Hey You, If You Stumble Upon This Video And Want More Borderlands 2 Gunny Type Stuff, I Just Uploaded A New Video Explaining All Guns, You Should Deffo Check It Out ;) ua-cam.com/video/Mai2Hjs7sH4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LFXGaming
Fun Fact: It's revealed through radio ads in BL3, S&S aren't just still around, they canonically make the glowing beacon lights that alert you to items in the overworld. It's not just a gameplay feature, it's lore!
One of the things I like most about the Borderlands franchise is how much of what is considered "typical game play" (like respawning after ya get killed) is written into the lore.
They now arent like S&S amunitions, they are S&S utilities or smth, they prob make stuff like (idk if real or not this stuff is) the vending machines template so anyone wanting a shop can use it, drawers and tables ,forks ,spoons ,knifes ,plates, stuff like that,
in BL2 you dont actually fund hyperion at all because youre buying your weapons from Marcus, who just gets his stock from bandits and vault hunters or are otherwise looting them from enemies
Yeah but that New-U station respawn sure as hell is finding Hyperion, that’s why the robot voice of the station in bl2 once said (not word for word but along the lines of) “we support vault hunters until they aren’t useful anymore”
@@krackedbeats5947 I thought Randy already said that the Hyperion New You stations weren't canon. Which makes sense because why would Jack keep letting you respawn when he wants you perma dead. Just in case you say "Oh they want the money", then why allow the Vault Hunter to keep respawning to kill Jack himself and the Warrior? It would only make sense up until you reach that point (sense he does want to kill you himself so respawning would allow you to reach him). Plus they are already rich as fuck and any money you make on the way could already be obtainable after he wiped all life on Pandora out, unless the Warrior burned everything. I thought the reasoning why they did that was because they thought it would be funny.
Yea idk why in BL3 rhys and katagawa make fun of tediore cause all it takes is 1 purple smg reload after 1 shot to kill 99% of enemies, the 1% is just leveld up goliaths
S&S munitions are still around just that they rebranded as S&S accessories which they are the lore reason for all the customization items like heads skins and the light beams that come from the guns you see on the ground, they stopped making guns because of how easy it was for random people to just build their own massive capacity mags.
@@lazie7786 well those too but mostly people were just able to take several standard mags, slice them and practically stitch them together to make a one big mag, you actually notice this with bl2 bandit ARs that don't use the belt feed mag, it's literally two mags fused together
yep, i still remember that, so interesting to me, just can't believe those bandit or scav can make those functional gun just use the scrap. *Innovation* ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
You forgot Gearbox, which is an in game manufacturer with legendaries, too. Also, the Tediore reload is technically an issue. Their guns were meant to just instantly reload but they'd explode, so they just rebranded it as a feature.
@@superscatboyim assuming theres just a little digistruct machine you buy and its dedicated to digistructing only the gun cheaper than making it function ig
@@superscatboy Not really, considering that you habitually create cars and robots out of thin air. Not to mention your clones after you kick the bucket. Digistructing is all very basic tech in their weird setting.
I always pictured Tediore as what you actually buy is a cheap portable digistruct system with one design hardwired into it When the gun leaves your hand it triggers a self-destruct and activates the digistruct module.
pretty sure thats the legit reason, i just love the idea they had of "okay so our weapons are terrible to shoot soooooooo what now" and that was their next idea
yeah its legit what it does. tediore even says any smuck can use them as all you need to do is press trigger to shoot. toss when out of ammo. and they even say only have 1 hand? u can still use a tediore :D
Something about Jakobs that you didn’t mention is their “cask aged gunpowder” so that every round fired has that signature Jakobs smell. They also made a gun that shoots out swords, for when you want to stab someone, but they’re too far away
Side note, Hyperion Sniper Rifles have a special unlisted mechanic where the longer you're scoped in, the more accuracy they gain, replacing the usual "gets more accurate as you fire". This change is reflected in the tags of the Hyperion snipers in 3, but not in 2 and TPS despite it being present.
Some times you can get a hyperian gun with the affect added, it makes it more accurate quickly. Instead of 5 shots to 100 accurate to 2 shots for 100 accurate
I've always think of Vladof as the "If you can't aim, then just shoot more bullets at the enemy. Statistically, one of them is bound to hit... eventually"
I actually like Dahl in BL3, but that might also just be me really liking the military aesthetic and the ability to swap fire modes to basically turn my assault rifles into sniper rifles.
Dahl actually makes really good guns. They seem lackluster, but that's because they basically took over the role of Atlas from BL1, They've got all the accuracy of Hyperion and the firerate of Vladof with S&S magazine capacities and damage that frequently rivals old Torgue. I used to avoid Dahl because the damage is a bit lacking compared to Jackobs, but then I played as Moze and discovered just how powerful the guns really are.
I hated dahl in the other games, i'm not usually a fan of burst (especially on something like a sniper rifle) and they didn't really have anything particular about them like vladof or hyperion. They were by far one of my favourite manufacturers in bl3, only matched by vladof. Going from "only burst and one optic" to "switch from full to burst or from burst to semi and also increase zoom" made them go from a useless gimmick brand to a swiss army knife with a blend of single target sniping thanks to the accuracy and damage, horde spray and pray thanks to the mag size and fire rate, all without compromising on the stuff i care about. I was playing as moze, which tbf probably loves dahl more than the others do due to her assault rifle synergy, but tbh i was more stoked to find the perfect purple dahl lmg than some random legendary.
