Chimaev broke his hand in the Usman fight didn't he? Pretty reasonable explanation as to why he slacked off against Usman in rounds 2 + 3
Usman and Burns were even more tired than Khamzat. Not one opponent has had better cardio to date, so this theory has zero legs to stand on.
He can fight 5 rounds if he paces himself. But if he paces himself - bobby knuckles will be picking him apart from distance.

How do people forget that khamzat went 3 hard rounds with gilbert and was the fresher fighter at the end. He didn't gas against usman. He had a broken hand. Look at what happened to gilbert against belaal with a broken hand. The pace slowed all the way down. But we'll see what happens. I'm excited for this match.

I think that this lack of a gas tank in Usman fight is a wrong narrative cause no one is mentioning that he broke his hand in that first round. Imo, that was the main issue in the second and third round. Not the gas tank. Excited about the Bobby Knuckles fight tho!

JDM broke his arm and didn't slow down like Kumquat.
And it's literally the only time we seen him truly gas out. He went 3 rounds in the Burns fight which was an absolute war and he was actually the fresher fighter heading into the third, Showed tremendous composure and set a great pace, Ultimately winning him the fight.
Khamzat dealt with a very bad covid and I believe he even got surgery on his lungs so absolutely normal for him to have a crappy gas tank.
After seeing what Chimaev did to Gerald Meerschaert in 17 seconds and then seeing him carrying Li Jingliang around the octagon like he was his newborn son, I thought "what the fuck!!" "This guy is a fucking problem". And then I saw the Burns fight and I seen what happens when he doesn't knock you out with first punch, or is'nt able to land or finish you on that first take down. He is human. And the man has a massive ego. If you avoid the first takedown/submission attempt and can bait him into trading with you, you CAN knock him out. I believe his last fight Usman could've won easy if he had more than 10 days to prepare. Robert Whittaker can do this. He's just gotta weather the early storm.

In a bit of contrast though, Rob's broken his right hand twice. Once against Rafael Natal and again against Yoel and he keeps throwing it. I remember he said it feels 'squishy' to punch with a broken hand which always stuck with me hahaha
After Burns, Chimaev either didn't take the 'gas tank' talk seriously or he did and didn't take Usman seriously. Either way, if he hasn't done something about it since Usman, then we will see that become a major issue in his fight against Whittaker. I am honestly a fan of Chimaev and I would like to see him win this fight, but personally I believe that Adesanya and/or Strickland are much easier fights for Khamzat and this fight will tell us whether he finally took his 'gas tank' seriously or not.
Also... the only people to beat Whittaker since 2014 is the current champion (DDP) and the former dominant champion (Israel Adesanya)!!! And I honestly believe if Whittaker was 100% going into the DDP fight, the outcome would've been drastically different. Lets fucking go Mr. Knuckles!!! You got this!!!

Chimaev gassing always gets overstated. He slows down and can't maintain his round 1 pace. No one could do that. But he doesn't gas out to the point that he becomes defenseless and he is able to recover. We've seen him pretty exhausted in the second round twice, but then in the third he's been no more tired than his opponent.
Sean not getting the rematch IS kinda bullshit. It was a bullshit decision. Sean did way more damage. Dricus just looked flashier. Style won over substance. Sean should get a title shot even if he doesn't get the immediate rematch. At most he should be 1 win away from it.

I doubted Whittaker once against Acosta and after that performance I will always root for Whittaker . I truly think Khamzat is in for a long night and if he tries to pace himself , Whittaker will break him down strategically . When Acosta tried to bait him into a brawl , Whittaker remained disciplined and followed the gameplan. It will be a action packed fight for the first 3 round then Whittaker will take Khamzat into deep waters. Don't get me wrong , I like Khamzat but he doesn't have the same resume as Whittaker and I believe Usman exposed Khamzat's weaknesses.

What a great card! Mr. Bisping... I pretty much always agree with your assessments. Chimaev is an absolute killer that could absolutely blow his load if he doesn't learn to pace himself. I don't think it's a body type issue with Chimaev. I just think it's just Chimaev's approach in fighting. You know exactly what he's gonna do. It's not a secret. He wants to take u down and smash on you and he's gonna go full steam ahead. He's that good and it's worked so far. He's a top contender now so he needs to he needs to expect the possibility of a 5 round war. I think Usman could have turned things around with another additional 2 rounds. Chimaev needs to pace himself.

People underestimate Whittaker too much. He is one of the greatest middleweights ever. Adesanya was just a bad match for him, he otherwise cleaned the division the same way Izzy did. In the Chimaev - Burns fight. I sooo wanted to give that fight to Burns, a man that should end up in the hall of fame. But Chimaev did out class Burns and won. Even though he was not 100% focused on the finish. He had hell to pay from his coach for it. Burns has never been one to play with. He is as world class as it gets. Chimaev did play with him at a cost. With all that being said. Whittaker is world class and tested like Burns, BUT Whittaker is a level above Burns and that is hard to say. Just as Usman was a level above Burns. Usman and Whittaker are very close to same level. Hair splitting close. Chimaev is right on that level even when he is playing around. If Chimaev gets serious no one in the 2 weight classes can stop him. Usman and Whittaker included. But if he toys with Whittaker at all hands down he will loose. If Chimaev plays even a tiny bit. Whittaker will eat him. If Chimaev gets his act together and stays all business. Whittaker will add another loss to his record. Chimaev just wanted a good test with Burns and Usman and he beat them. That is the key to this fight. Which Khamzat show up to fight Whittaker will determine the winner. No one on the planet can play with Whittaker.

But if he gasses out his last fight so I think they all people think wrong for his estamna because his incidentally broke his thumb or hand in round 2. Otherwise he is the beast and dominating Usman complete 2 rounds. and he will submit or knock out the Robert I'm sure. and this time khamzat will be prepared for 5 round war but I think he finished to Robert in 2nd round and after that he takes the ufc gold from dricus.
