Few things to note: 1) I should have clarified: *NO BOSSING UNTIL 99* if you're focused on experience. Bossing is good for profit and mechanics, but experience (especially when learning) is abysmal. 2) Turning chat off in an MMO is silly, yes. But if you've been scammed before, you can never be scammed if you interact with others. Pretty extreme but hey, it works. 3) About NMZ, it's ok to do it for imbues and a few levels for weapon/armor requirements, but maxing it out without touching Slayer for the most part will be counterproductive if going for high levels/maxing.
You say that doing woodcutting/fishing is a better use of afk-time than nmz (they are way less afk) since you have to get them out of the way (implying that everyone has a goal of high/maxed skills), but then you immediately say not to set big goals. If people just want to try fun bosses and have no goal of maxing it absolutely makes more sense to afk combat to make those bosses possible.
@@commonsense660 a lot of end game content (mainly raids) do reccomend you have high skill levels for woodcutting, thieving, agility etc. 99 slayer takes the average person 500+ hours or maybe less, I'm not sure. Why would you ham-string your self financially in the game by not training combat via slayer?
For me a big mistake is not tracking long-term progress. As a working adult with a family, I hardly have time to play, maybe 1 or 2 hours per day at most, sometimes more on the weekends. Since the grinds are so long and incredibly varied, it can easily feel like running in place. But if you pan out and make note of where you are, say, at the end of a month versus the beginning, it can feel more fulfilling to see it from that perspective.
This is me, so my way of combatting this and avoiding burnout was to do OLAAT (1 lvl at a time) and in between do 25% of a Runecraft level in between each level I get. So I sat and wrote a note on my desktop each step I had to take, each level to get. It numbered 168 steps and at the end, I’ll have my RC cape. I dated the start of this goal (27/1/23) and so far I’m at around 130 steps to go. It breaks everything down into smaller steps, while still keeping the long term goal in sight.
I have a note in my phone with all my OSRS goals and I have them checked off as I completed them. Really satisfying to look back and see how much my account has improved. Also it helps avoid burnout since I can switch between goals as needed rather than doing the same thing for multiple days.
@@KeytarArgonian I do that too, but I don't write it down. But I am good at breaking goals down into a series of tiny ones like that. It's the only way to do ANYTHING honestly, not just RuneScape..
I think Jagex should expand on Agility and add a lot more great time saving Shortcuts between high traffic and high value locations to make Agility more worth leveling. There are obviously a few great shortcuts, but ive never leveled Agility for those, I only trained it for quest requirements and Run Energy depletion (and graceful).
@@Gl-my8fw I agree completely. I mean, what’s the point really? I hit 60 which is enough for the rev cave shortcut with a summer pie which is useful for pking but aside from that, nahhh, I’am good on jumping across rooftops for 769 XP/Hr bruh, Thanks though! Lol
i got max combats from nmz. i work most of the day and its easy to afk. and it makes it easier to kill slayer monsters as well. i could have leveled with slayer and took a year to get them all up with the little time i have at home to play. nothing wrong with doing what you can to keep lvling as long as you are enjoying the game. its not a race.
Im the same way i try to explain that to people cause i work a lot and have two small kids at home. With the little time i have to play i like to boss etc lol
@@austinpugmire2843 I mean I leveled exclusively through slayer, specifically afking MOST tasks. As long as you are afking your tasks it is pretty chill. I would do slayer in the background while watching shows, doing shit with friends or w/e. Just block the tasks that you can't afk. This idea that NMZ is the only reasonable afk for combat is silly. Plus it isn't even significantly faster, I'd argue it is roughly the same amount of time overall.
Compared to top money makers like raids and nex, almost all slayer doesn't even register on the chart If you're going to skip for hydra tasks then you can potentially make 1/3 of the GP/HR at level 95 Slayer focused is a terrible way to get to end game content and high bank value
@@razorn6247 Not terrible but yes there is better ways. But for many its enjoyable, also really good for building a good enough gear for the better money making content
Make sure you get your achievement diaries done. They are soo helpful I dragged it out and i wish I didn't. The easy teleports, extra drops, more staffs etc it's so worth the grind
Doesn't seem like much, but so many times i tell my higher level friends "okay now tele to GE " and they said they didn't do it yet. 5 min of gameplay can save hours and that goes for almost every diary
Getting all the Hard Diaries done was euphoric. Now on a slow grind to get those Elite Diaries done. It's pretty close that I can taste it. Just a few more awful grinds remain.
@@bosmeriosmosis215 if you around 100ish combat. You should have all hard diaries by now. Then slowly progress them to elites since they require high skills like 96fishing(91 if boosting with pie)
NMZ at work is great, since I only have to check once every 15 minutes. Fishing, WC, etc can fill an inventory which can lead to downtime. Would rather one over the other, just my opinion though.
@@benm752 put it in easy mode! You'll last 6 hours easy and you'll make a little over what you spent points wise. Easy mode with 5 easy bosses, I make it to the 6 hour log mark everytime.
@@benm752 lower your health to practically 0 using dwarf cake rock / locator orb from DS2. The damage the absorption potions... absorb, is based on what the max it would've been. If your health was max, the amount of damage they could have done would've been whatever their max hit is. So when you rock cake to 1hp, the max hit can only be 1. So only 1 will be taken off your potion. Pot up every 15 minutes~ to avoid the afk kick, re-rock cake, repeat until empty.