One thing worth mentioning is that in Bl3 Torgue seemingly found a workaround for the whole "Laser=Not Explode" by making there laser gun also fire Micro Rockets thus creating the "Lasersploder"
Torgue: LASERS CAN'T EXPLODE! Torgue to Torgue: YOU SKAG-LICKIN' B****! YOU JUST AIN'T F***IN' TRYIN' HARD ENOUGH! HAVE YOU TRIED ADDING MORE MOTHER F***IN' ROCKETS!?
You'd think they'd just go with microwave beams instead of lasers considering microwaves can make something burst like an unfortunate bug under a timberland boot
When you think Tediore, you think of the people who made throwing an empty gun a viable combat method. You've definitely seen at least one action flick where a guy does it.
Well there's actual medieval manual telling you to unscrew the pommel of your sword and throw it at your opponent, so it's not the weirdest thing ever.
Correction: Tediore didn't INTENTIONALLY create their unique reload. It came as an unfortunate defect after they experimented on newer, faster ways of reloading. Tediore couldn't fix it, so they marketed it as a "feature"--instead of "life-threatening"--added digistruct tech, and voila. Tediore's stock soared overnight
Did someone notice that COV guns have bl2 gun parts as their own gun parts? The gun at 28:17 uses the torgue barrel (or the barrel that we mostly see on the stinkpot) another AR that uses Hyperion / Maliwan Stock, and another AR that is right before the 28:17 AR that uses an "flamethrower" barrel that was in bl2 on e tech SMG's
It would make sense. The guns use slapped together parts, so they no doubt built them from old, discarded firearms that no one used anymore because of new advances in firearms.
I mean, kitbashing is a very real and very ugly thing, so when everyone goes all space and corpo I bet there will be a Renaissance in ugly ass chimera guns.
31:05 in New Tales from the Borderlands, the Tediore CEO is talking to all gun manufacturers, including Wainright, Rhys, Torgue, Kategawa Sr. and Athena, i couldn't really figure out which company Athena owned, but the Hyperion shield theory makes sense
I think that the first Tales from the Borderlands hinted that Mr. Blake was gonna be the Hyperion CEO. And as EruptionFang went into detail about why it wouldn't work with her, Mr. Torgue, and to a extent Kategawa Sr.(model wise along with expecting the one sibling that Kategawa Jr. didn't kill) being the CEO's of those companies. That game was even more half assed than 3 with it's story and if anything most borderlands fans wish that it didn't exist with a recourse in it's story to feel more like 2 with it's balance of humor an seriousness.
@@mistermann4163 i wholeheartedly disagree the story in the first tales game is MILES head of borderlands 3. i can barely even make it through new playthroughs of 3 without just turning my brain off to the cutscenes and half the dialogue
The Hyperion pistols became both SMGs and shotguns. The BL3 Hyperion shotguns often end up being just slightly oversized pistols. Most likely, with Athena at the helm they decided to make their weapons more compatible with dual-wielding and off-hand use which then made their pistols redundant, that's my head canon anyway.
With Dahl and the burst fire fully auto thing, you can explain it as your character changing the firing mode whenever they aim down sights as most rifles are able to switch between fully auto and burst fire.
Part of why i loved the toggle feature in 3, because while i thought it was a cool gimmick in 2, sometimes i wanna dakka down range and sometimes i wanna plug 3 quick rounds at point blank range.
It could also be an implementation similar to some machine pistols, where the stock holds the mechanism for the other firemode and the toggle. Pressure on the stock or the shifted grip engages the burst limiter or disengages the auto-sear.
14:39 I just remembered, at the end of the final boss fight, I made sure that the gun that delivered the final shot to Jack was a Hyperion Gun, like a gun you produced was the reason you died.
Tediore weapons don't "magically" teleport back to your hands. After you throw a Tediore gun a new one is digistructed in your hands. It's an established technology in the game. It's how Gaige uses Deathtrap in BL2 as another example of something being digistructed in universe.
11:30 The answer to Scavs building high cap magazines is: Pandora and Elpis obviously have different gravity than we experience. Everything is lighter therefore you can have stiffer springs pushing up lighter cartridges equating to overall much easier to produce "effective" performance. Also Scooter is a huge contributor to the digi-struct seen in this universe. I think the answer to this is Eridian tech. I think Moxxi is or is going to be a Siren (Think about the term Siren and then think about the character Moxxi). I think Sirens are of Eridian descent, much like the Guardians and I don't believe Scooter's story is over. Also this would seemingly be a congruent link to make for Tediore. It's made for the every man, by the every man; which some could say Scooter IS the every man of every man and conveniently explains the strange turn they take after B1 what with their exploding throws and digi-structing reloads.. Just a theory. A GAME THEORY
@@LFXGaming i unironiclly in real life practise gun tricks and quickdraw in my free time i indeed have a big iron on my hip "Special operations foxhound... Revolver *gun spinning* ocelot"
I have a theory on why Hyperion doesn’t produce pistols anymore, since Athena took over Hyperion and decided to integrate her old Atlas tech shield into the weapons, the pistol cant fit it, or its too small, so they phased out pistols for the sake of the shield tech
I bet that Athena will find a way to create micro shilds that will fit on pistols. i mean, if COV found a way to take ammo from your black-hole pack then surely Hyperion would make mini shild generators for pistols.
