Honestly, I always wondered how pureblood witches and wizards learned subjects like math and reading/writing if they never had any kind of contact with the muggle world. Not having contact with muggle subjects means that students like Draco and Neville wouldn't be able to read, write, or do basic math (which are necessary skills even in the wizarding world).
Hogwarts does have muggle subjects. Muggle Studies, Muggle Music and Muggle Art. I think there is a MovieFlame video about all the classes taught at Hogwarts if you wanna confirm.

Wow Angus had cruel parents but he was blessed with such great Siblings. All of them not only accepted Angus but actually protected his Squib Status from everyone to the point Angus's sister forged a Hogwarts letter, while his brother Hamish literally flew him to Hogwarts, not caring for the consequences should thry be caught. Instead of isolating themselves from him they did everything in their power to give Angus the life of a Wizard. Even when they failed and had their brother disowned and thrown to the streets while they were at Hogwarts, they stuck with their brother and found him on their own disowning their cruel Wizard father instead of their kind and gentle Squib brother. Despite all being witches and wizards they went into the muggleworld to cheer on their Brother with Pride. Thats just pure love for family right there.

Students laugh at them and then Filch walks up and escorts them out but tells them it’s okay and that they aren’t alone. I don’t think it’s plausible but it makes me happy thinking about the caretaker being kind.
What if I told you that Filch is not a squib? I recently reread Prisoner of Azkaban and was blown away by a throw away line. When the portrait of the Fat Lady was damaged, they put the responsibility of restoring the painting onto Argus Filch. My thoughts are that he is a high functioning savant. He can't do regular every day magic, but he can do what would ordinarily take a team of experts to do. Filch repairs the painting of the Fat Lady and no one even blinks an eye. She's simply hung back up as good as new, and it was Filch who somehow managed to do what should have been impossible for him.
I feel like rowling missed an opportunity to have rugby played at Hogwarts with this. like it becomes so popular among wizards that they play it themselves because why wouldn't they? also they can afford to play rougher with magical treatment for injuries.

Squibs are on a technicality the opposite of Muggleborns. Both face similar obstacles in different ways. Squibs were frowned upon for being born to Magic families yet not having any magic abilities, while Muggleborns were frowned upon for having magic abilities yet having Muggle parents. If a squib and a Muggleborn were put into a small room together they would tell each other about their struggles and wish that they had the other's parents. Now that sounds like an interesting story for the Wizarding World. Two childhood friends or neighbours or strangers who meet in Daigon Alley, where one was born to a Magic family but didn't inherit their magic abilities and the other can perform magic but was born to Muggle parents, and the daily struggles both go through to hide their situations from their respective parents (can be about 2 boys, 2 girls, or 1 boy and 1 girl) out of fear of being neglected, disowned, or looked down on. Which leads to them making a pact that if both are cast out of their family homes, they would run away together and find somewhere that would accept both of them. It can go from their early childhood to around the time they turn 11 or when it's time for the one from the Magic family to receive their Hogwarts letter, only for the twist to occur.

It is called "Hans mein Igel" ("Hans my hedgehog") in German I don't know the english transtlation. And there is another one called "The Seven Ravens" in which a father's curses turns his sons into ravens. There are so many reasons being a squib would suck but imagine going from a world where just about every task can be solved with a wave of a wand, where the careers are working with mythical creatures, quidditch player, potions making and then having to go do manual labour, work in an office and actually have to write things out yourself, pay taxes freaking use public transport like the switch from that would just be 😭
His father had no real reason to disown Angus. I mean it was clear that even at an early age he was capable of holding his own against wizards without any magical abilities himself. That's insanely badass. Angus turned a disadvantage into an advantage.
Honestly it would be very interesting to see a novel from a squibs perspective, imaging going from a modern world with Virtual reality and Iphone to basically a medieval fantasy world. It would be interesting to see the mc try to get along with other students, if the school allowed him or her to taking classes.

Where is this story found? I am on my umpteenth reading of the series (on Book 7) and don't remember it. That said, one of the things I love most about HP is its emphasis on family. Also, the fact that so many people fought hard to overcome their difficult backgrounds! How different from today's world where so many people are perpetual, whiny "victims", even if they never actually WERE a victim of anything in their lives.

I'm amazed how all HP lore, even fan fiction, maintains the theme of Parental bonds shaped so many characters. Angus brothers and sisters could have easily been followers of Grindelwald or Voldermort.

Rowling for the website, suggesting that he and fellow players Jim Hamilton and Kelly Brown are in fact squibs - wizard-born with no magical powers - masquerading as muggles. In a tweet, J. K. Rowling later insinuated that Hogg was, in fact, a full-fledged Wizard.
I do wonder what all three think about this.

Where on earth was the Angus Buchanan story from? I watch these lore videos for fun but rarely do I learn anything new so this was an awesome surprise.
5:39 He would have had to walk quite far. Lets say, for simplicity, that Hogwarts is in the "main" city of the highlands, Inverness since it is only said that Hogwarts is in the highlands but anyway, Since Angus was from the Scottish borders he would have had to walk around 200-210 miles from Hogwarts that is just over 3 days of walking (according to google maps).
Hearing that all of his siblings came to see him play brought a tear to my eye

If Professor Dumbledore was head master then, he would've told Angus that he was an amazing person, and Professor Dumbledore would say kindly that he was VERY sorry, but Hogwarts couldn't take him. Thanks so much to Herminie Granger for giving squibs as well as magical creatures more rights and representation when she started working in the ministry. She probably read Angus' book at some point too.

There are so many reasons being a squib would suck but imagine going from a world where just about every task can be solved with a wave of a wand, where the careers are working with mythical creatures, quidditch player, potions making and then having to go do manual labour, work in an office and actually have to write things out yourself, pay taxes freaking use public transport like the switch from that would just be 😭

His father had no real reason to disown Angus. I mean it was clear that even at an early age he was capable of holding his own against wizards without any magical abilities himself. That's insanely badass. Angus turned a disadvantage into an advantage.

Honestly it would be very interesting to see a novel from a squibs perspective, imaging going from a modern world with Virtual reality and Iphone to basically a medieval fantasy world.
It would be interesting to see the mc try to get along with other students, if the school allowed him or her to taking classes.
I really hate J.K. Rowling's obsession with turning real people into magical. Angus Buchanan is a real person and it's disgusting to attempt to assume that he had such a horrific family. we do not know about his family, and lets not assume.

Where is this story found? I am on my umpteenth reading of the series (on Book 7) and don't remember it.
That said, one of the things I love most about HP is its emphasis on family. Also, the fact that so many people fought hard to overcome their difficult backgrounds! How different from today's world where so many people are perpetual, whiny "victims", even if they never actually WERE a victim of anything in their lives.

There anime about a magicless character, it's called "Wistoria: wand and sword". the story is very good. I believe it was inspired by Harry Potter because some of the characters you may find are similar.
