playthrough.
I'll still be playing this game when I'm in my 80's!!! (which is 30 years from now) 😎👍
Fuck yeah, me to.
Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out but if your an Axton player, using a Fire element Chopper, Antagonist Shield and your farming Hyperius, the Chopper makes quick work of him, with the correct method. Kreig benefits with it also if you use the Bloodlust skill tree
That's new, will try it next time as i honestly am burnout against hyperius.
Dang that fleshstick glitch was a throwback! I remember joining public games and see people doing that nonestop. Great video!
Starting new characters and playing in co-op with a friend is seriously the best experience in this game!
That’s what my buddy and I are doing right now and it’s like reliving one of the best childhood gaming memories
It’s on purpose I think they made AI smarter after borderlands 1 but yea they really make you work for it especially in UVHM
YES same in TPS I CANT STAND IT they even just hide behind something and stay there, not moving an inch
Much worse in BL1 too since you can't even move.
You need anger management is what that’s called
I agree
3:15 Bandit SMGs actually compete for best non unique SMGs in the game meanwhile Bandit Launchers ARE the best non uniques
yeah i was confused about that too. badaboom and the tattler are my fav guns in the game. he did say it was his opinion though so whateva.
I wasn't even factoring in red text guns straight up Bandit SMGs and Launchers are actually strong@@friedtoads13
@@AmekoElite slagga to is bandit and that thing is the best weapon in the whole game. And yeah like you said bandit launchers are really good.
I luv it
Generally, if I get a low level legendary and outlevel it, I relegate it to the stash to give to another character that may have a use for it
Another great tip if you would like to keep your old gear
I just started BL2 and restarted my character and got a unkempt Harold and conference call from shift codes. Now I have 2 of them after restart

I remember talking to a guy from bungie in 2016 about there model, he said loot is gonna take a new industry standard white green blue purple and gold

Borderlands is what made me fall in love with role-playing games in general. I love the idea of building your own character. Which is why i love number 2 spot. Dont try to copy someones exact builds.
TPS is my home away from home❤
Playing BL1 makes you a better BL2 player.
This leans into the no cheating point you made but new players: don't pick up/ use modded gear . You can sometimes tell whether an item is modded due to it being a untextured white colour with purple ascents
For sure! I went in depth on why cheating is awful for new players and players in general in my video before this one
quitting on a character is a big one. i mean i just lost my level 67 gunzerk because of corrupted data and the last download from that character was 5 days ago at level 51 with nothing i had before. im so unbelievably pissed. but i got back on him and am right now gridding UVHM.. again..

I fell into that category of ppl who quit I kept restarting when I’d come back I’m finally on play through 3 at level 70 after years of playing
Hell yeah! That’s awesome to hear. Sometimes a little commitment is all we need. I had seen so so so many of my friends fall into that. Had to bring it up here. Thank you for sharing.
I played all the BL games and BL2 is still my favorite. I died many times playing before I got the hang of it. Like you said
it`s so fun to get a real good gun that lasts 4-5 rounds. The 4 shell exploding shotguns are my favorite. Jack is the BEST!
Started playing a month back, got a legendary from Doc Mercy, then, after a while, instead of keeping it in storage for alt characters, I sold it, thought legendaries weren't as rare as they are

I have a purple rarity fire elementary pistol with around 90 mag size. The bullets are slow but they home into the enemies and has decent damage. My character is underleveled so gonna hold onto it for a while.
Going after one skilltree is crazy
My thing is I just don't know where to start. I got the game and like 12+ DLC's but when I try to stick to the main story at some point I'm getting sent to some DLC place that's level 50+ then I have to figure out how to get back on the main story. Also putting in all the codes and getting like 300 keys doesn't help because now after I get a level I want to go open the box like 20 times and when I was putting in keys I got max level upgraded weapons? I couldn't even use so I sold them now I have 50 million $ at level 14. I just got way to much way to fast.
3:54 the bunny is tediore, and overall id say the badaboom is not a bad rocket launcher from bandit
There Are few tiny ones. But one big Mistake I saw many new players doing
No taking time in NVHM.
Bunny ist the best :) Of course, if you want to kill yourself :)
Maybe you need to do some fact checking before you say someone else is wrong…
Borderlands Wiki - In Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, Slag effects are boosted to last longer (15s) and cause triple damage (+200%) from non-slag sources. Further slag damage against slagged targets is increased by 50%.
how can you know about random uniques like the bunny, but not know simple uvhm mechanics? Also I'm pretty sure that was just an honest mistake.
@@0fficalHellfire 🤦♂️ Yeah. It lets other slag weapons do 50% more damage. But you didn’t say that in the video.
You said “any other damage you do will receive a 50% increase upon being slagged.”
Which is incorrect.
Even did all missions in Caustic Caverns.
first time I quit my character was krieg and because I was too bad for him, he was my first character that I got to UVHM and was loving melee, got him to bnkr and got frustrated because I didnt wan to look up any guides on how to kill him with melee.
started playing Zero for a bit and then after I while I tried bnkr again and first tried him
I dont get attached to my old gear but I do save my legendary items so that my next character that needs that item doesnt have to go through the hassle of farming it again
i have a perfect lvl 30 and lvl 50 DPUH that almost every character I've taken in to true and ultimate vault hunter mode used until I leveled up enough for it to stop being useful
My first time watching your content. You got my sub. I love me some borderlands content no matter which borderlands it is
The biggest mistake is picking kreig, axton or gaige 😂
He’s already blocked me on twitter if that tells you anything about how we feel about each other ;)
I played the Pre Sequel in depth before borderlands 2 and I enjoy the vertical gameplay and the VHs a lot more in the pre sequel.
My issue why I play and stop then come back is bc I don't ever really find any other players
Who needs other players? 🤣
From what i learned i can say (and that might be against no 2):
If you want to have fun with uvhm and not just play normal and tvhm, watch playthroughs like joltzdudes ultimate playthrough or smth like low moral fibers farming vids.
Reason is:
1: You learn the strength of your character.
After watching this I realized that my b2 game hasn't been updated at all on the 360, I could legit got farm fleahstick or whatever his name was
Just started looking to the internet to check out legendaries i pick up, to see if theyre worth a crap.
Awwww
@@0fficalHellfire I have an idea for a video series so take haterlands and put a positive spin on it and call it something like positivity lands idk just an idea