Jakobs is my favorite manufacturer just due to their motto from BL2. "If it took more than one shot, you weren't using a Jakobs." They even say they're into home protection and a family!
@@sakura368 Were you shooting the enemies and not a wall? The only reason they don't get one tapped for me is if they are either a high health enemy, my gun's damage hasn't been compared to enemies that are my level or if I'm missing with some bullets.
I want to compare each manufacturer to a real world company. Jakobs - Henry. Their dedication to levergats reminds me greatly of Jakobs. They also utilize wood and blued steel. They're also starting to make 9mm carbines. S&S - Glock. A smallish company that makes guns, among other things, especially things related to weapons, but not directly weapons. Glock has, in the past, made doorknobs, shower curtain rods, entrenching tools, knives, and the links to link ammunition for firing from a belt fed. They also currently produce firewood and horse semen. I may be writing this to share this fact. Vladof - The whole gamut of soviet arms designers. The USSR was quite weird with weapon manufacturing, with most of the weapons being made by state arsenals. The point was to arm as many soldiers as needed with simple weapons that could be easily trained on. During the Cold War, many of the soldiers that the USSR had were conscripts, and many of them came from villages with low literacy rates that lacked electricity and running water. A lot of them were effectively medieval peasants. Hyperion - Heckler and Koch. They produce high end, exceptionally reliable firearms that are overbuilt for combat zones. They utilize often unusual mechanisms, such as the roller delayed mechanism present in many of their long guns, but primarily the G3 and the MP5. The MP5 specifically is known to run like a sewing machine, with minimal recoil and impressive accuracy under full auto fire. They also make some insane, off the wall weapons, like the G11, which is designed to use caseless ammo and has an internal mechanism more comparable to a clock than a gun. Atlas - Wilson Combat. With Wilson Combat, we get into weapons that are more intended as luxury items and collector pieces, but are still not unreasonable to bring into combat. They utilize all sorts of hand fit parts and build their weapons to be as reliable as they are nice. They come with a price tag to match, however. Dahl - Sig Sauer. They produce some of the best weapons for the money. Highly reliable, usually somewhat modular, especially their more recent stuff, like the MCX, P365, and P320. They have won the contract for the M17 and M18 series of handguns for the US Army and Marine Corps respectively, and the XM7 rifle (previously the XM5, but was renamed as Colt has a trademark on M5) and the XM250 machine gun are promising, even if I think it's an uphill battle to replace the 5.56 as the standard infantry cartridge. I do think that the XM250 could replace the M249 in a lot of roles, as it's lighter. Maliwan - Kel Tec. Now, I'm not taking into consideration Kel Tec's reputation, but you can't deny they make some seriously innovative designs. The KSG is a pump shotgun which can cram a massive 14+1 rounds of 12ga into a barely above 26 inch package. The P3AT beat the LCP to the punch in practically microscopic .380s, and arguably beat the P365 to the ultra-compact concealed carry market by almost a decade, with the P9. That's just a few, but if anyone has anything to add, please do.
I think that Tediore fits better with the role of the space Kel Tek(regarding all the memes about Kel Tek being in Florida), Maliwan could be FN, a manufacturer who takes great pride in their designs and strives to produce innovative technologies with an eye on quality
@@thefourthdymensionmusic I mean they were just a polymer injection molding company. Then they made knives and machine gun belt links, then pistols, then firewood, horse... batter... and more.
I personally like Dahl weapons because they are pretty normal and convinient. They don't make your whole screen shake from explosions or create lasershow, sure, but sometimes simple fire mode switch is enough. Simple and effective
Great video, love a concise explanation of the BL guns and their evolution. It always weirded me how in the Moze skill tree, there is a perk with a description that says, "if you want guidance, get a sherpa. If you want explosives, get a Vladof". No you dont! You want explosives, get a TORGUE!!! i would say.
to be fair explosive moze builds are some of the most fun i've ever had in an fps, especially with the dual nuke build. nothing says victory like pressing two triggers and turning everything withing a half mile into a fine red mist. vladofs guns may not make explosions very well, but their bears do!
@@777BIGschott i mained moze when i played BL3. genuinely the most fun VH ive ever played as in a BL game. going dual miniguns with explosive bullets is figuratively a blast and even moreso literally. i lagged my game out so much everytime id fire and i loved every second of it.
@@M0D776 That also is a good idea and probably what it actually is lol, I mean if we have weapons like The Infinity Pistol and Sandhawk Smg (Seriously how in THE HELL can bullets form a "Flapping" Pattern like that without being sentient lmfao) a retinal scanner for automatic fire method swapping doesn't seem so far fetched
considering they changed it to modes you can switch directly in BL3, I'm sure it was a compromise in design in the older games. Would be awkward to have an extra key to remember just for one weapon manufacturer, but now half the weapons have some kind of mode toggle too.
I just noticed: The Gearbox manufacturer brand isn't in this video for Borderlands 1. seriously, there ARE guns that are Gearbox branded in Borderlands 1, and I've used a small handful of them.
