I started using some stick baits but with the wind and cold water I felt the need to cast out into the channel in the middle of Lanecove river.. incomes a micro jig,
the 7g did the trick. I targeted the edge of a shallow sand flat and was quickly rewarded with bites and then a firm take, accompanied by some tight drag tikking.
Set up

nice job brother, i had looked at 8 foot flick rods, might have to get one, I tried a few micro jigs, probably jus the person casting the lures :D
the good old LRC is a good productive river. Nice fat horse, thats for sure, plus a few extras, well done
It's a great strategy, but it's very much a cast and move technique 👌 that was maybe cast two out that way before the hit

Got some of these 7g jigs from a link on one of your older videos, no luck on them yet but I also haven’t really played around with them enough either. Great for the price.
I think they are honestly the best bang for buck lure. The other thing with them being so cheap, you'll throw them places that have lots of structure without fear, and that's where the fish hide!
another great content bro! I've been micro jigging around upper parra for the exact same reason recently. Caught lots lots of flathead, some tailor and the rare whiting and bream. Lost a big lizard and had a jew smoked me. It's very effective even in really shallow water.
Seems like a great technique year round if you don't have a boat! I also always resort to the jig if the bite is tough
