I’ve got an early Morgan Tweed 20 that I love. I heard him talk about how the inspiration for came from a player who asked for its specs. Now that I know that was you behind this beautiful little beast, I love it even more! Cheers.
It's an Eico signal tracer with a "cat's-eye" display. I had and used one exactly like that in my dad's TV repair shop to troubleshoot problems in radios, audio problems in TV's, record players, stereos, etc., in south Knoxville. Wonder what ever happened to it? Maybe that's it? It turns out pretty much all audio amplifiers from these days (including Fender et al guitar amps) pretty much used the amplifier schematics found in the back of RCA tube manuals.
Haha…I must have picked up my TTE around the same time as you, cause mine was about $750 with extra tapes and the cleaning kit, etc. Funny thing is I wasn’t really looking for one, but when I saw that price I just had to jump on it! Thanks for the rig run down…lots of awesome amps and some quirky guitars thrown in as well. Was surprised not to see any of the standard Tele/strat/LP/335 stuff in the box. But hey, after that rubber bridge Stella video I’m starting to be drawn to the weirder side of the 6 string world. Keep evangelizing us on cool outside the box stuff 👍
I was stunned/thrilled to see the HX Effects on your board. I use one as well - love it, so flexible, has control abilities (midi, etc), takes up a bit of space, but can handle up to 9 effects/routing options - and that is one positive trade-off. Just found your channel, love your playing and insights.
Man, it's such a good amp. And there is a hidden boost feature that you can only access via footswitch. I have been thinking about doing a video on it.
Love the transitional amp years. I have a 67 Drip Edge Twin. Technically Silver panel amps didnt start til 68. Blackface internally. Love the sound. Those are some great amps you have. And Uncle Larry Lineage is cool too
Super jealous of your Bassman. Also, my Invader 50 arrived in the mail today. I just got done with the test run, in fact. I really enjoyed it even without any break-in. Got some great mid/late 60's british tones. Thick but still bright with a fairly open top end. I just got a Zilla super fatboy 2x12, and I'm waiting on a couple of ceramic Weber Silver Bells that I'm hoping I'll love. Now I kind of want to try a couple of WGS green berets in it.
FWIW: The original ‘61 6G6 Blonde Bassman was tube rectified (I have one) and came with the 1x12 “Tonering” cabinet. The 6G6-A was the same circuitry with a solid state rectifier, which turned out to be a poor pairing. The 6G6-B circuitry was modified to play nicer with the SS rectifier. The B is a workhorse and sounds great, but I prefer the tone of the original tube rectified version.
No disrespect. I use it every once in a while. It is the only PRS I own. I've just never really been into those guitars. I associate their sound with Creed and Nickelback. Maybe that's unfair. Haha!
@@JustinOstrander ha ha, fair enough man... I guess i associate them most with David Grissom, and the only models I really dig are his sig and the McCarty 594
Came here from the tele video. That had a little clickbait trickery. My first thought was you found some weed in that tele.. anyway Great content man. Great stuff. All about the song aspect. Love that. Cheers
can we talk about amp/cab switching? how do you audition different combinations? do you have to pull and repatch cables, or is there some kind of switching system? If so, how do you handle ground problems and impedance matching? Is there an option for the engineer to take the amps direct through an Ox Box or something? also, are your time based FX pre or post amplifier? If post, do you have them in some kind of loop? Thanks in advance, big fan here, I follow your channel and learn from it. PS: John B is at Tootsie's nearly every weekend. :-)
What?! No Tele at the studio? Thanks for sharing!! You forget the most important piece, The Rokin’ Soc. Is that yours or does the studio provide that, it’s become a piece of my set up for sure.
First, I go nowhere without the Biscuit. It was there with me. Secondly, that Roc N Soc is amazing. I have two of them. One stays in cartage with the A rig. 🤠
Pretty sure every guitar player that gets called is issued an RC Booster on their first session in Nashville. Can’t blame ‘em, though…Got one on my board, too…20 years later 🤷🏼♂️
@@JustinOstrander I'm glad there are lots of your playing and song-building videos, including the Papa sessions. They get watched multiple times, over a long period of time. Excellent reference content.
Jim Kelley amps are the real sleepers in the guitar world...theyre getting more expensive... but those are TOTALLY DUMBLY AMPS.... (and i own an handful of dumbles)... once people catch on, those things are going to go silly pricewise...
Justin, your videos are like vitamins. I need to watch one every day. Great content 😉
Agreed on the Bassman. My favorite amp of all. OMG, and the Bogner oversized 2x12 cab with it was my ultimate combo. What a coincidence.
Lovin this channel Justin. Very cool rig. Look forward to the board rundown!
Hey Justin! Best regards from Germany! I always follow your stuff trough YT. I love your wonderfull Tele! Great story and Sound! Rock On!
…i am out of metal and alternative, but your Sound brings me to think about musical boundaries…

A great look into the world I hope to join you in someday. Catch ya round nash mate!
Lil Tommy has all the gd stuff .Gotta love em .
Great video. Love a good “Rig Rundown”
Great stuff Justin , keep 'em coming brother ,been really diggin' the content you produce !😎👍
I just ordered a Jackson Audio Golden Boy after seeing it on your board. You know tone. Looking forward to the pedalboard rundown.
Thanks Justin! Very interesting insight, greetings from Jackson Wisconsin!

Love your wisdom
Would be great if you talk and demo on the Morgan J012.

Awesome! Yeah I keep the guitars I use the most with me. These are mostly extra flavors, but I do use them quite a bit.

Such a nice contrast with the home rig.
Nice riggins for the giggins! Cheers Justin!!
Jim Kelley amp makes my lip quiver. FYI Mike Campbell has one of those little oscilloscope/ Princetons also.

So much nice gear!!
Line 6 HX Effects. Great pedal.
It really is!
so good!! thanks for taking the time to make these. @premierguitar John B - do the rig run down!!

great vid, would've enjoyed a closer look, out of the boat, at the guitars though... but hey, why so meek about the PRS?

How can I/we get to hear some of the Muscle Shoals kind of stuff? I really enjoy your vids by the way...................

Bait? Yes. Trickery? Nope! Gotta play the UA-cam game to some extent, but I won't ever bait people into something that never pays off. :)
@@JustinOstrander offcourse. the video's are awesome. Great your doing this!
How is there so much session work in Nashville? Seems like thousands of songs are cut there everyday! Where does all that music end up?
UA-cam
I don’t know that there is so much of it; it’s just all being done by a very small community of people.

Love the channel! Is the baritone in this video the 63 reissue?
I believe so. The guy I bought it from said he modded it and changed some parts (pots maybe?) but I don't remember the details.
“I ain’t proud of it…” on the PRS 😂 ☠️
Hi Justin, that fella who worked on your Marshall, does he make a Marshall style amp for sale? Love your rigs!!
You’d have to ask him. Look up Hime Amplification
@@JustinOstrander Thanks for the reply Justin.
Do you track stereo in the studio and if so what is a typical setup?
Nice solo rig rundown btw. Thx.
Almost always mono

Which videos do you enjoy making more?
The playing/recording videos? Or the gear rundowns?
I like to play music more than talk about it. Haha. But I know people dig seeing the tools of the trade as well.

Totally! Very Dumble-ish especially with the footswitch gain