Dont forget the trio of white rarity at the start of bl2. But yeah, they probably arent considered given how there are so few gearbox guns that actually exist.
Got this in my recommended and hey, great quality man! Didn’t even know Athena was running Hyperion doesn’t really seem like she would but if it’s to give janey a better life I can see it. Tho holy crap that cutscene from the new tales game is so sad it’s literally just her pre sequel model
Yeah, Athena running Hyperion is a bit of controversial topic since the only proof for that is New tales wich aren't (or rather aren't considered by the community) cannon
The Closest thing we got to a Hyperion Launcher after BL1 was the Ion Cannon from the casino DLC in BL3. Such a missed opportunity considering it even drops from a Hyperion enemy but end up being manufactured by Vladof. The funny thing about it too was that it was busted on release.
I wouldn't say it was really busted because all they did was make it take 4 ammo instead of 1 per shot. Not like they halved the damage at the same time or anything.
with hyperion being the bad guys in 2 it just makes it even funnier that the New-u are made and maintained by hyperion...and you pay money when you die...so yeah lol
@@wesleyeberly228 na they r canon, in the echo logs for gaiges backstory, she kills one of her classmates with deathtrap and the classmate comes back to life through new u station. The explanation for roland permanently dying is just borderlands is a story marcus tells to orphans and marcus is just a rlly bad storyteller 🙃
"Thank you for attempting to overthrow us. We are making considerable profits from your numerous deaths" Yea, they deliberately keep bringing the Vault Hunters back out of corporate greed. Only making their deaths permanent when Jack want them to be, I.E: Roland
@@djerk2138 I always thought that the new-u’s work in the same way as the vita chambers in bioshock. If you die from physical trauma (you get shot too many times, in non-vital areas, or you fall off something high, etc.), it will revive you; if you’re dying from a disease or old age, or something, or are shot somewhere vital (like, heart or head), then you won’t be revived. So, you can assume that none of the playable characters get shot in the head or heart during the game: it’s not too much a stretch since lore-wise, injury is treated seriously. But Roland gets shot in the heart, which the new-u can’t fix, so he dies.
In fairness, most guns you pick up in Borderlands are stolen goods taken from either storage or the corpses of your enemies. So like, 90% of the time, using Hyperion weaponry doesn't support Hyperion.
Reminded how the Echo 2 is a grenade mode in Borderlands 3 because of a problem where it'd just explode if you so much as looked at it funny. Also, one of the few unique Common rarity items in the series.
@@chriscobb2102 Are we talking about lore here or the actual game code itself? Based on what the OP is saying there, it sounds like in lore that the reason why Tediore guns are thrown in BL2 and onward is because of a design flaw in the weapons themselves that the company couldn't be bothered to fix.
@@chriscobb2102 I doubt that very much considering there is a whole animation for throwing the gun an then having a new one digitally reconstruct itself in you hands
I know this is a year old, but I've got to say that it's actually not surprising that bandits were able to make huge complex magazines for Bandit/Scav guns after S&S pulled out of the weapons market. You've got to remember that while most of them have had their brains cooked from the Pandoran sun, a lot of bandits used to be really smart people like Tannis. A huge chunk of Pandora's bandit population were employees of Dahl or other manufacturers and probably had at least some military or engineering experience.
I love that the new Atlas is basically Rhys making a gun he could use. I also like that CoV actually made bandit guns look like something a bandit would make in their crazy ass state I’m glad they kept the same sorta weapon in wonderlands and I hope a similar “endless mag go brrr” style brand is in 4
Also interesting fact about COV guns, you can see the BL2 weapons parts to nail the theme of these guns being cobbled together and somehow working. Some examples that I noticed being the BL2 DAHL barrel on the Sawbar, Hyperion sniper stock on the Rebound, and the TORGUE gyro-jet barrel on a random COV AR.
Honestly thats a really cool little addition that adds to the worldbuilding of how these guns are made, it also warms my heart to see the old BL2 weapon parts updated in the Unreal 4 engine
The tediore reload makes more sense with the everyman cheapo theme if you think about how its like a "consumerism dont bother fixing anything just throw your trash away" thing.
I have a theory. Have you noticed that all weapons of purple quality or below look a lot like the legendary ones? I believe they were all legendary at some point, but from the moment they were sold by manufacturers or stolen, they started to wear out and their parts started to have problems, so they started using spare parts from other manufacturers. So a white torgue pistol was a Harold at its best, but the bad guys started fixing them as best they could and learned over time how to reverse engineer them.
In every borderlands game except 3 legendaries were just purple rarity gear with special effects It was like this in Borderlands 3 too until patches made a lot of legendaries do increased damage instead of actually fixing the damage scaling overall
Watching your video really made me feel like Dahl should've gotten hyperion's shields in BL3 and Hyperion should have gotten a more laser feel to promote accuracy and potentially deal bonus shield/armor damage, that way their development in BL2 wouldn't feel wasted. But it doesn't fit lore as well.
Dahl in PreSequel: When the Lost Legion soldiers are killed their last words are usually "But we're the good guys". They are the good guys as your character helps the bad guy in main story. Get your facts straight.
