Aloha, thank you, thank you, thank you. There are no words to express the incredible energy and beauty of EVERYTHING in that glorious haven of history.
Merci de partager avec nous votre enthousiasme, votre goût pour les belles choses, vos connaissances et votre tenacité à réaliser et redonner toute leur splendeur à des lieux que le temps avait pratiquement rendu "invisibles". Thanks a lot for everything!
I love those architectural salvage places - here in Canada buildings aren't usually as old as chateaux but it's good to see the best parts of buildings preserved when the buildings themselves can't be. Don't let Billy see that spiral staircase.
😳😯Ed & Anna! Has Billy seen that wood spiral staircase in the beginning of the video?! it would be perfect in the chapel leading to the choir loft they are going to restore!!!! 😍
What a wonderful adventure this was. Yusuf is a delight and what he has in his store is more than amazing. I can't wait for the transformation of the abandoned house as a precursor to the next huge project. So exciting. Thanks for taking us along.
Edd, I think the spiral staircase is perfect for Billy Petherick’s convent chapel. I love antique salvage businesses. The pieces are magnificent and knowing they will have a new life in someone’s home is wonderful, though it is sad that so many beautiful chateaus that housed these treasures were torn down or deteriorated from being abandoned. Joussef has a very special business. Thank you for the tour. xx
Thank you Edd and Anna for taking us with you antiquing. He has some extraordinary pieces. The fireplaces were beautiful. I’m excited to see you begin the new build, I know you will turn into something amazing.
Everything there is so beautiful. Since we've got very little even close in the USA, I'm in awe. It's so sad to think of the places these used to belong being gutted, possibly gone. They must have been incredible in their time. Seeing Edd imagining their original state brings them back to life for a moment.
Actually, there are still many beautiful places still intact in Bordeaux and elsewhere in France. We lived on the Quai des Chartrons, 5 minutes from les Quinconces, all of the buildings are really beautiful and most of them still have all the original features. Bordeaux is a stunning city.
I have been waiting for you to take us with you to Youssef's French Salvage Yard. I could spend hours wandering through there. What a lot of amazing pieces. As soon as I saw the spiral staircase I thought of Billy and his need for one for the convent. You only showed the one statue, but I spied a couple more on the other side as you came in, and again thought of Billy and the convent. The tapestry and mirror, I thought of Terry and Ash and their chateau restoration, Escape to the Dream, plus the paneling for their grande salon, although it maybe a bit too tall. I could probably find something for each of the chateau restoration vlogs I follow. 🙂 Thank you, Edd and Anna for bringing us along.
Only thing that may be wrong for Billy is I don't think it is tall enough. I wondered if he would be interested in the statue. I think it looked like Joseph holding Jesus. wasn't the convent St Joseph Convent?
@@karenniehues4786I think you are right about the old convent’s name. And the chapel at LaLande (Château Diaries) is also dedicated to Saint Joseph. As for the stairs, Billy could build a base with steps.
What a treasure trove… I’d spend hours looking at everything. Amazing items. Thank you to Youssef for saving them for future use. Wonderful historical collection
Anna & Ed I just love your channel, you are always presenting interesting content & give us a glimpse of your life in France, your love of renovating & restoration is infectious! Can't wait for the 'reno' of the abandoned house to begin. 😀
Thank you ever so much Ed and Anna for taking us along for this journey. I really do enjoy the two of you and I enjoy when the renovations are going on and Anna when you're doing the weddings. It's wonderful. God bless your family❤ and will continue to follow you as you endeavor and climb the refurbishing of these old buildings that people don't give a second look to congratulations you two. Your fantastic
I enjoyed the tour of this architectural salvage store, I love them. During my days of restoring many historic homes I found so many need items. I still go to them just to look at the beautiful bits of history. Blessings.
Aubusson is a very famous carpet and tapestry maker his quality and details are just magnificent and it was a very interresting trip lovey and yes please let billy know about the staircase 😊😊😊
I don't know if anyone else had the problem but when you were in the antique store , your camera was jerking like it was in slow motion. This stuff is absolutely beautiful. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
Billy Pethrick is looking for a spiral staircase for the convent. Apparently there is an area where there use to be one and he has often said that he would like to restore one back in the same place.
What a fabulous place to shop. The fireplaces are super, the sculpture of Jesus and child was beautiful. What a nice addition for the château that Billy is renovating but the cost is too much. Signed too, probable worth it. The stuff France has in all these places are wonderful. Nothing like them in the states and always so high in prices. Thank you both and so nice seeing you both and knowing your feeling better.
Architectural salvage places like this have always caused me to wonder what amazing structures they came from. Hope you guys return and find something a new home.
Good morning from the beautiful SF Bay Area. Wow is all I can say. We don't see much of that here in California and if you do find it forget it, the prices will be only for the richest of the rich. Glad to see you well and out and about. Looking forward to seeing the renovation begin on that hovel you bought. Loads of love. 😁
Love seeing all these architectural pieces! Ed, please reconsider the use of music while you’re speaking. I don’t have hearing challenges but was having difficulty understanding what you were saying because the music was distracting. And hearing challenged people like my husband often can’t filter out the music to hear well.
Strange that the camera would make the shutter speed longer to get the right exposure instead of increasing ISO, you should look at the settings if it was in auto mode when it did this.. anyway lovely place and owner, thanks for sharing :)
Edd, Anna my darlings. What a beautiful warehouse full of antiques that would make any house into a palace. Glorious furnishings. Looking forward to seeing how you will furnish the old place. Until next time. Take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺👍😇🌈🌹🕊❤️🇺🇸🙏🌞
4500 is a steal for that beauty! I have been waiting for this video! I remember you asking if we would be interested in tagging along with you to the Architectural Salvage !!! 🤗💗🦊 Billy could use a trip to this place to add some statuary to the convent! oooh that Aubousson tapestry!! so much yummy stuff! I would never leave!
Edd and Anna this is a fantastic video. Love shopping with you guys. Ya explain everything and take your time. I can’t wait till you start on the house you bought. You two make it all so interesting. I enjoy all you do do much. Have the best rest of the week. 😀
So glad you went to this place looking for works for your new project. I can see you coming back to here with measurement once you know better for the new project. So very interesting and I saw lots that would make the new project a beautiful place to buy in the future. Best.
I had to watch again. There were so many beautiful things there. My all time favorite was that last white and gold fireplace. That would be magical at Christmas with small children waiting for Santa. It is already magical for year round.❤
Hi Ed you know who really needs that stair case is Billy pethatrich I’m sure I’m misspelling it & I know you know who I mean if I just say Billy but he could probably use that for his convent. 😊😊😊 love your videos Stephanie New Mexico USA 🇺🇸
🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟What an episode !!! Excellent! So much fun. Historic and educational. It was like a journey into the past of beauty and craftsmanship. Just adore your site. Sending hugs to Anna the camerawoman. ❤❤❤❤❤Three cheers to Edd the host with the most. 💫✨💫✨💫Gorgeous spiral staircase. Amazing fireplace mantles.
Love architectural salvage especially old chapels and churches interiors. Are there more of this type of shop nearby where you could film more of this kind of antiques? I would love to see more tours like this.