My biggest mistake was to think I needed to max my account to be able to fit in within a clan (to be able to participate in events). I ended up burning out and abandoning the game for months. Now I'm back with a new mindset that I can do whatever I want at the time I want using the method I want. As long as I'm having fun, it's okay.
I'm the kind of person that keeps all of my skills an even level and it causes progress to be extremely slow, but I'm never bored because I constantly swap what skill I am leveling. Due to this no lifers bitch me out for my methods all the time, but everytime I see one of them they are just standing at the G.E. or in their house gaining afk money... I question how much fun that can be.
@@davidedds6562 Welcome to members. Most people are okay, but enter anywhere with raids, bossing and other such things, they will bitch you out big time whilst being wrong Like the lvl 126 who was pissed I'm doing lvl 150 ToA, whilst he still struggles with it (I'm not even 80 att or def yet) Tried saying I couldn't do it. Proved him wrong :)
Biggest mistake was getting past mid game😂 barely played until I finally unlocked stuff like Gargs and nechs and then fell in love with slayer, getting close to 99 in less then a year with two cerb pets under 800kc
@@JavierPwns slayer is kinda fun. Makes you money once you get past 70 slayer. I have a level 97 piety account that has 70 slayer, which I started when I was level 40.
@@JavierPwns Get a viggoras chainmace and do wildy slayer, you'll hit like a truck and you barely ever get pked as long as you make sure to block lava dragons and revenent tasks. Larran's keys drops and that risk of getting pked keeps you engaged and entertained, not to mention you'll rack up slayer points much faster. I hated slayer until I started doing it with krystilia.
Hey I’m in defense for training at nmz. Sure it’s more efficient doing slayer but the afk you can get at nmz is wayyyyy easier than the other skills you mentioned. If you set it up correctly, you only have to click once every 20 minutes or so. If you’re at a job where you can’t catch a break or out of the house, that might be literally the only thing you can do consistently. So.. why not?
Yeah I dont get the one about being a " nmz warrior " there is more reasons to get combat skills up than higher number = better and people dont have all day to do task after task for even less xp
So what mechanics are you learning along the way? High stats don't mean shit if you can't pray flick or survive a boss/raid. That's the problem with afk training, you end up not learning a damn thing and then end up leeching the raids you join because you don't have prior experience with that sort of thing.
The tip I would give someone is to not fall for how easy content creators make it look to grind out skills or KC. It takes them hours and hours to get short clips, so expect to also spend a huge chunk of time progressing yourself. Also, dying can be frustrating and disheartening, but it’s part of the experience when learning boss mechanics. After many deaths, I only just recently had the DK rotation clock for me, and that’s probably one of the easiest things to learn when bossing. I’m excited to move on to other bosses and spend the time learning them. It’s a game, have fun.
I've played on and off since RS Classic. One big thing I see is how much time people waste looking through their banks. Spend a few hours organising your bank, setting bank tabs and layouts (runelite) and you will noticeably see a better gameplay.
Mistake I made in game that I wish I did it earlier is power mining with iron. Like, okay that was one "quick" way to 99 but by that time I don't even have prospector outfit and have to grid for it when I'm on achievement diary grind. Pretty painful tbh. Same story goes to bone to peaches
I would like to add: Not training agility Getting the graceful set is hugely beneficial, as it makes your grind for every other skill in the game, like mining into smithing, or running farms, much quicker and more efficient. Agility sucks ass, but it's worth it, especially for Ironmen.
Agreed on much, I confess I’m only 91 slayer but every time I unlock a slayer boss I grind it to learn the mechanics and get the kc needed to hit the hiscores (except guardians*) after which I go back to the xp grind and overall this applies to number 10….it’s fun and rewarding, feels like a little treat and break from the grind. * I want the granite dust for my cannon balls and I want the pet. So I’ve compromised with my play style in that whenever I get a Gargoyle task, I do one inventory worth of supplies to grind the boss. Usually 5 to 6 kills, then head to the basement to grind
Im sorry but not doing bosses until 99 slayer is the worst tip ever. Im like 100k xp off 99 slayer and ive done as much bossing as possible because I like it. I have several 100 kc to several 1000 kc in almost all bosses and my bank is around 600m. If i hadnt done any bossing i doubt my bank would be worth 150m
Agreed, currently doing a gargoyle task on the guardians and they're a good midgame boss to start learning mechanics for endgame pvm on a more chill pace. I quite enjoy doing them.
I literally have kc in all end game bosses/raids from nightmare to tob with an infernal cape but I'm 89 slayer LMAO worst tip ever is an understatement
I think you guys missed the start of it when he says "if you are focused on the grind". He's not saying it's mandatory, he is simply explaining the efficacy
@@brawlfamily1j660 its doesn't seem to...he explains it specifically. IF you are focused on the grind, don't touch bosses till 99. The video is 100% correct.