It's said by lore that tediore guns are so cheap that when you fire a magazine they malfunction and explode, so you just get another one, and they are so cheap that they are basically free, that's why they "appear" on your hands, they are actually being digistructed, so you are getting a new weapon every time you reload
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like Dahk in bl3 the most. I like having control over my fire rate and optics and having a brand that's just conventional but consistent and reliable. I just wish Dahl could have made shotguns and launchers, a burst fire/auto/semi-auto fast-firing shotgun would kick ass and the launchers could be either highly-accurate, high-speed projectile recoilless rifles or rapid-fire MLRS with the alt-fire being an arcing mortar-fire style of firing pattern like the hail from bl2
i do like them in 3 its just i had such a specific brand image attached to them it was sad to see it change, nostalgia bait probably. also DAHL Rocket launchers in BL2, BURST FIRE ROCKET LAUNCHER WHAT
Im suprised you never really mentioned how from borderlands 1 to borderlands 2/tps, that jakobs went from slow firing, to incredible fast firing - often being faster then you could pull the trigger, i feel it made significant difference between the two, as it went from a slow firing, methodical playstyle, to a much faster paced, guns blazing sort of gun - i know this was likely to accommodate for borderlands 2's more intensive gun-play, but still worth a small mention
Never enjoyed how Daul guns felt until BL3. In BL3 they were my favorite line of weapons because they finally nailed that COD/Battlefield feeling of arcadey militaristic. I also enjoy the variety of different firing modes for them instead of the consistent full auto hip/burst ads.
Ngl, I didn't think I'd be as much of a Jakobs fan as I am. But goddamn do I love me some Jakobs. It's the main weapon type I carry. If I want elemental weapon types, I go either Tediore or Torgue. But I prefer Tediore. In BDL 2, when you throw the weapon and it explodes then teleports back to your hand it's SO useful. It's like basically getting a ton of free grenade damage with every reload. And if you have an elemental Tediore weapon(I had acid and slag) it just releases a huge cloud of elemental damage that can one-shot enemies at high levels. But my main love in these games is Jakobs. Gimme that high powered, one-shot-one-kill, in the palm of my hand any day.
Maybe the reason Hyperion only makes 3 types of guns in BL3 is because of the fall of Handsome Jack and the events of Tales. Jack grew the company to great lengths but in exchange for killing off the higher ups. Then after Tales I think the lost of the space station and staff the company hit a new low with money. By BL3 it could be assumed that the company is now getting back on its feet. But to save money they had to cut production down to only 3 types of weapons. Who knows, maybe by BL4 they will have more weapon types again
fuuuuuuuuuuuuu..... but nah i wanted to only cover weapons available in every version of each game, ik the GOTY enhanced had them but in the end i decided not to, hope you can forgive me :o
@@brandonkoppes2950 you can also get a gearbox weapon in the final circle of duty mission. the game once gave me a double anarchy with 71 accuracy, but still 4x200+ damage, which is pretty ridiculous.
My theory about bandit/scav weapons is that the bandits in Pandora have a select few who are smart bandits or idiot servants that make the weapons. In mine cart mischief Tannis says that some of the bandits used to be scientists who have gone mad over time. Those who used to be scientist now filled with bloodlust and a taste for blood made guns with more bullets to shoot people longer. Scav are well scavengers and I’m willing to bet most of them know their way around tech and some were very good at making guns despite being dumb.
Mainly went to this video curious as to what S&S Munitions was ever since it didn’t seem to appear in any other game… so now I guess all the Bandit, Scav and COV weapons are essentially salvaged and improvised versions of the abandoned S&S weaponry mixed together with scraps bandits, scavs and the COV had scrounged up.
I once found a Torque shotgun in Borderaland 2 that was double barrel and with stickies it just went BAM BAM, reload, POPOPOPOPOPOPOP. Most satisfying shit ever.
12:09 To answer that question: refer to the side quest in BL2 in the caustic caverns pushing a minecart full of eridium while tannis gives you a lore dump TLDR: The reason why these bandits were able to make these weapons is because a majority of them were originally a part of some of the other Gun manufacturing companies that were originally present on Pandora during BL1 who fled the scene after shit got wack and promptly abandoned any and all personnel that were still left on the planet. Dahl and Atlas being the big two that did it the worse. With that being said, it makes sense why these bandits know how to make these guns, especially the large magazines, cause they been doing it long before they ended up stranded on Pandora in the first place.
Dude, you're going to take off if you keep this quality up. And I'll be here for the ride. Just remember, take a lesson from Jontron and Internet Historian. People are willing to wait for quality. And we're willing to wait for you to do it without burnout. Keep at it, my man, I can't wait to see what you do next!
Oh its so funny you mention internet historian now that his plagiarism is known and all of the videos in this series are so HEAVILY plagiarized as well
Tediore is seriously slept on, there's a reason Joltz used them in so many speedkills. I think they're meant to represent bad-value dollar store products, and budget cars that nickel and dime you with services and repairs. Something Americans are extremely familiar with. Did you know this business model is why so many McDonald's places have broken ice cream machines?
In lore the reload thing was so cheaply done the gun would explode in your hands instead The basic premise in dev logs was suppose to be a weapon brand so bad your better off throwing it instead
i have a sneaking suspicion that, in some cases, the "broken ice cream machine" thing is probably just employees deciding to turn it off so they dont have to make icecream. in any case, im sure they are poorly made, as i work in fast food myself and we constantly deal with broken equipment.