Billy Petherick may be interested in the spiral staircase for when he does the two-story refractory in the convent.
I love those architectural salvage places - here in Canada buildings aren't usually as old as chateaux but it's good to see the best parts of buildings preserved when the buildings themselves can't be. Don't let Billy see that spiral staircase.

This video is better than many TV Programs. Thanks for the tour and imaginings.

Hey Edd - need to let Dan Preston at Escape to Rural France know about this place! He will be like a kid in a candy store as he restores Chaumont!
What a wonderful place to visit. Thank you, Youssef, for letting Edd and Anna film and talk about your collection.
Edd and Anna, there are so many beautiful things there. Thanks for bringing us along. I am glad you are well again.❤
That place is heaven, it would be really difficult not to convince yourself that you needed everything😁
Thank you Edd and Anna for taking us with you antiquing. He has some extraordinary pieces. The fireplaces were beautiful. I’m excited to see you begin the new build, I know you will turn into something amazing.

That Staircase could be something for Billys Convent Chapel.
I bought my bathroom sink from him for my appartement I’m renovating in St Pierre. It is cool to see his place. Cheers!
Edd, please tell your friends "The Pethericks" about the staircase you discovered. It would look fantastic in the convent.
Only thing that may be wrong for Billy is I don't think it is tall enough. I wondered if he would be interested in the statue. I think it looked like Joseph holding Jesus. wasn't the convent St Joseph Convent?

Edd, can’t recall with certainty, but isn’t Billy Petherick in need of a spiral staircase about four meters high?
Yes, possibly for the access to the upper level of the chapel at the convent
Yes! Was thinking the same thing I thought he needed 4 meters but he could put it on a base
I came to the comments just to see if anyone else thought if that!
Yup. Good catch. 👍
Yes I think he is
Yes! Let Billy know about that spiral staircase!!
Billy was looking for a spiral staircase!
Billy said a while ago that he would like to get a spiral staircase for the Convent Chapel. You should tell him about it.
Thanks for the chance to see all those beautiful items! The skill level of the artisans who created all of that must have been phenomenal!
He has so many awesomely beautiful items. Thank you all for sharing! All the best.
I felt like I was in a candy store....loved everything!
What a unique & interesting salvage yard. So many neat things. Thanks for sharing!
The radiators you showed are exactly what we have in our Victorian home here in the states. I didn’t realize how much they sold for. Wow
Aubusson is a very famous carpet and tapestry maker his quality and details are just magnificent and it was a very interresting trip lovey and yes please let billy know about the staircase 😊😊😊
Ed and Anna I love this type of video, you both do such a great job showing us around at these shops. So many beautiful things and great prices

All that stuff there he has is absolutely amazing and to have it remade today would cost you a fortune.🙂👍
Wasnt Billy needing a spiral staircases for the convent?
Amazing! It's like an aladins cave I would be in there for hours.

The first fireplace would have looked great in Billy’s convent kitchen
Wow, that white fireplace is stunning.
The stairs would be good for Billy Petherick and the covenant. He needs stairs to the bell tower.
This man and his wife are simply geniuses.
I see a spiral staircase for Billy's chapel at the convent
That crystal for the stair post reminded me when you bought the crystal finnels for your lovely chateau. Some nice pieces.
In my mind I have spent about 15ooo euros beautiful and that staircase a work of art!
So glad you went to this place looking for works for your new project. I can see you coming back to here with measurement once you know better for the new project. So very interesting and I saw lots that would make the new project a beautiful place to buy in the future. Best.
