I would trust Walz if he ever has to be president. We would be in good hands. And "weird" is a tremendously kind way for him to describe what the Republicans and Project 2024 are promoting. Clearly Walz is trying to be tactful, which is also a good ability to have when governing. That quality has been totally lost in most "leaders" these days. What can one say about someone who openly plans to take over various branches of government (a dictator), in violation of the Constitution? I would have gone with "crazy, scary, and dangerous to the continuation of America." What tactful thing can one say about a candidate who said perhaps we should just get rid of the Constitution? A guy who tried to overthrow an election with fake electors? Who still spouts such nonsense even after all the Republican judges found no evidence of it whatsoever? I can think of a lot more accurate terms than "weird." Yet he's trying to be tactful. Mature. I sense Walz would be a grownup, as Kamala is. We wouldn't worry about needing a grownup in the room to explain to our president why he can't just nuke a country - or a storm - because it annoys him. He would read the briefs his advisors have carefully prepared, listen and discuss options, rather than ignore their expertise. I say let's be sure the executive and legislative and judicial branches are filled with mature, ethical adults. People who think, listen, work hard, can talk things out and work out compromises for the people. People mature enough to understand negotiation, who understand and believe in American basic principles, who actually care about the majority of Americans, since all people in government are supposed to be in service to the people. Walz would set a very good example for what is possible.

Walz seems to be an honestly down to earth person - you can feel it in his energy. Seriously, tune into him. Rare as that has become in politics these days, sadly (we have more third graders in adult bodies trying to somehow govern America these days as if it's a playground of vengeful cliques led by bullies). America needs its sanity and maturity back. I don't assume his normalcy is a persona (mask), I think Walz understands most of us, the majority of Americans who believe in the American basics: upholding the Constitution (not having a dictator and losing the right to vote ever after), freedom of speech (not having hundreds of thousands of people put into gulags), freedom of opportunity, fairness, women's right to make decisions with their doctors about their own medical care. He cares about the well-being of the American people, those of us who are sane and not aiming for a Christian Taliban situation. We need the middle class to be restored, we need hunger to be addressed and the wealth divide tremendously reduced. We need healthcare we can afford. We need to be able to buy a house, as our parents and grandparents had the ability to do. Too much has gone awry in America already, and a blustering bully who wants total power, who rambles and changes his position every other day, is not someone who can accomplish that. I would trust Walz if he ever has to be president. We would be in good hands.
And "weird" is a tremendously kind way for him to describe what the Republicans and Project 2024 are promoting. Clearly Walz is trying to be tactful, which is also a good ability to have when governing. That quality has been totally lost in most "leaders" these days. What can one say about someone who openly plans to take over various branches of government (a dictator), in violation of the Constitution? I would have gone with "crazy, scary, and dangerous to the continuation of America." What tactful thing can one say about a candidate who said perhaps we should just get rid of the Constitution? A guy who tried to overthrow an election with fake electors? Who still spouts such nonsense even after all the Republican judges found no evidence of it whatsoever? I can think of a lot more accurate terms than "weird." Yet he's trying to be tactful. Mature. I sense Walz would be a grownup, as Kamala is. We wouldn't worry about needing a grownup in the room to explain to our president why he can't just nuke a country - or a storm - because it annoys him. He would read the briefs his advisors have carefully prepared, listen and discuss options, rather than ignore their expertise. I say let's be sure the executive and legislative and judicial branches are filled with mature, ethical adults. People who think, listen, work hard, can talk things out and work out compromises for the people. People mature enough to understand negotiation, who understand and believe in American basic principles, who actually care about the majority of Americans, since all people in government are supposed to be in service to the people. Walz would set a very good example for what is possible.