I like how each of the manufacturers for the guns has different reloading systems, like how Hyperion guns have the weird opening for putting the mags in, while Jakob's guns, like their sinper rifles and revolvers have the classic revolving chamber clip. (I don't know too much about guns, so sorry if I got any of the gun terms wrong or how they work)
The bl2 Dahl is kinda replicated in Destiny, there is a gun called the Suros Regime, which when you are hip firing, it is fast, when you ADS it is slower with more damage. Definitely not the same but I think it is the closest comparative?
the swordsplosion is possibly the best idea of a gun ive seen, i would wanna be in whatever kind of drunken board room meeting that was invented in, "yo so you know explosions are cool or whatever but like EXPLODING SWORDS, now THAT is something i can get behind"
39:30 Well yeah, as Moze herself says when introducing herself to Claptrap, she used to be a soldier in the Vladof army, so that's why her gameplay in particular is so based, and so based around recreating that scene in The Godfather starring Sonny Corleone.
My reasoning for Dahl guns having that weird mechanic was that the guns had a fire select feature integrated into the stocks and grips. You press a stock against your shoulder (or grip your pistol with two hands), it changes fire modes.
I was never fond of using sniper rifles in FPSs but when I started playing the Borderlands series, snipers have really grown on me. As far as my favorite company for sniper rifles, Dahl & Jakobs, especially BL3 absolute peak imo
5:22 if memory serves in borderlands 2 trailers it says the Tediore founder lost his thumbs so they developed the throwable reloads, you can see him later in the video i think
Somebody’s probably already said this but Moze actually fought for Vladof Corporations private army in the Ursa Corps, a mechanized combat division. There she achieved the rank of Gunner First Class. She left with her iron bear mech after a suicide mission at Darzaran bay left her entire squad dead and her superiors assuming she has also been slaughtered. Also apparently her full name is Moserah Hayussinian Yan-Lun al-Amir Andreyevna, so yeah, maybe shortening it to Moze was a good idea.
6:00 Even in BL1 they were "exploding micro-missiles". You see how the numbers on your screen shooting with them are yellow instead of white? That's explosive damage.
Non-canon Dahl explanation: A lidar/infrared sensor detects your face as you approach the scope. Once a certain threshold is hit, the device switches to burst.
It's funny i was so young when i first hopped on 2 (or any borderlands game anyways) i HATED hyperion weapons and never even wanted to pick one up . Because they felt bad to me ? No , because HYPERION BAD.
Have to say, im a Jacob's guy. A single shot hits like a truck, accurate, and fires as fast as you can pull the trigger. Learn how to use the recoil to aim, supplement with scatter grenades, and you are wiping out whole platoons in one go.
I only wish that games going forward had legacy weapons that were callbacks to the older ones in the series. Even though S&S doesn't make guns, you would still be able to find them in their original format... Same with eridian. My favorite weapon in all of the games was the eridian thunder shotgun.
I always like to think that the bandit weapons in 2 are actually manufactured by the crimson raiders given their colour scheme, the names coming from actual bandits getting their hands on them and naming the weapons themselves.
I interpreted it as Bandit/Scav guns being purely after-market products, where the more complex bits of tech and mechanisms were salvaged off of random other manufactured guns, with high-magazines being especially prized and prioritized by the bandits. Afterwards, the more intelligent members of these groups with some know how in gun construction build a body from scrap to fit the specific piece of salvaged gun components.
Story wise I don't know why Hyperion stopped making pistols. The real reason is because since they added a new manufacture, the consoles at the time (ps4 and xbone) didn't have the memory space to handle that big of an potential inventory generator. So, Tediore, COV, Maliwan, and Hyperion all lost a category or 2 of weapon type to make way for Atlas. Also the reason why they cut down on manufactures making their own type of shield, instead of having it be an attribute every shield.
Jakobs is my favorite manufacturer. They are simple guns but that simplicity is what helps make them reliable along with their damage and accuracy. Playing through 3 with some friends and I've been primarily using them. I've had a Jakobs Assault Rifle in my loadout since level 12 and I'm currently level 24 and it's still been strong (usually reserve it for high health flesh enemies due to it being incendiary damage)

Plus they are already rich as fuck and any money you make on the way could already be obtainable after he wiped all life on Pandora out, unless the Warrior burned everything. I thought the reasoning why they did that was because they thought it would be funny.

That's no true, they state "Sustained fire and aiming down the sights increases accuracy", so it's reflected.
Apparently it's with all snipers Hyperion just does it faster.
Some times you can get a hyperian gun with the affect added, it makes it more accurate quickly. Instead of 5 shots to 100 accurate to 2 shots for 100 accurate
Minor note on BL1 Tediore: All of their legendary and pearlescent weapons have innate ammo regeneration. That's like the whole gimmick on all of them.
I've always think of Vladof as the "If you can't aim, then just shoot more bullets at the enemy. Statistically, one of them is bound to hit... eventually"
Especially when you factor in that Vladof rocket launchers sometimes have free rockets.
It's like if Gaige's discord was turned into a whole gun manufacturer
If you through enough shit against a wall eventually they’re bound to stick
Accuracy by volume
For boarderlands 2 still prefer vladoff just slag em and dump a clio
I actually like Dahl in BL3, but that might also just be me really liking the military aesthetic and the ability to swap fire modes to basically turn my assault rifles into sniper rifles.