Hard disagree on multiple points here. Depending on your goals NMZ is the way to go. I wanted quick access to endgame PVM content. NMZ afk made that possible with my schedule. I cant be leveling slayer for a year. Daily runs are a chore, lots of people will quit them after a while. They are also worse gp than just doing raids if you were going to do that anyway. You don't need 100m+ equipment for new challenges. DHCB + more as a min req for vorkath doesnt make much sense to me. I started running Vorkath as a money maker with low 90 melees, torso, dragon legs from the boss itself and a Lance which cost me 46m or so. With this you can get a consistent 3 kills a run and up to 5 on occasion.
Actually enjoying slayer while watching your combats slowly rise is one of the core gameploy loops of the game, so missing it all for NMZ feels cheap. Daily runs break up the monotony and are going to be good money makers all the way up until much later in the game, and bossing and raids are difficult and very counter-intuitive to the otherwise casual and relaxed nature of the game in almost all other ways - Its definitely jarring for players who have come to enjoy the game as the slow casual grind that it is. Skipping all of that just to do late game pvm seems like you're missing the majority of what the game really has to offer. But thats the great thing about runescape is that everyone can choose their own way to play.
The real way to play the game: do whatever you want, it's a game. I enjoyed maxing, but one of my friend only does fishing all day, combat lvl ~70 for the last 4years. He meets people and chats. Says he might get into mining someday (been saying that for 2years now). He has just as much fun as I do.
This dude is known to be pretty opinionated, but im with you. Especially with the nmz point, i got 99 str and atk before nightmare zone dropped, thru doing bandits and it made my slayer grind 100x faster.
I hard disagree with the Nmz one. its very convenient and requires barely any interaction or focus so you can do other things like work, school, etc.. idk how you can suggest woodcutting or fishing when those require more interaction than nmz. Yes you shouldn't neglect your slayer, but if you have moments where you can't give the game your focus but still want to be making some type of progress then Nmz isn't bad.
Use quest as milestone, then work your way towards completing quest Get as much unlimited teleports unlocked as possible, ectofungus, drakan medallion, fairy rings, 75 crafting for slayer ring, spirit trees etc. 55 runecraft for unlimited law runes They really make a big difference to the game when you can teleport everywhere
Good tips but, Efficiency really shouldn’t be a requirement for the game, everyone should play at their own pace. Even if it’s detrimental to “the grind”. Too much hardcore osrs people look down on players who are exp wasting, or wasting any time or not doing specific stuff etc etc, or generally playing the game they want. Not to mention new players who’ve never played before. I love the game but in the last few years the community has gotten this big head ego about this, and a lot of the newer content save for some examples(like Tempoross) have been tailored for the super end game that, surprise..not everyone can do even after a long time playing. People just expect these crazy high requirements off everyone. It’s a bit exhausting
Releasing content aimed at deep end game players is the best option for retaining player count. People not at the end game have no reason to complain about a content drought because there's so much for them to do like easier collection log tabs, combat achievements, diaries, quest cape, first inferno, maxing, etc. You literally always have a reasonable goal to aim for at that stage of the game. Meanwhile the people in the deep end game have nothing to besides roll the dice on grinds for the boss/skilling pets, 200m all, extremely rare collection log items like 3a pieces, pvm wr speedruns, etc., so making more content they're going to enjoy that breaks up the pace from those tedious grinds is going to help keep them interested in the game. The majority of people in the hlc don't care how inefficient people want to be. They just offer advice because tons of less experienced people have no idea what they're even missing out on simply due to their lack of experience. Most efficiency advice isn't offered for the sake of getting people to be more efficient but to merely inform them of alternative options which give you a better bang for your buck.
I'm old enough that on my main, NMZ Guthans Hosting and 6hr logout timer was still a thing. You'd get a host NMZ world with ONLY the best bosses (at the time you had to only do the quests, you couldn't select which enemies would be in the NMZ any other way) and then you could afk with Guthans for 6hrs. I would Wake up in the morning before work and get it going, come home at noon, restart it, come home after work, and then play normally. Baiscally I became max combat in the background, it was glorious. I'm glad I did all that before they removed it from the game.
I recommend playing goal oriented as you said but be open to changing it up if it doesn't work for you. I for the life of me didn't understand blackjacking and ended up training 77-91 thru ardy knights & pyramid plunder instead of stressing about not being the most efficient way because I still got it done. Along the way you'll often find things you could do to make something more efficient but it requires a long grind (elite morytania for extra herb patch for instance) don't be afraid to switch up your grinds and focus on another one if you feel it'll help you out in the long run. If you ever feel mega burned out, play a different game for a little bit, you'll probably come back to runescape after a bit feeling less bleh about your next goal.
1. I picked the wrong slayer master. I did long, boring tasks and it turned me off from doing slayer. 2. I rushed combat and didn't do enough skilling which made my account unbalanced in levels. If I were doing it all over again I would do a lot more skilling at the start and pretty much only do slayer for combat and then do bossing when I am almost maxed combat.
He isn't wrong about goals and competing with yourself. I made zerkers after my very first account got hacked and banned. I made an second got bored and wanted to hangout with my friends till everyone moved or got much better things to do. I came back since the new fresh worlds came out and what I did was make new accounts to figure out what's the fastest way to level and play the game. I realize low hp and no melee. The new grave system let's you reboot your stuff and you don't need food plus restore runs. I got 57 wc and was able to figure out a lot of ways to train and I didn't have to even commute with others since the world's are pretty much empty. 3 months till the characters are moved to base game. Glad they did the worlds. Got me back into playing and watching videos I used to be into back in the day. Keep up the good work!!
