nice guide, i watched just to get a reminder of how to do barrows again and noticed almost every guide fails to mention this: Ghommal's Hilt when equipped cancels the prayer drain effect when fighting any of the barrows brothers. it works with any of the Ghommal Hilts including the first one you get from the easy Combat Achievements! Happy Scaping!
This is what I’m talking about, an easy to follow guide! I did my first barrows run today and I got Dharok’s battle axe!! ☺️ your very well spoken and this video wasn’t complicated unlike some other barrows guides! Appreciate this, thank you 🙂👍
It’s so refreshing seeing videos from a smaller channel but still getting those quality videos I’m looking for! Much appreciated for this bro! 💯 keep these amazing vids coming!
Still helpful in 2024, just started again last week after 10 years away from the game and barrows is 1st on the list of bosses go for once ive got myself a decent dragon set ❤
Honestly this has been the most clear and helpful barrows guide I've seen. There are 2 other much longer guides that are twice as long but were much more confusing for me. Thanks so much for making this guide 🙏🏻, you definitely earned a subscribe from me 😊! My only suggestion would be that you mention the target or most optimal reward potential range. I've heard that the reward potential range between 86% and 88% is the best way to maximize your earnings. I honestly thought that was counterintuitive because a 100% reward potential logically sounds like what everyone should be shooting for! Do you agree with this reward potential range or is it just a garbage conspiracy theory 🤔 😂?
Hi Ryan. Thanks for the kind words! You are correct with the best reward percentage being below 100%. The reasoning behind it though may not be what you think. Reward percentage does not affect your chances at getting a barrows item. Reward percentage is used to calculate how many runes, coins, and bolt racks you will receive. For example, blood runes only start to roll once you are above 75% reward potential. Bolt racks are given a chance to roll at 88% reward potential. After 88% the quantity of those items no longer increase, so basically when people say don't get to 100%, it's because technically it would be a waste of time. Let's say you needed to kill 2 more skeletons to get from 88 to 100%, if you are a low level that could take an extra 3 minutes or so. Instead of taking the time to get to 100%, you could have looted the chest already and been 3 minutes into your next run. So in the long run, it would not be worth it to get that extra reward potential. Honestly it's not that big of a deal and I didn't make the guide to be "hyper efficient", so do what you want :)
@@JreesOSRS So what increases your chances at getting a barrows item then?? Or there's no such thing regardless of what your reward potential percentage is? I see too much mix answers saying 86% - 89% is the best bet to getting a barrows item. What are your thoughts and what is the right answer?
Is a magic shortbow better to use than a rune crossbow? Also I'm only 67 range so should I bring red dhide armor to switch into? Or just a set of mele armor and a whip? The only armor I have at the moment is fire cape, dragon chain body, dragon plate legs, dragon boots, dragon defender, glory and warriors ring. I also have prostlite armor and full mystic for magic and prayer 🤔?
Good question. I ran the calculations for you. At 67 range: - Magic short bow (amethyst arrows) no red d'hide switch: 2.55 dps - Magic short bow (amethyst arrows) with red d'hide switch: 2.76 dps -rune cross bow no d hide: 2.21 dps -rune crossbow with d'hide: 2.34 dps It looks like a magic short bow is going to be the better choice here. In addition, if you buy an item called a magic imbue scroll, it will upgrade your bow to do more damage. With regards to what armor you should wear, it's up to you. Both set ups are fine, you just need to decide what your focus should be. If you don't want to spend money on prayer potions then you should be using your dragon set up and not using the protection prayers unless you HAVE to. With your stats i am not so sure that would be a great idea and imagine you would be hit pretty often if you are not using prayer. If you decide to spend a bit of money and use prayer potions, focusing on maximum prayer bonus is the best route to take. Use proselyte armor and anything else to boost your prayer bonus even if it looks goofy. Do not wear mystic. You do not need the magic bonus because you will hit with them even if you are not wearing any magic gear at all. Hope that helps!
@@JreesOSRS that was helpful thanks! Luckily I'm 70 farming and 73 herblore and have close to 1100 Ranarr sitting in my bank 😂! So the prayer set up Is probably the way to go I think!
Who runs first time like i was, I sugesst to keep male protect all the time, i walked trought the door and that thang swang for 55dmg, so now i'm searching for smth different
So as long as you kill all the brothers, your chance to get a piece is the same. Killing the skeletons and worms and stuff for more percentage is so you get more quantity of runes. It doesn’t impact the chance of a barrows piece.
@@JreesOSRS oh I seeeee! I appreciate you breaking that down for me. I’m on fresh start servers with my first ever account so the extra runes help for sure haha.
So I'm trying to figure out, what is causing your brothers to only need about 20% of their remaining life but still granting their kc? Karil at 6:29 for example
Yeah rng can be like that sometimes. If you're going for money then I wouldn't suggest barrows but if you don't know any other PvM then this is a good place to start! Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
why does someone who has ice barrage need a beginners guide to barrows? Where does it say any stats needed or what lvls LOW LEVELS need to do barrows or maybe they don't have all the gp in the world to buy this gear you have? I was hoping for a beginners guide to barrows not a " hey look how easy barrows is in my really high lvl gear".
That's why I have three different gear set ups! Sorry you didn't find this helpful. If you want gear suggestions specific to your levels let me know! The prayer setup that I had first is a really cheap way to get started. Using god robes and a regular trident is less than 500k to get started. Maybe give that a shot if you don't have better gear!

You're absolutely correct. Pinning this comment. This will help out a ton of people if they have done the CA's
i believe they updated it like a month ago, so easy combat achievement ghommal hilt wont work, you need at least medium.
Updatet on the 10. May so yeah this got deleted. Only the 2.+hilt will give this effect
you can use strange old lock picks to skip going to correct door
Yes this is a good point! Thank you for that.
Well put together! Boss wife sounds like a fun idea too.

This is literally the only descriptive guide i've found that helped me beat barrows without worry. Thanks brother
I just got a Torag's Platebody first try. Not the best but still a drop