True, their long barrel lmgs feels good
Dahl actually makes really good guns.
The legendary gun warlord drives me nuts tho lol, both cycles are burst only
I hated dahl in the other games, i'm not usually a fan of burst (especially on something like a sniper rifle) and they didn't really have anything particular about them like vladof or hyperion.
Some of there pistols are good
One thing worth mentioning is that in Bl3 Torgue seemingly found a workaround for the whole "Laser=Not Explode" by making there laser gun also fire Micro Rockets thus creating the "Lasersploder"
John wick when hes out of bullets lol
If you melee just after the gun leaves your hand you can infinite throw
"Tediore, the HiPoint of Borderlands guns."
So basically, they should be renamed Bethesdiore?

The Hyperion pistols became both SMGs and shotguns. The BL3 Hyperion shotguns often end up being just slightly oversized pistols. Most likely, with Athena at the helm they decided to make their weapons more compatible with dual-wielding and off-hand use which then made their pistols redundant, that's my head canon anyway.

Tediore weapons don't "magically" teleport back to your hands. After you throw a Tediore gun a new one is digistructed in your hands. It's an established technology in the game. It's how Gaige uses Deathtrap in BL2 as another example of something being digistructed in universe.
You get digistructed yourself when you die and respawn lol
11:30 The answer to Scavs building high cap magazines is:
Pandora and Elpis obviously have different gravity than we experience.
Torgue- AMTEC. World leaders in explosive round and grenade technology. Not recommended for civilian use.
I think that Tediore fits better with the role of the space Kel Tek(regarding all the memes about Kel Tek being in Florida), Maliwan could be FN, a manufacturer who takes great pride in their designs and strives to produce innovative technologies with an eye on quality

You've got to remember that while most of them have had their brains cooked from the Pandoran sun, a lot of bandits used to be really smart people like Tannis. A huge chunk of Pandora's bandit population were employees of Dahl or other manufacturers and probably had at least some military or engineering experience.

Jakobs have the best slogan ever. "If it took more than one shot, you werent using a Jakobs"
The Hot Mama is also an elemental Jakobs gun in bl2
The tediore reload makes more sense with the everyman cheapo theme if you think about how its like a "consumerism dont bother fixing anything just throw your trash away" thing.
I have a theory. Have you noticed that all weapons of purple quality or below look a lot like the legendary ones? I believe they were all legendary at some point, but from the moment they were sold by manufacturers or stolen, they started to wear out and their parts started to have problems, so they started using spare parts from other manufacturers. So a white torgue pistol was a Harold at its best, but the bad guys started fixing them as best they could and learned over time how to reverse engineer them.
bruh imagine going from the best weapon in the game to white crap you sell to get something else
In every borderlands game except 3 legendaries were just purple rarity gear with special effects
It was like this in Borderlands 3 too until patches made a lot of legendaries do increased damage instead of actually fixing the damage scaling overall
My absolute favorite part about COV weapons is how many of them are assembled with parts from BL2 guns. Such a great idea.
Get your facts straight.
the borderlands series are some of the games of all time
So true

@@LFXGaming that was another idea, Dahl rocket burst or the helix-style rotating rockets from 1
3:38 there is one thing to say about them
*AHEM*
If it took more than one shot, you weren’t using a Jakobs
Im suprised you never really mentioned how from borderlands 1 to borderlands 2/tps, that jakobs went from slow firing, to incredible fast firing - often being faster then you could pull the trigger, i feel it made significant difference between the two, as it went from a slow firing, methodical playstyle, to a much faster paced, guns blazing sort of gun - i know this was likely to accommodate for borderlands 2's more intensive gun-play, but still worth a small mention
Fun fact; In bl3 Torque actually makes a laser gun! The flavor text even references how they do not like lasers
First video I've seen of yours. Made me laugh out loud on multiple occassions. GG nice commentary, editing and personality.
35:58 Oh my God that's beautiful, the cabal from the Destiny video game series would love torque weapons.
no gearbox? time to redo the whole entire video!
fuuuuuuuuuuuuu..... but nah i wanted to only cover weapons available in every version of each game, ik the GOTY enhanced had them but in the end i decided not to, hope you can forgive me :o
@@LFXGaming Would the gearbox guns be interesting enough to go over in a short video?
@@LFXGaming In the regular game you can find the Rider under New Haven that is a gearbox gun.
@@brandonkoppes2950 you can also get a gearbox weapon in the final circle of duty mission.
the game once gave me a double anarchy with 71 accuracy, but still 4x200+ damage, which is pretty ridiculous.
You may not like Tediore, but Axton chucking them is the fastest way to kill most raid bosses.
I just noticed that the water pistol is a Dhal one too with the COV cooldown animations
You find an Eacho from Marcus saying he gave the bandit's all the old S and S guns
10:53 you got possesed by the spirit of Mr Torgue
I once found a Torque shotgun in Borderaland 2 that was double barrel and with stickies it just went BAM BAM, reload, POPOPOPOPOPOPOP. Most satisfying shit ever.