I do allot of things i don't really enjoy, whether it's for gp for upgrades, skills for quests, or the quests themselves. But im slowly getting to a point where i can do bosses and raids, the things i actually want to do
I think the last point is a good point. I hardly play the game anymore because I don't really enjoy playing it much anymore even though I enjoy watching content about it. I believe I would actually feel miserable if I forced myself. doing a little goal from time to time is plenty good for me :)
I think the problem with people not spending money comes from other mmos having bind on equip items. So people are just used to skipping over a few upgrades to save money.
I dislike that concept somewhat. I played a game called Cabal Online which had similar mechanics like "Account/Character bind on Pickup/Equip", sure it's nice to use and it feels unique, but when you want your next upgrade (if can purchase) your current BIS doesn't work to help towards it. Recently I upgraded from Bandos to Torva and that extra ~70m helped :D
biggest mistake you can make IMO, letting others tell you how to have fun. OSRS is an addiction and the longer you play, the more important it is to have fun. I’ve played RS since probably 07-08. Burnout is real.
I did Slayer and didn’t enjoy it much. I wanted to do raids so I did afk NMZ for 90+ cb stats. Now I'm running ToA and enjoying the game more than I ever have. To each his own.
Kaoz sadly bro I lost my tbow to that scam u showed . I was doing rebuild as well and had start all over . Best advice he gave in vid is simply don't talk to them. Learned my lesson never again my private stays off and even public chat whenever I'm at ge.
My first mistake, do things without getting helpful boosts and unlocks first. My second mistake, force myself to do them and be miserable. After that, do whichever I feel like at the time and be content. no more mistakes
NmZ warrior is fine... I maxed CB stats before slayer and enjoyed doing boss slayer to 99. If you do nmz slayer and no slayer then yeah that's one thing but if NMZ allows you to kill Zammy over greater demons at a lower slayer level and that's something to us want to do then more power to you.
NMZ warrior all day baby! Having low slayer than your combats gets such a bad rep. I work in an office, so I am on a computer all day. I remote desktop my home computer and have my account in nmz easy mode all day. Every 15 minutes I can just re pot up and click my health back to 1 and leave it alone, takes like 10 seconds. This is efficiency at it's peak! I don't have the time to be able to fish or any other "afk" skill. The nmz is true afk, and it makes slayer SO much easier to train when your combats are in the 90s.
It's worse when people catfish you for months before screwing you over and then pretend like they have no idea what you are talking about or flat out ignore you.
Definitely feel called out. Got nmz maxed melee stats. But imo at a certain point only need to remote into my PC to send a tap throughout the day was far more afk than anything else possible in the game
Some great tips, i'm coming up on 75 range and feel like i need to do fight caves for the cape but honestly the fight caves aren't fun for me. Spending all that time fighting through a ton of waves (most of which require no effort and are boring as hell) just for a chance at beating jad to get the cape sounds like a huge waste of time and not something i'd be interested in. I was leaning on the side of just waiting until i'm super OP for it then give it a shot, may even pass it entirely and stick with obsidian (mythical in future) but was feeling pressured to get it, but after your final point, i'll do it when i want to, i'm a skiller not a PVMer atm so i'll stick to what i enjoy. Fire cape is for the future
If you train ranged and slayer with a cannon you can level it up quite quick to about 80-85. Thats a comfortable level to do jad and in reasonable time. Honestly just wanting to get it over with is how you get through the early waves. Blowpipe is still really good in the caves I think, making quick work of the early levels. Runelite has a jad plugin that helps a lot with kiting enemies taking on certain enemies one at a time for less damage to use less food. Theres tons of guides. It’s pretty worth just in getting your first fire cape in my opinion. Good luck!
Hey friend I saw a jad video and thought of you! It is by youtuber “KooDoo” and its a great short guide! A few of the comments have some good tips about it as well. Namely the one that says focus on staying on ranged until a mage attack and then go back to ranged protection. Hope this helps!
Just have fun. Love it. So simple and yet it's my hardest thing. I always get sucked it to some crazy grind. But just returned a day or 2 ago and doing it for fun. No goals in mind yet. Just going with the flow. Now watch the levels come in lol. So far so good.
My best singular advice for a brand new account is to pick a hard achievement diary task you set your ultimate goal for. It will be harder than you think for example I picked morytania hard as my intial ultimate goal. So I could have a timeless moneymaker setup on barrows. And by the time I got there I can decided I should just push for all zone and content unlocks as much as possible and ended with a fun quest cape on top of casually maxing combats at rock crabs. Took probably 1 year of ulting from my phone.
Common mistake is using up the last charge on jewelry. I always high alc my rings of dueling or games necklaces at 1 charge left so you don’t lose any go
‘Set little goals’ < this. So what I’m doing is an OLAAT (one level at a time) and in between each level I’m hitting 25% of a Runecrafting level in between each other. I don’t do this for combat, because that’s done through Slaye, and you easily make the GP needed for the buyables this way once you’re around 85-86 in everything, as long as you’re keeping up your runs.
