Picking an RC car as your first RC car as a beginner is no easy task which is why im hoping this video comes in handy and gives you some ideas about what is the best RC car to go for when just starting out!

Expanding a little on why ROG1 is no.1. There is no other truck out there from major brands or cheap Chinese brands that offer this level of performance. 48mph out the box on 3s is crazy and that's speeds the ARRMA Grom range can only dream of! Rlaarlo have made a massive comeback after issues they previously had with some of their older models and shipping etc. Some channels reported durability issues and snapped driveshafts but lets remember no RC truck is made to be run at skateparks and any car that is will break at some point. Is a skatepark durability test (as seen on other channels) required to tell me this is an awesome truck? Absolutely not and since owning mine i have never replaced anything on it as i run at 'Normal' bashing locations such as those you see in my vids. Now some may say that's boring.. Look we all enjoy our toys differently. For the massive majority that dont run at skateparks especially BEGINNERS the ROG1 will tick every box just turn the power down a little!
If you are a beginner and want to run at skateparks get a HBX 16889 and i will be shocked if you do break it! Enjoy!
Have you done a video on the Mjx 16207 the buggy basher looking one it solves the stability issue on the smaller scale (1:16) and also comes with a 3s LiPo!

Have you had a chance to look at the “clones” from ZD Racing and JIUSI? The JIUSI comes with more batteries and a better charger for the same price. As far as I can tell the trucks are mostly identical.
I am a recent arrival to the rc hobby. My first was an hbx 16889a pro and i was not disappointed for 90 dollars.
My next purchase was a hbx 2997a and just yesterday I ordered an arrma granite 3s blx for 250.
Pretty happy with all of them. Havent broken anything on them yet. Even had the 16889a fully submerged in a creek and it just kept on going.
My almost 4 year old son is enjoying them too. Races me with his hopped up power wheels running on a drill battery.
Rlaarlo is just killing it recently. Thanks for the list!

@beyondRC did they fix the ROG1 driveshaft issue yet?
I expect they are making them stronger. From what i have seen they were snapping but the tests were being conducted by other channels at skateparks which always break cars regardless of brand. Is running a fairly heavy 1/14th truck made mostly from metal components at a skateparks a sensible thing to do? I wont criticise other channels but most know my take on skateparks and i just dont see how they are a good test for RC cars. There is way more to RC cars than durability. Anyone who reviews an RC car at a skatepark, breaks it then calls it bad is a fool IMO.

I will try but the problem is the UK always get stuff late especially ARRMA/Traxxas! Rest assured you will be seeing a mini maxx on the channel. Well at some point.. Haha

@@frazersarson9549 Madness. The US channels are always looked after when it comes to Arrma/Traxxas the UK channels are forgotten about sadly. Its not even about 'Free' if it was offered i would even pay to get cars earlier than i do lol

Does 1/12 scale really matter that much over the Terminator being a 1/10 its actually more nimble

Many questions could be asked here. Easy to work on? Easy to maintain? Easy to set up and run? They all have their good/bad points this vid is based more on value for money, performance for the money and fun factor. There is nothing else out there that can offer ROG1 performance for the money $150. Name one truck from a well known RC brand that offers the same? The Grom Range could have been a Chinese RC car killer with a brushless system RTR and competitive pricing instead we got $150 trucks that do 20mph out the box and are boring as hell.. same as the vorteks/fury/gorgon. Slow, boring and begging for brushless. Everything a beginner doesn't want to do as soon as they get comfortable. I wish i could push big brand budget options to the top but if they offer sub par performance compared to Chinese cars i am left with no choice. People want the most fun,performance, durability and good looks for their money and the ROG1 tops the lot.. Slow and boring sadly doesn't keep peoples interest in the hobby and i wish Arrma and big brands would take note and make cars that perform similar to the chinese cars for similar money or slightly more. Who wants brushed in 2024 :/
@@beyondRC i want a truck that handles good and is easy to work in do you really think the mojave grom needs brushless? it will flip if it has its not wide as the typhon grom
and the 2wd vorteks will have a lot of torque steer
@@politie_jip112 the Groms or anything Arrma in fact are easy to work on. Nothing wrong with them but they are so slow and i found them a little boring to drive and craved more power. Of course you can make them brushless, upgrade shafts and diffs but then you have spent over 300 and could have got a 1/10 lol
@@beyondRC the best rc car is the 1 you have with you and can rely on that it doesnt break small not to fast incase of small spaces needs to handle variable terrain

Not sponsored. Okay rich do me a favour and name 3 better options over ROG1 for $159 you seem to be confident there is better out there so can you kindly expand on what they are? or forget about ROG1 entirely. Just 3 beginner options you would pick.

I have to be inclusive. The 6-10 choices are all fine and worthy beginner choices but the cars higher up on the list offer a bit more for the money. Could say why include the other 9 if ROG1 is no.1. Same difference 😂
ROG1 is even smaller than the Terminator and not as good looking

the new traxxas mini maxx looks promising but of course its $250.