Man you forgot the gearbox manufacture in bl 1 ):
12:09 To answer that question: refer to the side quest in BL2 in the caustic caverns pushing a minecart full of eridium while tannis gives you a lore dump
TLDR: The reason why these bandits were able to make these weapons is because a majority of them were originally a part of some of the other Gun manufacturing companies that were originally present on Pandora during BL1 who fled the scene after shit got wack and promptly abandoned any and all personnel that were still left on the planet.
Keep at it, my man, I can't wait to see what you do next!
thank you man i really appreciate it! im working on something big rn taking my time so hopefully youll enjoy that!
Oh its so funny you mention internet historian now that his plagiarism is known and all of the videos in this series are so HEAVILY plagiarized as well
I did the underdome achievements. This ain't long, mate.
In lore the reload thing was so cheaply done the gun would explode in your hands instead
The basic premise in dev logs was suppose to be a weapon brand so bad your better off throwing it instead
i have a sneaking suspicion that, in some cases, the "broken ice cream machine" thing is probably just employees deciding to turn it off so they dont have to make icecream.
in any case, im sure they are poorly made, as i work in fast food myself and we constantly deal with broken equipment.
I like how each of the manufacturers for the guns has different reloading systems, like how Hyperion guns have the weird opening for putting the mags in, while Jakob's guns, like their sinper rifles and revolvers have the classic revolving chamber clip.
(I don't know too much about guns, so sorry if I got any of the gun terms wrong or how they work)
It took me until my 3rd Borderlands 3 playthrough to understand some of these changes...no Hyperion pistols? SO LAME.
DUDE EXACTLY. My best/favorite weapons in bl2 were sick ass little hyperion pistols. So badass with the little fins/wings coming off the gun.
I can’t believe I recognized the background music from the start as that in the Motorstorm extras menu. That’s awesome.
Ayyyyye so cool to see someone recognising it! glad people still remember motorstorm
The bl2 Dahl is kinda replicated in Destiny, there is a gun called the Suros Regime, which when you are hip firing, it is fast, when you ADS it is slower with more damage. Definitely not the same but I think it is the closest comparative?
The stinger and bulldog in Valorant work identically to BL2 Dahl weapons
Getting a gun that shoots a sword that explodes into grenades is kind of a plus. I love these games.
the swordsplosion is possibly the best idea of a gun ive seen, i would wanna be in whatever kind of drunken board room meeting that was invented in, "yo so you know explosions are cool or whatever but like EXPLODING SWORDS, now THAT is something i can get behind"
39:30 Well yeah, as Moze herself says when introducing herself to Claptrap, she used to be a soldier in the Vladof army, so that's why her gameplay in particular is so based, and so based around recreating that scene in The Godfather starring Sonny Corleone.
11:30 surprisingly in borderlands three they found out how to make lasers explode
"if me gun dont go brrr then i dont want it"- john vladof
"if it took more than one shot, you weren't using a Jakobs" fave quote of all of the manufacturers. and part of why i love their guns.
Also apparently her full name is Moserah Hayussinian Yan-Lun al-Amir Andreyevna, so yeah, maybe shortening it to Moze was a good idea.
seeing how Gaige is the only character I've played to any real length I'm routinely tripped out watching people actually aiming their guns at things
Gotta love how Tediore went from pretty standard gun to walking-talking-throw-me-away-and-I-explode insanity.
Vladof: everything is gatling gun
Torgue: It's all about the boom
Hyperion: Just shoot and watch the enemy disappear
COV: Metro guns with anger issues
6:00 Even in BL1 they were "exploding micro-missiles". You see how the numbers on your screen shooting with them are yellow instead of white? That's explosive damage.
The explosions just weren't big enough.
Non-canon Dahl explanation:
A lidar/infrared sensor detects your face as you approach the scope. Once a certain threshold is hit, the device switches to burst.
It's funny i was so young when i first hopped on 2 (or any borderlands game anyways) i HATED hyperion weapons and never even wanted to pick one up . Because they felt bad to me ? No , because HYPERION BAD.
Kinda based
I hated hyperion weapons because of that god awful accuracy. Except for shotguns, hyperion shotguns are usually pretty good.
@@Gash_Kobeth until You get firerate+ perk of your character and achieve max accuracy in 0,5 secs on a pistol😎👍
I've hated every Hyperion weapon in Bl3 except for their rapid-fire shotguns.
@@Gash_Kobeth they have great accuracy lol what
Have to say, im a Jacob's guy. A single shot hits like a truck, accurate, and fires as fast as you can pull the trigger. Learn how to use the recoil to aim, supplement with scatter grenades, and you are wiping out whole platoons in one go.
Scatter grenades work with everything
Dhal
Malawian
Valdof
Cov
Atlus
And toruge are personally my manufacturers in the whole series
It's actually crazy you didn't spell a single one of those right
@thekapp2862 sorry I suck at spelling and I was remembering the names on the top of my head
I only wish that games going forward had legacy weapons that were callbacks to the older ones in the series. Even though S&S doesn't make guns, you would still be able to find them in their original format... Same with eridian. My favorite weapon in all of the games was the eridian thunder shotgun.
An OP Tediore carried me through BL3, if you can believe it.
There's also the theory that Athena took over Hyperion and made it so that they stopped making pistols because of the integrated shield design
You’re way too slept on bro, that might be the best video I’ve watched in a long time only rivaling isahooten’s terraria comparisons.
10:51 I'm sure Mr Torgue Flexington appreciates you letting him take part in this video.
