This was one of my most enjoyable RC experiences this year! Getting this road worthy again was so much fun! Parts are still available as well as upgrades and even though this may be classed as a vintage buggy now it still performs like a lot of its modern rivals! Want to see more old school nitros on the channel? Epic fun! 👍😎
Come on man... grow a pair and stop acting like a female... It's about the cars, not you... Sure its fun to run with friends... but in the end ... it's about what we love about the hobby... and it's not drama@@simonsday2840
Love to see those old engines starts after 10+ years. Don't know why but it's really satisfying for me. Feels like a time machine were I been transported to the best days of my life 🥰
Nice to see an older OFNA roar back to life! My hyper 8.5 been converted to BL. I love the nitro too but I'm glad to have done the conversion so I can run it in front of my house where I do 80% of my RC play. Well done, it brought back memories of my nitro days, I spent the time racing my hyper 8 but I had one of those old HSP 1/10 that were for nitro speed rips! lol. Cheers and keep up the good work!
Just restored a Hong Nor HODR 1/8 scale buggy with a RB Concepts S7(Before the WS7-II) Give that one a try and good luck on parts. The differentials are a trip, and are not sealed. You don't use a medium silicone diff lube, it will just pour out, you use lock lube in a 500,000wt range. Reload the diffs after 1/2 gallon burned. It took 3 years to finish. Most of that was waiting on Ebay and the like to wait for parts available. Right at $550 to complete. A nostalgia buggy from a racer friend long since past who won with it all the time. Was VERY cool to see it spit rocks again. The customer was very happy. I still have my Paul Coleman Racing Ofna Hyper 7, with 8 spider center diff, from about 2004-05.
hello you cant beat the sound the smell and the power of a nitro engine. you got that car for a steal myself i am buying second hand electric and nitro cars and its the fun of stripping them down cleaning and restoring them to their full potential. great video more like this please. peter
Hi Rick Look forward to seeing these old beauty's coming back to life. As I do like to do the same and buy second hand cars and try and get them back to their prime again. Peter
I just scored myself a mint Thunder Tiger Ts4n pro v2 for only £50.! The owner said he ran it twice & then it "broke" 😉 so he put it in the garage & forgot about it for 15 years.! I gave it a quick strip down & oiled the oily bits, fitted modern electronics, cleaned the fuel system & carb, fitted a new #8 glow plug & it fired up immediately.!! The only thing I needed to actually buy was fuel & a new charger for my glow starter because I couldn't find mine, I already had everything else lying around.!!. I cannot tell you how exited I was to drive a nitro again after years & years of running only electric RCs.! It was GLORIOUS.!! Not very fast.. But absolutely glorious.! The sound, the smoke, the process... Amazing.! I can't believe that I actually decided that I was finished with nitro... I'M NOT FINISHED AT ALL.!!! I'M HOOKED ON NITRO AGAIN.!!! Dimitri has a new gang member.!!! As always.. Stay safe out there mate & best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️
dude this is cool! I've never owned or driven one of these nitro,s! Don/t think a few of my neighbors would like this very much!😂 Just goes to show what a little TLC can do and for not much money at all! really love how this turned out. those brilliant white wheels and knobby tires finished it all off nicely! very well done! And you didnt even need to time travel!🤣
Got to experience nitro bro!! They are a pain sometimes to get running/tuning/maintenance but the excitement is awesome! The high pitched sound of a screaming nitro engine is the best!! Wish more people would return to nitro but sadly electric is king these days! Haha cheers man!!
Hi, Im picking up a hyper 7 roller, I have a hobby wing rebranded 120amp esc and 3100 kv motor, I have also bought a Dumbo fd350 transmitter and receiver,, looking forward to my first proper tinkering about. Can I ask what are the wheels you have put on the Nito model you bought back to life? Thanks
Liked it as it also brings me memories from the older nitro kyoshos. if you want rc fun go for nitro but you need quite double the time to enjoy.. if you want 15minutes of fun, go electric.. Thanks mate
Thats the thing. Most people opt for electric now as no mess, no fuss, no tuning, plug and play.. Shame but nitro is sadly not as popular as it once was :(
@@beyondRC true, they're super expensive though and with most electrics being geared to the absolute Limit for normal driving, there are usually some cooldown breaks
God that thing was screaming!! Obv with 1/5 scale rcs you’re best running a proper fail safe that kills spark as servos do fail. I had a Killer RC on my 1/5 scale and one on my Losi 1/8 nitro buggy too and that fail safe would cut fuel.
My uncle used to race nitro buggies when i was growing up. They are so much more gripping then electric, but I was privy to hours of wrenching and cursing at small parts to ever tip my hat in that ring .
I wonder what parts and upgrades would be needed to have specs similar to the Hyper 7.5 by using a Hyper 7 TQ2 as the base. The 20mm Big Bore shocks might not be possible to get but almost everything else should be or have an equivalent version. Any thoughts?
@@beyondRC it does indeed. I've had a couple of bargains recently. The best being, £30 for a used FTX Kanyon!! Fully working, but filthy. An hours cleaning, and it looked great. Guess who pinched it off me? Yep!! My 10yo!! He loves a bargain as well!! 😆

Awesome grab. I love nitro's I still have 2. There about 29 years old. I've kept them running and still drive them. Nothing like nitro.
I used to race for OFNA who imported them to the USA. Hyper 9E electric was the last competive chassis 1/8 scale buggy we ran.
