A dear dear friend and a TRULY brilliant brain.
Absolutely one of a kind…I have cherished my friendship with this man for decades. One of the most interesting conversationalists I have ever known, and believe me I know some interesting conversationalists!

Hey Tom. Great video (as usual). I worked for Joe over 20yrs ago and built the back side of the building. Painted the walls, built workbenches, moved all those woods to the attic, etc. Joe trained me installing the B-bender and operate the Plek machine, too. Good old days. The guy who hooked me up with the job was…..young Uncle Larry. You connected me with so many great people in Nashville and you are still doing the same to so many people through this channel. So many people appreciate you including me. Rock on!

Joe Glaser is a national treasure for sure and his advice on living life to the fullest and seizing every day and every opportunity is so right. The first time I attended NAMM Joe flagged me and one of my guys down to say hi. I never met him before but I saw his name on his badge and instantly knew who he was, THE man at the top of his craft. Turns out he is also a really friendly guy! You can see from this video why he leaves such a positive impression with people. People like Joe remind you how great the guitar community really is.
Well great Uncle Lar, I just spent over 22 mins glued to my screen fascinated by Mr. Glaser's dang attic....man when got guitaritus like this it ain't funny any more hahaha! Bless ya Brother!

It’s people like Joe that have been central to the folklore around guitar and the scene in general.. without these catz we’d only have the corporate slant.. which is soulless.. god bless Joe and all the other individuals who’ve made a genuine contribution and continue to do so..
My old man was a luthier (retired) and this reminds me of his workshop. Ive been helping him sort through a bunch of old boxes he had tucked away and so far we’ve found a tonne of cool gear , bits and bobs and just cool vintage stuff. Everything from a box of old Tele “ashtrays”, to an early run cry baby Wah. Even found 1xPAF (albeit needs a bit of work). But the best part has been hearing some of his stories
THIS is quite an amazing honor!! You probably feel as honored as I did when he presented me my newly bender’d Paulonia “sponge caster” saying “This is a really special guitar!”

I was lucky enough to meet Joe and Bruce Bouton when I dropped off a guitar for a refret. Both so nice, treated me like I was a somebody and I’m a huge nobody. Great people. Bruce asked to pick up my guitar for a sec, and had me wait to walk out with me when I was leaving. And at the time I wasn’t familiar with who he was. I know this is nothing to a lot but it meant a lot to me. Sweet people!
The only thing I love as much as music are STORIES about music and the people and things that make it. You're a treasure trove. Appreciate it so much

Hey Unk, your videos have inspired me to become a better guitarist. I drove down to see Joe in June and had a Glaser B-Bender installed on my '06 sunburst Tele. Nicest guy around, got a shop tour and so stoked to be learning the bender. Thanks for turnin us on, Tom and Joe!

Fun video Tom. Joe Glaser... the pope of instrument building and repair. I often listen to and miss that Will Owsley is no longer with us. For those that aren't hip to Will... give his solo projects a spin, titled Owsley and The Hard Way. Good writing and playing.
I first heard his playing on, of all places, an Amy Grant CD that my wife bought. His playing definitely caught my ear. Great loss.
He said “you don’t know what you’re looking for but when you see it you know you’re there” - when I went there the first time to drop my guitar off for a bender appointment that’s exactly what I thought. Cool as hell that it’s yours now
I love places like this. Real treasure. Also, a bucket full of old screwdrivers smells like low tide in a Gold’s Gym locker room.
