I don't think it's gona play out like that. You guys forget how hard of a puncher Poirier is, and he only wobbled Max a few times, and Poirier has finished all of his latest opponents. And Max has great boxing, Justin has a suspect chin. He recovers very fast, but he gets rocked multiple times, by clean shots in every fight. I think Max might outbox and outpoint him 👍🏾👍🏾 Max took Dustin's punches, and Dustin knocked out alvarez and Justin couldn't.
People writing off Max but I think he has a good chance here. Justin looks horrible when guys put him on his heels and he wings shots and gasses out quickly when being backed up. If Max can back him up and break him down with body shots, he's got this

I love and respect Max Holloway. Its a shame but you can see the damage he has accumulated has started to take its tol especially after the Poirier fight.
Max is a volume puncher and the chances of him knocking out Gaetje is slim. But the biggest problem is Justin hits like a truck.
Max is going to get damaged badly I see it going the Tony Ferguson route after the fight.
Its a damn shame if Max retired now he will be heading straight to the Hall of Fame. A legendary fighter.

I’m impressed with gaethjes career. When I first started watching him in wsof he would take a shit ton of damage and even when he came over took a lot of damage. He evolved after a couple L’s and I think it prolonged his career. I’m kinda surprised he still ballin considering his style and mindset back then.

One thing overlooked here is Gaethje cardio - I can see him flagging in Round3 and Max finishing him with a load of combos in Rd4 or Rd5.

Holloway is still young. Hes been in some wars yes but he has put on clinics. The only person to really stop him at his best has been Volk and thats nothing to be ashamed of. I think if Gaethje takes this if its in the first couple rounds. After that Holloway finds his rythm and runs away with it towards the end. But this has FOTN written all over it

Power beats volume more often than not. We saw this against poirier. We saw this with Justin vs a prime Tony Ferguson. Max is going to have to be the superior technician for five rounds. Not saying he has no chance, but it's unlikely.

This is a fantastic fight. Maybe Gaethje has a better variety of kicks and more power. But Holloway's pace and volume and strategic wisdom are an equaliser.

I think stats show that Max has taken the highest or close to the highest amount of strikes in the ufc. His chin is almost too good, probably should've been ko'ed plenty times but kept eating shots.

Max has got the better boxing technique, but Justin is just an absolute beast. Everything he throws is with bad intentions. This fight could go either way and one of the fights I’m most excited for. When it comes to Islam though, I think he starches both of them. Dude is in his prime with increasingly better striking. His wrestling is next level and I can’t see someone beating him any time soon. Should be a dumb UFC 300 and I can’t wait!

Max Holloway has beaten some of the best fighters in the world. He has been a world champion. It's that mindset that drives a fighter like Max to believe he can beat anyone. Realistically he doesn't have the skill set to beat Islam Makhachev. Taporia has the skill set but unfortunately, he's too small for Isam.