In regards to setting small goals, please make sure to time them properly. I’m not saying look at how much time you have every single day, just know roughly how much time you have to play, assign those small goals for those times, then boom. You will be very pleased. As a new father, I barely get to play, but I still find time to get small quests done here and there!
i set small goals that get big. I wanted Mort hard diaries so I could do better barrow runs. I needed more agility. The seers course would be needed for better xp. To maximize the seers course xp I needed Kandarin hard diary. So one simple goal became a much larger one. It reset my drive for the game tbh
@@ZombieNationLTD same story for me. Ill go grind agility for Me2... karamja hard diaries and a graceful recolour later, Im loading a blowpipe and feeling like I went down a rabbit hole.
You forgot a great reason to afk in nightmare zone is the access to herb boxes. Afking in nightmare zone makes it easy to stack up point and continually buy boxes daily which makes herb training much cheaper.
I think the only point I really disagree with is not going hard into bossing before maxing. Especially if it's a slayer boss like the GG's, cerb, thermy, or krakatoa. Like yea I would agree don't sit there on the money snake for weeks, but if you have a slayer task & a boss you want to try and kill do it.
There's a plugin on runelite called entity hider, I just hide other players and turn public chat off and ignore any whispers that come from people I don't know. It's great to counter scammers but weird when you see random trees fall down or fires be made
There's a combat achievement to kill it with no weapon equipped. Even recoil damage is not acceptable. It takes like 10-15 minutes. It's very possible, but it will take some time. I wouldn't farm it as a money maker with those skills.
The slayer vs nmz argument really comes down to how you value your time. I did a lot of nmz when I was working because it was so little attention required, it's essentially free xp considering I'd normally not be getting anything during those hours. You then take that xp and use it to speed up your slayer xp when you're actually playing actively. Sure, you're overflowing your combat xp, but who cares? You're going to do that anyway if you start raiding/bossing.
I completely disagree on the NMZ being a waste of time. It's one of the most AFK things you can do in the game (other than Birdhouses/Farming). Your point was that we should do other AFK grindable skills like Fishing, Woodcutting or Mining. It all depends on what you classify as AFK though. In my job, I can't afford to be looking at the screen every few minutes. Even once every 20 minutes is pushing it. Therefore my only AFK option (when I'm wfh) is NMZ. It allows me to do all my chores, work and study without having to dedicate more than a few seconds every hour for great XP.
Youre wrong about NMZ For most people the enjoyable/important parts of the game are the endgame raids and pvm money makers For them it is better to spend their afk time on combat stats than fishing or woodcutting for achievement diary cape
The other day I learned you can give the farmers noted items as payment to watch your plants. I accidentally learned that the other day. Been playing for 14 years on and off and somehow never knew that 😑
Number 10 is the most important one together with 4 maybe. It's a game after all you should have fun most importantly. I know people who quit RS because they set a goal that takes ages to achieve and didnt like the path you need to take to get it. For instace when I was looking for a good armor to traing melee combat Fighter Torso is mentioned a lot, but you need to play Barbarian assault minigame and I hate that minigame, I tried it once for the achievement diaries and then never touched it again. People shouldn't feel forced to do everything as efficiently as possible. Simply if you are not having fun, don't do it.
Osrs is a great game truly! There is a reason gamers quit and come back to playing it again. But people who have a life, work, training and other social life are limited in playing osrs. some people don't have 8-10 hours to grind everyday unfortunately :/
I think one mistake I keep making is letting myself be a noob. I know, that sounds silly, but the thing is. I often play runescape on the side of doing something else. Like watching shows, doing school work, cleaning. The sorts. By doing all this, I'm accepting the fact that I don't have time and despite having placed a solid amount of hours into runescape overall, I hardly know anything about the game! I mean, the only skill I ever hit 99 in is woodcutting in rs3... cutting elders the entire time. I struggle to understand the scope of options and commitment to understand the games mechanics. Like farming? I never learned that skill. I know I plant stuff, but that's it. I've never done barrows before and I don't know how to boss what-so-ever. The mole and kbd are the only bosses I ever beat! I'm playing osrs for the first time and using runelite has helped me a lot with opening up to new mechanics in the game and with how massive the community is, there are a lot of good videos out there to teach me about a bunch of stuff! None-the-less. There is tons for me to learn and I'm barely scratching the surface. It's been a lot of fun seeing content I've never touched before so far!
If you're doing slayer efficiently you are mainly doing bursting or cannoning tasks, so in the end you wont actually get that much melee combat xp out of it
I love seeing people like kaoz thinking they are so smart and totally ignore the math. Getting 90s before starting slayer is the most effective way to train
Nah, there’s a lot of AFK tasks you can do and those will only train melee (gargoyles, non bursting catacomb tasks). Waiting until 90 combats is absurd. Slayer is an incredibly slow skill to train and you don’t want to do that with high combats to the point you aren’t gaining combat levels while training slayer, can cause you to burnout quick.
@@AJ_Ol gargoyles is the perfect example of a totally inefficient thing to do. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it's about 400k gp/h, 10k slayer xp/h, 45k combat xp/h. Doing efficient slayer with up to 100k xp/h if you go sweaty with alts or 50k xp/h regularly and doing nmz for 100k+ combat xp/h super afk with one click every 15mins is just way better. And honestly, if you burnout playing rs, it's probably for the better lol
@@derda3209 I’ve done both, did I good amount of NMZ early on. Training combat through slayer is way more enjoyable and rewarding. There’s only a handful of tasks that are quick and sweating for XP isn’t something I’ll ever do. If you want to be 10 slayer with base 90 combats, more power to you. I’m not playing the game that way.
I don’t like when you said at the start “…play more efficiently and have fun doing it”. What if me bank standing or collecting shovels are barrows is fun for me? It’s subjective. Efficiency can take the fun out of the game because an MMORPG is just that, you doing what you want….but when you abide by the efficiency standards, it’s telling you how to do something you used to do otherwise. Sometimes it’s more fun to clean +10 more vorkaths/hour but other times, fun might be trying to solo corp with only potatoes. You know? Subjective. But good video. I learned some things that I didn’t think I would as a 15+ year veteran.
Some people don't know how to take it easy and limit themselves. I rarely play more than a couple hours a day on my days off. Keeps the game fun that way
NMZ is great for training combat. High combat is needed for (faster) bossing kills. Bossing is one of the, if not the, best money maker. This makes you able to buy the best gear to train everything else. So I would recomend you to do NMZ if you have to AFK. It also make you able to kill slayertasks monsters quicker.
As someone that just afk’d rock crabs on my back-up phone when mobile came out I can say I would NEVER have maxed my combat if I only did slayer to level. The game is so, so much easier with max stats and the amount of lamps you get from maxing at rock crabs is insane. You easily finish the museum and have any skill you want at near 70 from lamps. Plus then you just collect bones for free super fast pray xp. Its just too damn easy to max all combats on crabs at fossil island. Talk about afking. And this is modern mobile logout timers. The difference between 85 combats and 99 with your percentage boosts buffs just tips alot of combat challenges into the easy mode.
"in osrs you are your only opponent" *Me: has flashbacks to trying to grind green dragons in the wildly and being sniped by a level 99 magic user at my CL about 70, dieing in two spells. Losing so much in value before I knew better x,D going to the GE to rebuy my setup... And seeing the same person, selling my setup.. as my GE purchase dings* The disrespect. I will never forget. In osrs, everyone is my opponent x,D (Memeing but damn that was a savage encounter for me)
So I've went from f2p to p2p. I try to keep my members active thru bonds. And green dragons in the wildy with looting bag is great money. Until you run into a pker 🤣 so how about the first few times I thought I had it figured out. Had food. Prayer. Run energy. I'm thinking if I get attacked I'll run to lvl 20 tele out. Dude starts hitting me with magic. I get to lvl 20 wilderness. I hit varrock teleport. I was tele blocked 🥲 didn't know that was a thing. Lmao then one guy came by with like no armor on. Stopped said hey. Spun around and swung on me with a dagger that had venom on it. I'm running away he's chasing me talking about sorry I thought you were someone else....well ok then why are u still following me 🤣 the green dragon grind is real bro.
I got my 50kc for vorkath at 75 range with a blowpipe and tbh it wasn’t hard at all. And the assembler is a top tier upgrade so I would do it again in a heart beat. Also most players aren’t going to be grinding slayer out after 99 I feel like so bossing while you can seems like the most profitable way to train that skill. Outside of that I do agree with what you said though. I spent wayyyyy to much time at nmz.
nmz ing your melee to max is actually pretty good. sure, slayer is effective to train melee but with low stats, you cant kill high lvl bosses nightmare or solo bandos.
I never knew this would be a mistake untill after it happened. I made a good OSRS friend, played with him for years! One day he messages me to meet him at the ge.. to my surprise he decided to give up RuneScape because it had become a mmmaaajjooorrrr problem in his life :(. Imagine my surprise when he gives me 670m+. I would say that was a game changing moment but it turns out it would be in a negative way! That killed my drive to grind out skills and learn new bosses, at that point I was already 99 in all melee hp, mining, and slayer, sure I got a bunch of xp and shiny gear but it all feels hollow and underwhelming and the game has lost a lot of enjoyment. Mostly I'll just stand at the ge these days or hop into f2p to take a noob on a dumb adventure for some coins but that's really it since then. Him and I played other games together after he quit and we're on discord alot, and we still are to this day so I know him leaving the game wasn't the issue D:
For me it was stop trying to be tick perfect in everything. I put off runecrafting too long because I wasn't coming close to the wiki xp expectations. I realized its better i'm at least doing it half assed than not doing it at all...
Most players go straight to endgame content with low skill because of black market and selling gold, just go top ffa worlds.. very embarracing like 105 cb 112cb with whip and void, pretty disgusting
Doing soul wars atm on a iron acc and loving it, so tro I got burnt out going for zulrah and vork pet on main 😅 now I am loving the game because of a iron man acc lol great video keep up the good work
Not everyone will get a max cape. There's nothing wrong with doing nmz or crabs. For someone with a full time job and even maybe a family doing afk combat can get you to raids months to even a year faster than exclusively training through slayer. If you have a busy life and want to do the end game with your friends nmz or crabs might mean the difference between catching up with your friends and being the last person in your friend group playing regularly due to burn out. Skills will always be there for you to chip away at later. Certain friends will move on from the game though. I really regret focusing on maxing rather than doing raids with the friend group I had in 2018.
I will admit that I am an NMZ Warrior but that's partly due to the fact that I really don't like doing Slayer. I know it's one of, if not the most popular skill in both OSRS and RS3 so it sounds like blasphemy for me to say this as a long time RuneScape player, but I just don't enjoy it. I'm probably going to end up doing the same thing I did with RS3 and save Slayer as one of my last few 99s, even if it is less efficient that way. I prefer doing enjoyable methods rather than faster methods. At the end of the day I just care about the end result, not how fast I got to the end result.
I think you should definitely go to nmz and get higher combats before doing slayer, the slayer masters who give good tasks are locked behind combat level. camping slayer or crabs from like 60-80 in combat is annoying and you can afk for 20 minutes in NMZ without worrying about dying. Who cares if you have low slayer level and high combats anyways l0l. Also i think people should def do bosses before 99 slayer. if you're 'focused on the grind' you can still do bosses and get experience. the cape perk is the only reason to get 99 and its nice but you shouldn't get caught up in xp loss because you want to try a boss. if you get a boss task and you wanna try it just do it
nmz is actually good for melee training. it will increase your dps against most bosses which require no slayer lvl like gwd or raids. actually most slayer bosses are not worth doing and their drops are bad other than maybe cerb or alch hydra. max melee also helps speed up slayer progression.
You did clarify, these simpletons are just struggling to pay attention lol
The only people excited for new content are people who have already finished the game, and therefore don't need your videos.
@@LuMnOsITi Factually incorrect lmao. That mentality is so mediocre and sad.
@@KeytarArgonian love this idea
Not just good OSRS advice but good life advice.
I agree. It is one of my lowest at almost 72 and I don't feel motivated to continue.
Lol
I got 62 for slayer tower chain.
That’s what Sepulchre is for, the rewards aren’t terrible.
Even with rooftop courses and the promise of graceful, agility is still the second most boring skill. If RC didn't exist, agility would be the bottom.
i got max combats from nmz. i work most of the day and its easy to afk. and it makes it easier to kill slayer monsters as well. i could have leveled with slayer and took a year to get them all up with the little time i have at home to play. nothing wrong with doing what you can to keep lvling as long as you are enjoying the game. its not a race.
Im the same way i try to explain that to people cause i work a lot and have two small kids at home. With the little time i have to play i like to boss etc lol
It’s definitely worth afk’ing combat up to the 90s to make slayer go by way faster.
Exactly. It's pretty cringe to tell someone not to level up quickly so they can enjoy the fun parts of the game more in their little spare time, ngl.
The copium is strong.
Sort of an add-on to the upgrading gear tip, avoid buying new items until the price has settled. I saw tons of people lose gp buying the fang pre-nerf
You’re absolutely insane for that bossing slayer tip. 96+ slayer is useless
Yeah im 96 and fine with 10-15k xp an hour and earning great gp on the way
Bruh slayer made by bank.
Compared to top money makers like raids and nex, almost all slayer doesn't even register on the chart

What's a good order to tackle achievements diaries?
@@bosmeriosmosis215 if you around 100ish combat. You should have all hard diaries by now. Then slowly progress them to elites since they require high skills like 96fishing(91 if boosting with pie)
NMZ at work is great, since I only have to check once every 15 minutes. Fishing, WC, etc can fill an inventory which can lead to downtime. Would rather one over the other, just my opinion though.
If you are lucky and get a fish barrel you can fish Karambwan for a long time tho
how can you afk for 15 mins at nmz? at max absorbtion mine runs out way quicker
Nmz warriors rise up! I work in an office and it's the only thing that is truly afk enough for me to be able to do.
That is the best way to lv imo. I will max but I'm in no rush at all.
Literally this, who cares how you manage your account at the end of the day it’s your account.
I'm the kind of person that keeps all of my skills an even level and it causes progress to be extremely slow, but I'm never bored because I constantly swap what skill I am leveling.
So.. why not?
Some experience is better than 0
Yeah I dont get the one about being a " nmz warrior " there is more reasons to get combat skills up than higher number = better and people dont have all day to do task after task for even less xp
I would like to add: Not training agility
Getting the graceful set is hugely beneficial, as it makes your grind for every other skill in the game, like mining into smithing, or running farms, much quicker and more efficient.
Doing bosses in terms of xp wise efficiency is not the way to go. I agree with your comment but this Guide seems to focus on xp efficiency
Use quest as milestone, then work your way towards completing quest
Get as much unlimited teleports unlocked as possible, ectofungus, drakan medallion, fairy rings, 75 crafting for slayer ring, spirit trees etc. 55 runecraft for unlimited law runes
They really make a big difference to the game when you can teleport everywhere
Did you even watch the video?
I'm glad I did all that before they removed it from the game.
i played back in 05. Your videos are in my feed and its making want to experience it again
i always waste the scammers time, it's great had a fellow try the same bank items one the other day
Still, the really savvy scammers always have backup options to get you in other ways. I’d be careful interacting with them at all
I recommend playing goal oriented as you said but be open to changing it up if it doesn't work for you.
That tip for trying to beat your xp/h PB is really cool I never considered that

Agreed
I think the same as you. I personally did it with about ….94 range lol i waited years to do it and honestly its super fun definitely worth a try
Good luck!
its honestly worth it, i did it in few hours first time. Yeah it was frustrating but felt super good after doing it + its important item
Hey friend I saw a jad video and thought of you! It is by youtuber “KooDoo” and its a great short guide! A few of the comments have some good tips about it as well. Namely the one that says focus on staying on ranged until a mage attack and then go back to ranged protection. Hope this helps!
osrs is like heroin: you should never do it, because if you do, it will consume most of your life and become an obsession.
Source: I’ve done both.
So I could have a timeless
moneymaker setup on barrows. And by the time I got there I can decided I should just push for all zone and content unlocks as much as possible and ended with a fun quest cape on top of casually maxing combats at rock crabs. Took probably 1 year of ulting from my phone.
Sorry but what tis ulting?
Common mistake is using up the last charge on jewelry. I always high alc my rings of dueling or games necklaces at 1 charge left so you don’t lose any go
Honestly, these scams make it hard to make friends with people around my level, I just wanna talk to people and they treat me with so much suspicion.
That Sigmund kill was epic lol
i set small goals that get big. I wanted Mort hard diaries so I could do better barrow runs. I needed more agility. The seers course would be needed for better xp. To maximize the seers course xp I needed Kandarin hard diary. So one simple goal became a much larger one.
It reset my drive for the game tbh
I’m doing this exact thing rn except o just want seers teleports for training agil
@@ZombieNationLTD same story for me. Ill go grind agility for Me2... karamja hard diaries and a graceful recolour later, Im loading a blowpipe and feeling like I went down a rabbit hole.
Lol that’s not even that much extra unless u have a shit account
You forgot a great reason to afk in nightmare zone is the access to herb boxes. Afking in nightmare zone makes it easy to stack up point and continually buy boxes daily which makes herb training much cheaper.
What lvl should I be for the funny money worm combat stat wise
personally i stick to 1750+ only worlds lmao. i love empty ge and never having to fight for spots anywhere
It's great to counter scammers but weird when you see random trees fall down or fires be made
That last one is the big one for me, it's easy to get lost in the abyss of optimal grinding and forget to stop and smell the roses
"You could kill vorkath at 75 range, a rune crossbow and an anti-dragon shield". Either you're joking or you just tore a piece from my soul.
I mean you CAAAAAAN, but will take a long time lol
Youre wrong about NMZ
For most people the enjoyable/important parts of the game are the endgame raids and pvm money makers
For them it is better to spend their afk time on combat stats than fishing or woodcutting for achievement diary cape
I'm literally not wrong lmao
@@KaozOSRS lmao lol haha
Do you want to address my points?
@@razorn6247 lmao lol haha
@@KaozOSRS tbf you got me
Well played
i learned getting early high lv construction really helped me and training magic and range with slayer aswel
lmao "I mean, what the hell are you even doing?" You're a legend man!!! Thanks for the inspiration :)
great video I will keep the max cape grind tip in mind on my way to 99 runecrafting
That fight of beneath cursed sands is just pain to watch lol
Everyone should just play at their own pace, the way they want, and ignore the sweaty neck beards that demand you do things a specific way.
I know the membership unlocks a ton within the game but is it worth it overall? And which version is the best bang for my buck
Biggest mistake is worrying about how other people play
Im so glad I never even wanted to try max. All I wanted to do is get a questcape and fish.
Now I suddenly find myself with multiple noncombat 99s
quests get you onto the bossing ladder mindset. beating ds2 is a great start
"in osrs you are your only opponent" *Me: has flashbacks to trying to grind green dragons in the wildly and being sniped by a level 99 magic user at my CL about 70, dieing in two spells. Losing so much in value before I knew better x,D going to the GE to rebuy my setup... And seeing the same person, selling my setup.. as my GE purchase dings*
The disrespect. I will never forget. In osrs, everyone is my opponent x,D
(Memeing but damn that was a savage encounter for me)
So I've went from f2p to p2p.
“Drop a cheeky like” if I wouldn’t have already been subbed, I would have.
I realized its better i'm at least doing it half assed than not doing it at all...
thanks for the tips. what resource pack for the UI do yo use?
When I started 2 weeks ago I set a goal of doing every quest not fast but taking it step by step
Set realistic goals huh? Time to solo ToB!
Most players go straight to endgame content with low skill because of black market and selling gold, just go top ffa worlds.. very embarracing like 105 cb 112cb with whip and void, pretty disgusting
Is the music you're using in the background at the beginning from GW1 pre-searing?
Doing soul wars atm on a iron acc and loving it, so tro I got burnt out going for zulrah and vork pet on main 😅 now I am loving the game because of a iron man acc lol great video keep up the good work
First mistake, not making BILLIONS from gout tubers
OH MY LORDDDDDDDDDD
Would your opinion change on no Bossing till 99 & slayer is best for maxing combat skills, now that Scurrius is in the game?
2:02 "If something is too good to be true, it probably is" pretty sure you mean "if something SEEMS too good to be true, it probably is" eh?
My bad, read script incorrectly. You're correct
@Kaoz OSRS naw I was in a foul mood sorry for correcting something so small. Great video king
I have a fun one.
You can high alch noted items.
Idk who this will help, even to this day, but hopefully someone
Loved this video!
"Just don't talk to strangers"
What a European answer
When I started OSRS back a year ago, a guy gave me 10 mil for no reason. Didn't ask me to do anything, just said it would help me out, and it did.
